Great book. http://www.thomaslfriedman.com/

I'm only in about 100 pages. Just wondering if anyone has read it yet? LABF I recommend this one for you. I know you seem to think the world revolves around Bush and his term in office but this might open your eyes to the other billions of people and decades of economic factors that have created our WORLD ECONOMY today.

I'll even send you a copy for free LABF just so you don't have any excuses not to read it. :welcome:

Freidman does outstanding job, it on my must read books this month. Damn list keep on growing. New Kagan book is also outstanding, and the Freakonomics is very good read to.

I've read that Jagdish Bhagwati's “In Defence of Globalisation” and Martin Wolf's “Why Globalisation Works” are superior to Friedman's book.

Ha ha ha!

I always chuckle when I see Meck77 is so obsessed with me that he feels compelled to address his "don't criticize Dubya" message to me personally.

Funny!

:D

BTW, this is just the same defensive game plan we get from W*GS:

Point out the failings of past administrations and other interested parties in order to take the heat off the current administration and to defer accountability.

I know you seem to think the world revolves around Bush and his term in office...

Get back to me when you're old enough to actually remember more than one or two previous administrations.

Yes, he has done some very fine work.

It's just too bad that people like Meck simply use it to rationalize giving the current administration a free pass.

I rest my case. I guess you missed the section of my post where I referenced a book you might enjoy. Open your eyes to the world LABF. You might learn something. zowie! This book is not about Bush or Clinton jackass.

No, I didn't miss that part of your post - it's just that the usual condescending crap you posted along with it sort of negates any "good intentions" on your part.

Open your eyes to the world LABF. You might learn something.

That's your problem - you're the one who needs to do the learning, and you don't even realize it.

This book is not about Bush or Clinton jackass.

I'm familiar with the book.

BTW, it looks like those warnings re: name calling posted by one of the mods not too long ago doesn't apply to the mods themselves.

Just think - if I were one of your conservative buddies, I would have already reported you to admin.

Up until the "in order", you were on track. Afterwards, you derailed.

I point out the failings of past (mis)administrations to put those of the current (mis)administration in context. You seem to think evil, or incompetence, or whatever other problems Bush has are new, or unique, or particularly pernicious. They are not. Those of us not blinded by hate know this.

Wow - it sounds like this author has been reading W*GS' and Meck's posts:

...The difference lies in the bullsh*tter's complete disregard for whether what he's saying corresponds to facts in the physical world: he "does not reject the authority of the truth, as the liar does, and oppose himself to it. He pays no attention to it at all. By virtue of this, bullsh*t is a greater enemy of the truth than lies are."

Yep - that's the sound made by your conservative buddies when they complain to the mods about the same kind of name-calling Meck is doing here.

I just saw some pieces of Tim Russert's interview of Friedman on the boob tube and the latter had some interesting things to say.

There is a article about the book in the latest Playboy magazine. Some real food for thought in the article. I'm going to get it from the library and check it out. And you thought I only read football !! I'm a diversified individual.
