As none of the resident CU fans wants to open this thread, I just thought I might open the thread. Can´t really comment as I´ve not managed to see CU this season so far, hopefully tomorrow, but I´ve heard a few people say the Buffs have a legitimate chance for the upset, which surprises me a bit. Do the resident CU Fans think the same ?

Of course there's a chance of beating UT. However, it's quite the uphill battle. CU must have a pretty much perfect game (Like last week) and hope that UT continues to be sloppy with the ball. I like CU's chances better in the rematch in December. I do like that UT is coming off their first win over OU in 6 years, maybe they'll be flat or even over look CU with the upcoming game against TT. I doubt it though. UT's Charles is now a game time decision with a sprained ankle that he re-tweeked in practice on Wed. I think I would rather see Selvyn Young than Charles.

I think Texass wins this one by a TD.

Big 12 Game of the Week
Colorado (4-1) vs. Texas (5-0) 3:30 p.m. ET ABC
Why to watch: After thumping Oklahoma last week, the schedule opens up for Texas with, realistically, only four dangerous games left to get to Pasadena. The Big 12 title game, Texas Tech, and Texas A&M, and this one against a Colorado team that's playing much better than it's getting any national credit for. Clearly the lead dog in the North pack after an impressive 41-20 win over Texas A&M, Colorado looks to make this part one of a two game series hoping to get to the Big 12 championship. A loss at Miami is the only blemish for Gary Barnett's club which has shown explosiveness on offense, toughness on defense, and a kicking game that's the best in the country. Texas will be on high letdown alert, but the Buffs just might be good enough to ruin the dream season.

Why Colorado might win: Run defense. The Colorado defense might not have any stars, but it's a good, sound group that's currently sixth in the nation allowing a mere 77.6 yards per game. Texas A&M QB Reggie McNeal had rushed for for 369 yards over the first four games of the season with a couple of 100-yard days, but Colorado held him to -14 yards on the ground last week. Obviously, the Texas offense works at its best when Vince Young is running, but that could be a problem. On the other side of the ball, Texas hasn't faced a team that can throw, which is part of the reason it has the nation's No. 4 pass defense. CU, and QB Joel Klatt, will give the Texas corners a big test pushing the ball deep time and again.

Why Texas might win: The Texas secondary might not have been tested yet, but the run defense has gotten plenty of work facing Ohio State, Missouri, and Oklahoma (albeit, without Adrian Peterson for most of the game), as well as Rice, who only runs. Texas is only allowing 102 yards per game on the ground, with one of the nation's best lines and LB Aaron Harris keeping anyone from running effectively. Colorado is at its best with a balanced attack, but it might be just a passing team against the Longhorns. QB Joel Klatt isn't the most mobile of quarterbacks, and he'll be pressured all game long.

Who to watch: Colorado always finds effective running backs, and it has yet another good one in sophomore Hugh Charles. He's not that big, but he can be a 20-carry back if need be with 487 yards and five touchdowns averaging 5.3 yards per carry. He's one of the fastest backs Texas will face this year, and he needs to hit a few big plays early to loosen up the nasty Longhorn run D.
What will happen: Don't be shocked if Colorado pulls off the upset. With a veteran quarterback like Klatt, and physical enough lines to hold up against the great Longhorn lines, Texas will know it has been in a battle. Vince Young and the Texas running game will be too much for the Buffs, but they won't pull away until late in the fourth quarter.
CFN Prediction: Texas 30 ... Colorado 19 ... Line: Texas -17.5 | Make your pick and compete against others
Must See Rating: (5 lock yourself in a room to watch - 1 Freddie) ... 4

I gotta give it to the retard here.. He is right. CU is going to get dominated up and down the field tomorrow & I will be there enjoying every minute of it. The Buffs only prayer is that Vince goes down. Otherwise, they can't match up with the explosiveness of our offense. And if they do, they still have to worry about moving the ball on our stingy defense.

Pez must be cursing me right now... this is exactly what I told him would happen. Texas's defense is better than people realize. The 4 headed horsemen that is the RB corps is brutal. Actually it's down to three since they're using Romonce Taylor as a WR and KR/PR primarily. Still, Charles, Melton and Selvin Young are a great Trio of RB's. Like I told Pezzy, they are the college equiv. of Atlanta.

So that I don't get called a Buffs hater, I said initially that in most cases I would go for the Buffs vs UT... but since I live in Texas and I'd like to see them get a shot at a NC I'm pulling for the Horns. Hook'em Horns!

F Barnett. This guy cannot recruit well enough to beat Top 20 teams. That might get by for now with a down Big XII North, but the program isn't going to take the next step.

From what I have read they have landed some nice players so far, so has NU though. The game went the way I thought it would go but in no way would I hang my head on a loss to the number two team in the nation right now.

Thanks for putting it up, but I subscribe to the site, and a recruiting class that, up to this point, solely of 1 3* and the rest 2*s (and any recruit who receives a D1 schollie gets 2*s) is not that good.

Maybe if the press would quit playing the tools of that Wilson biatch, the Buffs could start getting better draftees. If I was a parent living in Cal or Texas, and all I knew about CU was what I read in papers, I'd probably tell my kid to scratch CU of his list.

I figured you would have seen that before. I didn't know that it was that bad. That article made it sound like CU was doing pretty good so far. Its just my opinion but I don't think GB comes back next year to coach CU. With everything that has gone on over the last few years I think hes a goner. The one thing I can say about GB is he gets the most out of his players like Frank did for us.

The president of CU and Barnett need to be canned. I would do some more firing also starting with that offensive coordinator.

CU looked incredibly slow compared to Texas and Young made them look very highschoolish. They have no talent whatsoever. Good thing the Big 12 North sucks or else they would be in the celler.

I disagree. UT is definitely the better team, but those friggin CU WRs dropped so many passes (and Klatt was throwing them good balls too) that they just had no chance to build up any mo or quiet the crowd. That, plus a bunch of bonehead penalties. Of course, mental prep has never been Barnett's strong suit.

That happened last year, it appears to have improved somewhat this year, but they could go down and get players out of Texas in the past and it hasn't really come back.

They can get them to visit Boulder, but not go there. But getting Browner to visit after he's already commited to Cal and Macklin to agree to come (Stoops said he'd pull the schollie if got on the plane) is something they haven't gotten in the past.

Our recruiting is why I have such high hopes for NU. While I'm not a huge Cally fan its hard to argue with the talent he is landing us. While not all of it is on him he did put together some damn good recruiters. So far this year looks like it will be another good class for us. :strong:

Two questions.

Do you guys still doubt that Texas should be the #2 team in the country? And, do you think Vince Young is still just hype or do you think he's and NFL caliber QB. I've been watching him since he was a Junior in HS in Houston and think the world of him. He's really come a long way as a QB. Obviously he's a great athlete, but it's been the past 10 games or so that he's really started becoming a QB. He runs a lot, but as you probably noticed today it's mainly due to designed runs. His throwing mechanics are poor, but his arm is live and more accurate than most realize. He'll only get better and he's pretty damn good right now!

He is a hell of a college QB...and I think he has a chance of being an NFL QB but still a ton of work and development left to be done to play QB at the NFL level. If I had to guess he will end up getting moved to WR at the NFL level as he would be awesome as such but QB is not out of the question. Reminds me most of a faster A.Brooks but a lesser passer at this point in his development.

The horror... the horror....

Buffswere dominated in every aspect, showing we are a second rate team against the elite. Nothing more to say. I guess the Buffs will have to settle with trying to win the North and go to a mediocre bowl again. Barney will try to spin this loss into something positive again, but the fact of the matter is, our mediocre recruiting has once again come back to bite us in the azz...

Congrats to UT, they are the real #1 team in the nation hands down folks... I've been saying that since they beat OSU btw
