See, the point of football is to score more points than your opponent. I don't know if that was clear or not. But it is, really.

I also love this gem, although it comes from the Madden Video Game: "Tell your line to block on this play... Tell them to block on every play."

Thanks John.

My friend thought that he said "The Big Nipple"

The single best line from Madden was from last year's NE-KC MNF telecast.

After discussing at length the Chiefs troubles leading up the game and chronicling New England's impressive feats in the year up to that point, he concluded by saying: "And that's why New England is New England and Kansas City is Kansas City".

The only problem is, SoCal, is that was one of those "funny because it's true" statements... God forbid Madden actually make sense.

Am I the only one loathing having to watch the Broncos on Thanksgiving with that God forsaken 6-legged turkey?

Whose goofy idea was that!!! It had to be Madden's.

I can already see the telecast now... It'll cut to the van, he'll start circling the legs, and the stuffing, and everything... And then you'll see yellow spots start coming onto the screen, which is actually drool dripping from his mouth...

It's not going to be pretty.

but at the same time, it won't be pretty when our D-Line takes down the Statue that is Drew Bledsoe.

Has Bledsoe moved an inch in the pocket in the last 10 years?

Smells like stuffing......

Fortunately the Raiders pass rush might be even worse than KC's. Dallas has an excellent defense, especially against the run. I like the Cowboys.

I thought it was the Turdurkin (sp?) now. The combination chicken, duck, and turkey.

Madden licks Faver no doubt, but seriously I wonder how many other announcers would bother finding out and KNOWING the names of personnel in two different nickle packages. Madden coasted for a few years, but he's picked it back up a notch for MNF.

Madden buzz words are hilarious.

For all of you that have criticized Coyer over the last few weeks over playcalling and scheme you need to watch how Denver attacked KC's TWO TE sets.

He added three safety's instead of three CB's against KC when they went two TE's. This allowed an extra Run defender and Better Coverage at the same time. Sam Brandon has played Extremely well the last few weeks and he was superb in helping to shut down both the passing and Running games on MNF.

True enough on the critics. When madden first noted it, I thought WTF? They put DJ or Eon on the bench for Brandon? It was DJ, I later figured out. Thing is, it looked to work.

I'm a bit confused though. Not to bitch about Eon, cuase he's playing great, but if we are going 2lber against the 2TE as a base, I'd rather have had Wahle. Not bitching, but merely watching.

Well, this will be the last year probably.

And what is he going to do next year with no MNF?

Actually, they rotated Ian and DJ in the first half of the big nickel and then used Ian more since they were playing from behind and wanted his coverage on the second TE Wilson.

If it was closer DJ would probably gotten more snaps.

Thanks, I havent had a chance to view it again. I'll watch for the switch.

I'm still a little unsure how Den could stop the run from the 2TE set with 2backers and an extra safety, esp with Eon (again I'm not dissing him). I wonder if Den went to this whne they had a 3 possession lead, and the chorfs had to pass, or whether Den's dline just so dominated their oline that going "small" didn't matter.

Supposedly the 3WR one TE and One back is susectable to blitzing, esp on the weak side. Supposedly Payaton is such an amazing reader of defenses that the Payton Pussies go with this set anyway. Shanny went to the two TE either because he had to find a use for Putz after paying him the money, or because with 2 TE's teams cannot blitz very well.

REP! I saw Brandon out there but could not see the formation from TV & thought I saw Lynch & Fergy out ther on the same play. I am glad Coyer has his head out of his pipe & is actully trying something other than zong dogs.

I don't think this set has really spawned any big plays, I prefer the offset I with lots of different FB/HB/WR motion. Broncos run well out of this set, it is Shannys Lombardi type "Power Sweep" formation.

I was happy to see the Zone blitzes go out of the game plan. When you have the talent we have on the Dline sometimes it is best just to go toe to toe.

Madden on his stupidest day makes Thiesman look like a Desperate Sports Announcer. He's like William Shatner on stupid.

So what happens Berman and Jackson?

Bill Brasky? That sounds like a Saturday Night live joke with Will Ferrell.

On the last episode of NFL Primetime Berman mentioned that they would be back next year on Monday nights or something.

Sucks not having it right after the afternoon games anymore though, but at least we still get that combo.

It was a joke. I just thought Madden snd Brasky would would be great for one another? Did you know? "Bill Brasky once showed Madden a video of him making love to his wife, and it was the most beautiful thing he ever saw!"

I look forward to seeing those guys back out there.

Apparently Jimmy Johnson wants to be an announcer for life. I like that crew without Collinsworth but I miss real sports guys. I always took it for granted they would be out there.
