What's funny is that this is all Waffle can really come up with since the Steelers crapped their pants against the Jagwads yesterday.

Well accord old Peter King it a tie:
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/writers/peter_king/10/16/mmqb.week6/2.html
Defensive Player of the Week

(tie) Denver CB Darrent Williams. There's a new sheriff in the Denver secondary, a smallish rookie from Oklahoma State who hits like a safety. Or a strongside linebacker. Three or four times against the Patriots, Williams (who had five tackles in the game) whacked a receiver like Ronnie Lott used to do, and in the third quarter Williams came in hard on a blitz and quasi-earholed Tom Brady. Each week, this guy's making terrific physical plays. Pretty interesting style of play for a 5-foot-8, 188-pound kid.

(tie) Kansas City DE Jaren Allen, who had three sacks of Washington QB Mark Brunell in the Chiefs' 28-21 win. Allen added six tackles as the KC defense finally made some big plays at the end of this game to win it.

Jared should have made Irvin's playmaker list. Does anyone know if there ever been a defensive player on Irvin's playmaker list?

I just don't remember seeing much of him in that particular game. That's all.

But then I don't remember seeing much of any of your team show up for that one so I suppose he shouldn't be singled out.

I am guessing the Chiefs figured the Donks wouldn't show up to play. They sure didn't the previous game we played. What was it 4 TDs we beat you by.

WOW!

But hey....Jared Allen kicked ass yesterday, huh?

In fact, I'll drink a beer in his honor tonight.

They figured wrong, but then what else is new under Carl Peterson's reign? He figured that Pat Surtain & Kendrell Bell were worth a combined $22 million in signing bonuses this past offseason. Oops.

Santana Moss should get some consideration for playmaker of the week too. What did he have again? 10 catches for 160 yards?

He's on my fantasy team, it was 173 yards 2 TDs.

Rep. Rashean Mathis is the best corner in the NFL of the ones that are playing right now. A victim of small market team not getting coverage, no one is playing the possition better than this guy.

Jared Allen was exceptional. He had one series where he had two sacks in a row. That's hard to do because they sually learn from the first one. Honestly Jared Allen doesn't have that kind of game and the Redskins would have won it. He deserves this award.

Exactly. He had the best game out of anyone in the league on defense. They couldn't stop the guy at all. I don't understand why people can't just recognize an excellent effort by somebody on the Chiefs instead of instantly jumping to a defensive stance and making unrelated insults and arguments. Allen dominated.

Agreed. Mathis should have gone to the Pro Bowl last season.

Mathis held Chad Johnson to a 5 reception, 52 yard, 1 TD game. Johnson's longest catch was 14 yards. By far, his worst performance of the season. However, Johnson made a lame excuse after the game claiming Mathis got safety help and he didn't stop him.

On "The List" he keeps in his locker of opposing cornerbacks — under the headline, "Who covered 85 in 2005" — Johnson gave the Jaguars' Rashean Mathis a check mark in the "no" box because he got safety help from free safety Deon Grant. Next up: The Titans' Pacman Jones.

I personally like Chad Johnson, but his team lost the game and he had his worst performance of the season. That's the bottom line. Forget the individual battle, his team lost but he still thinks he gets a W for his effort. That's lame.

That is lame no doubt about it. Pretty unprofessional.

But I'm talking about the match up. If they are double-teaming you, it's no joke.

That is what I hate about Chad Johnson. He wants everyone to respect him, but then he doesn't show anyone else any respect. I remember in one of his interviews where he said that nobody can cover him, and if he has a bad game it isn't because he was shut down, but simply because he did something wrong.
