Just for the record, Sean is playing w/ much more discipline this year.. He hasn't made quite as many spectacular plays so far this year, but he has been super solid. He also hasn't been called for any unneccessary roughness penalties..
In fact, he was out of the game last weekend (banged up shoulder) when Seattle had their long drive to tie up the game. Maybe they would have been stopped had he been in the game (don't even get me started on Lavar)...
FYI - Sean Taylor is now #21 this year, not #36 (so you guys can know who's laying the wood on Smith, Anderson, Plummer & the boys)..

It's a reference to the Skins/Philly game last year. Pinkston came across the middle on a quick slant and Sean spread him across the field like butter. Philly tried the play later in the game and when Pinkston came across he saw Sean heading right towards him. He proceeded to pull up on his route, alligator arm it, and look like a scared little fool in front of thousands.. He was benched shortly after that and eventually was cut..

H2H hits are illegal no matter who takes the hit. RB, WR, QB, TE, Etc.
A player can not use his helmet as a weapon.
Those are your words! ........illegal no matter who take the hit.......
It was an ignorant comment and shows that either you made a mistake and stuck your dick in your mouth, or just really don't know the game!

Yes, this statment is IGNORANT. Do you know how many penalties there would be in a game if they called helmet to helmet every time a RB ran up the middle?
You need to get an understanding of the game...when you do, come on back and talk football. Until then QUIT POSTING BS!
I try to be reasonable.
Did I state that every hit was illegal ? No. Maybe I should have made it a little clearer (understandable, my mistake) and easier for some to understand.

Sean Taylor has had his trial date, originally set for Monday, postponed until Oct. 24, according to the Washington Post. Yeah... sure. Whatever helps you sleep.
Here... I've got a bed-time story for you:
On the afternoon of June 1, according to the police report, Taylor drove his Yukon Denali into West Perrine because he believed two men from the area had stolen his two all-terrain vehicles, each worth about $7,000. Another car with several of Taylor's friends trailed behind, police said.
Police said that Taylor got out of his car and pointed a gun at two individuals while demanding they return his ATVs. According to a person familiar with the investigation who requested anonymity because the case is still at a sensitive stage, an individual from the car trailing Taylor's pointed an AK-47. No shots were fired, and Taylor soon left, they said. Ten minutes later, he returned with more friends, the police report said.
After returning, Taylor got out of the car and hit one of the individuals with his fist while one of Taylor's friends chased another person with a bat, the police report said. Then Taylor and his group again left the scene and drove to a home in the area belonging to one of Taylor's friends. According to officials familiar with the case who requested anonymity, shots were fired into the home and at Taylor's Denali several minutes later. No one was hurt.

Okay, back on topic. Sean Taylor can play football. We have a few big Miami fans here that know all about Taylor. A little did you know... despite having nearly double the Int's of any other Cane DB his last year in Miami he was widely regarded as having the worst hands of the bunch! I thought that was suprising considering he had like 10 int's that year! He also knows what to do with the ball once he has it in his hands. A good player for sure... but personally I'd rather have an Ed Reed that is not only good, he is civil!

Look, here. Miami's keeping their football players out of jail long enough to play football. Now, with that said, Sean Taylor will probably kill at least 4 broncHOs on Sunday. Better buy stock in the local mortuary, even though you will lose the game and a few players, at least you will make a few bucks.

First of all Sean Taylor is a bad ass. No doubt about it. i would love to have him raoming our secondary. Watching the video though, it is a highlight reel. Every player has their great moments and many have more than Taylor, I am sure we could make a video of Lynch or Wilson that is just as intimidating. The difference is Taylor does a lot more dancing around after he makes a good play. There are tons of hard hitting defenders in the league, many of whom our receivers have been introduced to,so i am sure that our receivers will be no more scared of sean taylor than any other hard hitting player.
Then about Lynch and Taylor....they both hit hella hard! No one can argue that (and if you do your wrong)
This week is gonna be a match up of two great defenses, it should be really exciting. I think the broncos will win just becuase of the fact that our offense has more chemistry and is a little better. Either way this game is gonna be a hard hittin, in your face match.

This is too funny, it takes Al Wilson one days work to accomplish what Sean Taylor has in 2 seasons.
Defensive Player of the Week
Denver LB Al Wilson (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/4680/). This Denver linebacking corps is blowing people up. In Jacksonville, covering for injured cornerback Champ Bailey (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/4655/), Wilson and his buddies pressured Byron Leftwich (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/6343/) continually, holding the Jags to 241 yards. Wilson had four fumble recoveries, a sack, two forced fumbles and a pass defensed. The Broncs have allowed 34 points in the last three weeks (2 TD's allowed by Lenny).

Come on Broncos fans, do you not understand that highlight reel came from his ROOKIE YEAR, how many players do you see coming out of college and dancing around after they make a big play, especially from the U.
Now my main point being none of you have seen the Skins' play besides the Monday night game, where if you noticed after the hit on 3rd down, that caused a fumble (but was not ruled a fumble). Taylor simply walked away, nothing obnoxious, just went back to the huddle. You will be seeing a much more matured Sean Taylor come Sunday.

First, making your screen name the same as a player is totally gay. Second, Taylor is a dirty player, you just admitted it. Third, who the hell cares? Your going to be in the basement soon enough.
thats not nice to make fun of ChampBailey24 like that.....
We all know that Taylor can play. He'll be the best DB we play against so far this season... still not scared of him though.
Woah now, thems are strong, and entirely WRONG, words. Best DB we've played all year? Sorry, if you want to suck this week's opponent's dick feel free, but don't disregard the significantly better players we've faced already this year.
Namely Patrick Surtain, I know he doesn't get much love here because he's a Cheffy, but the guy is a multiple pro bowl corner who consistantly gets the job done, even when he played in the AFC East, one of the premier divisions in football.
I'd liken Taylor's game currently to that of Deon Grant, who we played just last week. Grant is a versitile safety who has seen spurts of being great, Taylor is there as well. The principle difference is that while Grant is playing at his peak Taylor is only starting to reach is (assuming he stays out of jail). Still, we're playing Taylor this week, not next year or the year after. He makes immature mistakes on the football field and is exploitable, far from a top level DB.

STFU you idiot
DC IS AGAIN 'MURDER CAPITAL', NEW STUDY SHOWS
- District had Highest Big-City Murder Rate in 2002
- DC Murder Rate Soared as Other Cities Saw Decline
(Washington, DC) Washington, DC is once again the nation's 'Murder Capital," according to a new study released today.
The study, conducted by SafeStreetsDC.com (www.SafeStreetsDC.com), a public safety watchdog group, compared the annual number of murders per 100,000 residents in American cities with populations greater than 500,000. This was the same standard used to determine DC's previous rank as murder capital. In compiling the data, the group relied on homicide statistics from the FBI and police department homicide units from around the country.
According to the numbers, DC outranked all major cities, and is again the nation's "murder capital."
Immediately following DC on the list were Detroit (the winner in 2001), Baltimore, Memphis, Chicago and Philadelphia (in that order).
Other notable rankings included: Los Angeles (9), Dallas (10), Boston (18), San Francisco (24), and New York (25). Last on the list was Honolulu, ranked 32d with only 18 murders, in spite of its population of nearly 900,000.
DC, by comparison, with nearly 600,000 residents, had 262 murders last year.
DC's soaring homicide rate also defied national trends showing a slight drop in murders. In spite of the fact that the number of total murders in all 32 cities dropped 1.2% in 2002 as compared to 2001, DC saw a nearly 13% increase in its murder rate in 2002, giving it the 6th-highest increase among the cities surveyed.
"Nationally the murder rate hardly changed, yet in DC it soared last year," said John Aravosis, cofounder of SafeStreetsDC.com and co-author of the study along with Matt Forman. "DC officials clearly can't blame the city's increasing murder rate on the worsening economy or other national trends since most other cities facing the same pressures did not see the same increase in homicides."
The largest jump in the 2002 murder rate was in Columbus, which saw a nearly 60% increase last year, immediately followed by San Jose (+27%), Tucson (+21%), Jacksonville (+20%), and Denver (+18%).
On the other end of the spectrum, El Paso had the greatest decline in its murder rate last year (-30%). The percentage change in the murder rate of other notable cities in 2002 include: Los Angeles (+12%), Detroit (+2%), Baltimore (-1%), Chicago (-3%), Philadelphia (-7%), Boston (-8%), New York (-10%), and Dallas (-20%).
The study also cast doubt on another factor often used by DC officials to explain the city's increasing crime rate: the demands of Homeland Security.
"We were surprised to find that New York had a 10% drop in homicides last year, as DC officials often blame the District's increasing crime rate on the demands of post-September 11 security," Aravosis said. "Yet New York, which surely faces as great a threat as Washington, has managed to improve its murder rate."
The study also found that in 2001 DC was the murder capital "runner up."
This year, according to the DC Metropolitan Police Department, murder in the District is up over 21% from last year, and at the current pace, Washington could see 325 murders in 2003 as compared to last year's 262. (Source: Washington Post)
"We were the murder capital runner-up in 2001, we won the title in 2002, and 2003 is already being heralded as a record year for death in the District," said Aravosis. "All of this proves that this year's 21% jump in homicides is hardly a temporary fluke. It's been building for years."
SafeStreetsDC.com is a web-based ad hoc coalition of District of Columbia citizens and police officers working to improve public safety and hometown security. SafeStreetsDC.com founder, John Aravosis, is a nationally-known Internet activist best known for his year 2000 StopDrLaura.com web campaign. The campaign brought citizen pressure to bear in convincing corporate sponsors to withdraw from Dr. Laura Schlessinger's television talk show ultimately leading to the cancellation of the show.

DC Regains Title of "Murder Capital"
A Study by SafeStreetsDC.com
April 24, 2003
DC is Again the Murder Capital
Washington, DC had the highest number of homicides per capita in 2002 of cities with populations of 500,000 or more, making the District again the nation's "murder capital." (This was the same standard used to determine DC's "murder capital" status in the late 1980s.) In 2001, DC was the "murder capital runner-up," following Detroit which held the title that year. In 2002, however, DC's nearly 13% increase in homicides over the previous year exceeded Detroit's more modest increase of less than 2%. As a result, Detroit and DC switched places in the rankings for 2002, with DC taking the lead.
The Importance of Calculating the "Murder Rate"
A word about the "murder rate" and per-capita calculations. While Los Angeles had the most murders in 2002 of any large city, Washington, DC gets the rank of "murder capital" because the risk of being murdered in the District is higher than in Los Angeles. This is because while Los Angeles has 6.5 times the population of the District, last year LA did not have 6.5 times the number of murders in DC - rather, LA had only 2.5 times the number of murders in DC. Thus, in terms of each citizen's risk of being murdered, DC is more dangerous than LA and thus gets a higher rank.(1)

The Morgan Quitno Safest City Award is based on a city’s rate for six basic crime categories: murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary and motor vehicle theft. All cities of 75,000+ populations that reported crime data to the FBI for the six crime categories were included in the rankings. In this year’s survey, 354 cities were considered for the award. Final 2003 statistics, released by the FBI on October 25, 2004, were used to determine the rankings.
At the opposite end of the Morgan Quitno crime scale, Camden, New Jersey ranks as the nation’s most dangerous city. While Camden has always ranked among the 10 most dangerous cities in Morgan Quitno’s rankings, this is the first year that Camden has been named the most dangerous city. Camden is joined at the bottom of the crime rankings by (in ascending order) Detroit, MI; Atlanta, GA; St. Louis, MO and Gary, IN.

To be Fair Mock, using population statistics and the like to compare Crime rates for DC doesn't work too well. Officially Washington DC has a deceptivly low population, but that's because the actual population of the area is spread heavily into northern virginia and southern maryland. On any given day the population of DC is 2-3 times the size of what the census polls tell us.

Lets not start comparing cities, now. Sure, DC has some bad parts, but the good parts are heads above most top 10 markets. I'm not even sure Denver qualifies as a top 10 market, so maybe the comparisions should stop there.

Wow, that is such a great comeback. You must write for a sitcom or maybe a late night talk show??? Wow, good stuff.
Sean Taylor is already IMO the heart and soul of the Skins defense. Coaches all love him and rave about him. Maybe he didn't have a high wonderlic score, but who cares? There is smart and then there is football smart. Barring an injury, he'll have a nice career.
As to how to attack Taylor, I'd send Lelie deep often and work underneath. to me, the Skins biggest weakness on defense is the short to mid range pass.

Not Denver necessarily but Colorado in general. We used to live in Sterling so I know a little about the area. Our area was nice so what do I know about the bad parts?

Actually, I think this is the direction that the thread was supposed to go. That is a pretty good jack. I don't think there is any doubt that the guy can hit, he's a LB playing safety. I don't think it's in doubt that he is a thug either, Washington fans probably won't care as long as he produces on the field. A a Denver fan I don't have to like him, but it would be pretty dumb to discount him.

Sean Taylor's actions are what make him a thug, not how he talks. Also, the guys is anything but a cancer. He comes hard and never takes a play off. He plays within the scheme and doesn't freelance.

If you define the 5 year time peroid from when Snyder bought the team in 1999 until Gibbs came back in 2004 as "always", then I'll have to agree with you.
However, if you define "always" like everyone else does, you'd see that you're just wrong. Going back the the early 70s with the "Over the Hill Gang", the Redskins have traditionally been a much more cerebral, often less physically gifted team than their opponents. We can go down the timeline, but, basically, the practice of bringing in the physical specimens and throwing caution to the wind on character started the day Snyder went on his all-pro crica 1995 spending spree in 2000.

Ah, I get it, it's only on the last gasp open field collars. That's no too bad, since the rule doesn't apply to QB's and RB's near the line of scrimmage. It certainly isn't as hazy as the H2H rules.

The horsecoller is when you grab the players' shoulder pads but your hand comes inside or underneath the pads to give you leverage. You can grab someone from behind and even grab high around their neck area provided your fingers don't wrap around the edge of the shoulder pads.

For the Record:
(Since I was gone most of the afternoon and missed a lot of crap)
1. DC is about 20 square miles. Most people in the DC area live in Northern VA and Southern MD.
2. This is to Bronco Garcia - I live in Midlothian. Yes, it is south of the river, but Midlothian is an oasis of fine living in the middle of a rural, red-necky county. Very much like Short Pump these days. Also, I grew up in the West End (north of the river) and graduated from J.R. Tucker High School. I only moved to the "southside" for work and because I could get a lot more house for my money (at that time - no longer).
3. This thread was about what a beast Sean Taylor is (and then Lynch got thrown in as well).. The immature bashing is kind of silly. Especially since I also have seen very intelligent and insightful Bronco fans posting over at hailredskins.com. This is your board, so do what you want. But you might want to see and example of a fan board that fan be fun & interesting without feeling like you are back in grade school..
4. By some of the logic I am reading, you are automatically guilty just because a DA has charged you with a crime. That's a new one.. Sean has been charged with crimes, but has also refused a plea deal and has vowed to fight the case all the way because he claims to be innocent. Why don't we wait till the case actually happens before we decide he's guilty.. Also, do any of you know that Sean's dad is the Chief of Police in a neighboring county (of his alleged crime). Anyone think local politics might be involved?! Just a thought...
5. Sean was charged with DUI LAST YEAR. He went to court and was exonerated.. NEXT!?
Finally, I respect Taylor and Lynch and excellent safeties.. I look forwar to their matchup this weekend..

Yes, I agree. You need to understand though, since you are a new poster during the week of our two teams game, you are lumped in with the "troll" crowd until you build at least a little bit of a reputation. This is a highly intelligent forum, but a lot of posters go into attack mode when we are bombarded with rival posters, good and bad alike. Like I said before, for every rival poster who wants to talk football, there are 3 others who just want to throw insults around. Once you've seperated yourself from the trolls the fans here are pretty easy to get along with.

Good explanation! I get it now.. I still think it's not necessary, but understandable.. Of course we are trolling a bit, but it's only because we are all passionate about our team. A lot of my friends are skins fans, since I'm from Fairfax, so I am well versed in the passion the fans have. It's admirable, and a couple of you guys have risen to the top today as guys with solid takes. Hail!
First off we don't need some yippie telling us how to act. Most of us here are very civil until YOU trolls start showing up and talking your trash.
It's funny that you feel it necessary to talk about your home on a message board. Honestly, who cares? Before you posted I would have taken GB's comments with a grain of salt. Now that you found it necessary to try and defend your stamp of land it seems logical that it is a hell hole...why else would it bother you?
The point on Sean Taylor was made. One of your geniuses from extreme skin or hail-a-skin or whatever it is (same thing!) posted that anybody can be "charged" with a crime at any time. Your buddy can watch 10 minutes of Law and Order and figure out that he's full of shiat! It's common sense that a DA would first determine whether this case was worth pursuing prior to "charging" Taylor with a criminal act. Doesn't take a genius to figure that out and I don't know what kind of person you are but I know that I myself am not about to be charged for pointing a gun at somebody!
As for Sean being exonerated on a DUI charge... WOW! I can't believe a DA would let a case like that go. I mean, it just doesn't make sense now does it? Don't know what your point is? O.J. was exonerated as well as Michael Jackson. I suppose they're both innocent b/c the F'd up system says so. Whatever!
Not sure whether Sean Taylor's father is a Chief or not. Seems to me that you're probably talking about Antrel Rolle, but I supposed both of them could have fathers that are CoP's in neighboring counties.
Finally, I agree that both Lynch and Taylor are good safties. Although I think Taylor is twice the athlete that Lynch ever was...Lynch is 10 times the man, and 10 times the citizen. That counts here in Denver and that is why Lynch is so well liked. You don't see us talking big about Dwayne Carswell do you. We talk about the class acts.

The best thing that could have happened to Taylor would be going to a coach like Shannahan or Parcells. Somebody that doesn't put up with the crap!
Anybody notice that DJ Williams was one of the few former Canes that understood the importance of working out with his current teammates instead of back in Miami? That's coaching. That's what a winning organziation is capable of doing. I find it amusing when Skins fans say the coaches are happy and pleased with Taylor. Seems to me that for several months prior to the season he wouldn't so much as return a phone call to his HC or GM! Right now he's good to go, loose a couple games and the ugly Taylor will come crawling out.

LOL, Lynch is so washed up, nobody fears him anymore. Taylor is a freak, anyone coming across the middle is going to get destroyed. I feel bad for your guys if they come across the middle. Taylor and Ryan Clark, who might i add cracked Bobby Ingram's ribs on Sunday, are going to lay some big hits come Sunday.
Lynch is one of the hardest hitting safeties of ALL TIME. Those kind of players lose their skills first and their big-hit ability last.
Taylor is a second year pro, while very skilled, still has much to prove. And isn't the hardest hitter I have ever seen, especially when considering his size.
Anytime I have EVER seen Lynch get the worse end of the stick as far as a collision goes, he STILL makes the tackle.
Can't say the same for Taylor (read: Greg Jones.)

If Taylor had a brain to go along with is athletic skills and hitting ability, he'd be the best defensive player in the game. Unfortunately, he's got a 10 cent brain.
He is a difference maker on defense, and that goes a long way in setting the tone of a defense, and producing those all important turnovers. With time, he could turn out to be a better defensive player than Dexter Manly, but who knows if he'll ever be smarter than Manly.
