That is what the Broncos put on the field against the Jags. That is what the Broncos fans need to bring to the Skins game sunday.
Is anybody watching ESPN2? Steven A. Smith is interviewing Ozzie Smith and he asked Ozzie. What makes St. Louis such a special place for baseball. His response. The fans.
He said as a Cardinal player from day one they are asked to give 110%. The Cardinals in turn ask their fans to give 110% and they do.
It was the best crowd I've ever seen at Mile High last monday. I've missed 3 games at the new stadium since it's opened. We need that same intensity from the fans. That monday night game had all the hype. The Broncos stepped up and started things off right. Factor in the monday night hype and it was electric.
I'm not sure which crowd will show up to the game. I hope it's the one that was there on Monday night when we beat down the Chiefs!
There is always room for improvement from the team and the fans always have another notch. I'm talking camera shaking notch this sunday!
We need the same thing come 2:15pm. 110% of Mile High Thunder/Hell!
Go Broncos!

Question is the buzz of Portis returning and the high of 3 game winning streak be enough to get the crowd into early? Monday nights are always special for the fans. Let hope the 12th man is there.

There is an opposite an equal reaction between the play on the field and the crowd. If the team makes a play the crowd reacts. If the crowd reacts first you can almost expect a play. It's an amazing phenomena.

Thanks atheist but I'm just one guy. There are 77,000 people in that stadium. There is no reason this stadium cannot be as loud as it was in the 80's. B-loves old school tapes have me pumped up for this game. Been watching alot of games from the 70's and 80's. I saw most of the ones from the 80's the first time around but there is something special about seeing them again in 2005. It's a great reminder of our proud history.
The weather reports are great but it wouldn't hurt to slip in 30 seconds of hell raising from the 80's on the jumbo tron.
What would really get this crowd going is to show old clips of some of those games during timeouts. It was so damn loud while watching these game tapes that you can't even here Dick Enberg talking. You can't even read the score on the TV screen without wanting to grab your tv to stop it from shaking.
There are alot of fans in those seats that don't understand what Mile High Magic was. That isn't a knock on them it's just a newer generation. The Broncos need to educate them. 110% from the team/organization= 110% from the fans.
One common goal. A superbowl.

Go Forward...Move Ahead...
Crack that whip
Give the past the slip
Step on a crack
Break your momma’s back
When a problem comes along
You must whip it
Before the cream sits out too long
You must whip it
When something’s going wrong
You must whip it
Now whip it
Into shape
Shape it up
Get straight
Go forward
Move ahead
Try to detect it
It’s not too late
To whip it
Whip it good
When a good time turns around
You must whip it
You will never live it down
Unless you whip it
No one gets away
Until they whip it
I say whip it
Whip it good
I say whip it
Whip it good

While I agree with you, I don't think my voice can take it. It took 6 days to get it back to normal after the KC game. Once I step in that stadium, I'm sure I'll forget all about my lack of voice after the last game. Hopefully, the people in my seats this week will fill in admirably this weekend.

Oh, I agree. I remember the angst in those pre-Superbowl win years. I remember, even though I was in CA and not in the stadium, screaming at the top of my lungs WILLING those guys to hear me. I remember trying to muster a "first down" in my gut and actually will it into the tv set so that Elway and Co. would actually get the yardage needed. I felt that I might be able to get those thoughts all the way from SF Bay to Denver. I used to close my eyes, cross my fingers and toes and WILL them to win.
It seems that, post-Superbowl win era, some folks have become complacent. There's no more sense of urgency. No sense of something to prove. We've proven it already and some folks seem satisfied to sit on our past.
I'm with you, tho'. We need some more ORANGE in our fans. Some more gut-wrenching pain felt in our guts when our boys don't get it done. We need to feel like we're down on that field with the guys; helping them pull to right, make a hole, squirt our runner down the field. We need to will that ball into our covered man down field. FEEL it with them. SCREAM it into them. Let them know we are IN THEIR HEADS!!! We are ONE team! Not a team of players and seats of fans. We ALL participate!
Damn! I got myself all pumped up now!!! Ha ha ha ha!!

Bring a cow bell. I brought in a monster of one to the KC game. I showed it right at the security gate going in. They said "have fun". I even walked around with it. Nobody said a thing.
I'm not saying it is Broncos policy or that they are allowed. All I'm saying is I brought one and one of those things is probably = to 10 screaming fans. Maybe it was just a monday night beat the chiefs mojo thing. I really don't know but I didn't try to hide it and the yellow coats didn't try to take it away either.
I hear you about the voice thing. It does hurt but so does getting hit by a 250lb linebacker that can run a 4.6.

Glad the old school tapes are having that impact. I will be back home tomorrow night and will try to work on the New York get together.
Meck and Disco should earn tons of rep for everything they do. Every event and every picture thread should earn them mad respect from everyone on this board. It's a shame but many popular posters seem to almost completely ignore what they post. I do not understand that.
Knowing how disproportionate my love, for this team that plays 2000 miles away from my house, is, I appreciate anyone that goes beyond the norm.
But guys like Meck, Disco and phillybroncosnut, among many others, all impress the hell outta me. No jealousies, indifference or any bull****. Pure Broncos madness and I love it.

I have been trying to do my part. I can rarely make it by the tailgates, but in the stands I scream and yell my ass off. I think it is finally catching on with the people around me. The people that own the seats to either side of me have finally started to give their tickets to people that love being at the game and love cheering. They don't sit on their hands. At the MNF game there was a guy who just moved here from New England. It was his first game in Denver. He was having such a blast that during the 2nd Quarter he went and bought a Broncos hat and proceeded to cheer like mad. There is definitely a different feeling with the crowds so far this season, it MUST continue. The Broncos MUST be undefeated at home this year.
I know what it is like to watch the old school tapes. B-Love has supplied me with many a memory (I am ready for more B). I hope the energy of the crowd from the second half of the Charger game and the whole Chief game will carry over to the rest of the season.

Right on man. That's good to hear. It only takes a nut or two per section to get things going. Not sure why it is that way but alot of people want to raise hell but choose to stand pat until someone gets up. Herd mentality I guess.
The key Shay is getting more locals on this board. We've been at this for a couple years and our local base is still pretty slim. It would be cool to get hardcore fans from every section in here so we could coordinate our efforts. The thing with locals I think is they are bombarded with Broncos news from the local media so they are less inclined to need the mane for news? I guess? They are joining but at a slower pace than the out of town Broncos fan. Eventually I see the tailgate forum expanding into sections. For example AK1971 is up in 502. That could be a subforum. South Stand forum etc.
For the first time just recently another tailgate group joined the Mane. There has been us and tailgatenut until recently. We now have guys in Lot R inviting omaners out there. That's awesome! I'm hoping to get more local tailgaters involved in the Mane. Alot of them know about it but it just takes time for people to register and get involved.

Noob here- I got invited by the OrangeMane bus by Meck for the Cheifs game and had a blast. Heck of a time those guys have. I have had season tickets for 7 years or so and got to see some loud games in Mile High. Monday was as close as I have ever seen it to being Mile High loud. I really respect what Meck and that whole crew is doing with the tailgating and getting the old fan attitude back to the stadium. I have seen too many things happen with the seats around me that I dont like, but it seems like the fans are starting to get the seats back vs strangers in the seats every time, talking about how their company owns the seats and whatnot. Not saying thats a bad thing, but when the tickets are a selling point or a perk, the fans dont seem end up at the game.
Anyway, I will do my best to help keep the noise level high! Great site and Im glad I found it!

Well, this is one local who doesn't much bother with the local media for his Bronco news. Hell, the mane usually has it at the same time as, or even before the media! I kinda slowed down there for a while, but I'm back now!

Speaking of rooting from afar, word out of St. Louis hasn't been very good about our Blues. Looks like they really cleaned house.
Yeah B, looks fugly. At least the die hards on the fan board say.
The puck drops tomorrow. Can anyone believe how little hype this thing is getting??
Outdoor Life Network. Yikes.

Even though they did end up getting the garbage-time TD, I was delighted that it wasn't Quitterson who put the points up.
Oh, yeah... and the IN-COM-PLETE chants were pretty loud, too. :giggle:
For sure, it was the best weekend ever... although Hotrod's wife might not have thought so. She was such a good sport, though.
