View Full Version : Are KC and Denver going to do this every year??

Wabbit made a big deal before the game about the media reminding Denver of the 45-17 blowout last and how KC "ran it up."
It was obvious Shanahan was trying to do the same thing last night (challenging Kennison's TD, having Plummer throw deep at the end of the game). I don't blame him. And I don't have a problem with it.
Do you think these hostilities are going to be repeated every year? Should KC get up big on Denver in KC, I'm not expecting Vermeil to back down.
Personally, I love it. It adds something to the rivalry.

Silence you buffoon!! You are at my command now.
Seriously, I would seriously be excited if this team can beat the Chiefs at KC without one person just doing it all.
That will just show me that this team is to be worth the excitement.
We are like 1-14 in case since the last 15 years.,

I dont have a problem with it on either side either. This is an intense rivalry filled with hatred. Both teams want to humiliate each other not just beat them. I dont have a problem either way.

Hopefully, it just gets worse, with each passing game. Then, it all erupts in another KC meltAdown on national tv.

Plus Shanahan wanted to make a statement on Monday night, when most of players and coaches are watching. There is swagger that comes with being good.
F' KC. They've always been a second rate team in our division and they've never known how to handle it. Last night was no different. We have the horses to sweep this year too. Last night was a statement game. Once again, the pretender chiefs chose to fight another day after getting smacked in the mouth. Its the same thing they do every year. Its the reason that we have two super bowls in the past 10 years and they have none.

I think the other thing that stood out to me was when the game was decided, the Broncos continued to bring the blitz. I couldn't believe Dick didn't put in Collins.
I'm just pissed that KC got to double digits in the pt category. We all know that shouldn't have happened but Walls played like a pu$$y on that tackle.

In addition to letting them get away with the TD, we also left 14 pts on the field. :pity:

I say you keep playing the game. It's the offenses job to score and the defenses job to stop it, I don't care what the score is, do your job. I understand becoming conservative to protect a lead, but you shouldn't hold back just because you are killing a team. If getting beat 30-10 or 45-17 hurts your feelings as a team, then freakin stop them.

Good point, if Denver had stopped Blitzing the Chiefs would of just kept throwing down the field and going with the No Huddle. if they Chiefs would of just tried to run out the clock in defeat with the running game then Denver would of stopped blitzing.

I hardly think that is leaving points on the field. I could be wrong but I think you scored on both of those drives anyway.
If you want to get into ifs and buts, the Chiefs gave your team a touchdown as well.

The blow-outs tend to run in short cycles...and the latest round has just played out, so I expect the final game this year to be viciously contested...regardless of record.
I know the Bronco players were angry last night, and maybe that's how you have to play this game today.
Shanahan did not take kindly to the 45-17 drubbing last December, and while he kept his feelings pretty much under wraps for some time, some anger & emotion came out this last week...it certainly did with the players...there were loads of unusable quotes.
Now, Vermeil is blowing up this sideline chatter from Champ Bailey as some kind of negative model to pump up his players.
Honest folks, if you stood along the sidelines for any game, you would hear a thousand 'liners' far more offensive than that.
This rivalry needs more calm heads than deeper intensity if we, as fans, want better games.
It looked to me like there were people on both sides trying to take off some heads last night, and that is a direct reflection of their coaching, either intended or inferred.
Regardless, if this reaches a head with this emotion December 4th, both teams had better enter the game healthy, 'cause they aint gonna leave that way.

Bob I sure that eye were to full of tears at the point of the game, but the were two of the three bad throws Plummer had last night. The second pass was defintely Shanahan rubbing it in.
By the way the only thing that the Chefs gave away last night was their manhood. Denver took what ever else it wanted .

Give me a break. Your offense started on the 13-yard line. We gave you that TD. This isn't even worth talking about so let's both STFU.

So when the Broncos gave the Chiefs the 4-yard line and then shoved them back and made them settle for three it should have been scored as a WHAT?!?!? -4 points.
Come on Bombed...err...Bobbed. There are no gimmies. Do you recall any smack that you given us about Denver's red zone performance?

KC really needs to stop scoring in junk time then onside kicking it when they are down by 25 points or more. Twice they did this. Also if they don't take their starters out and they keep trying to score then we should just keep doing the same.

I've already said....In December, when the Chiefs are up on Denver by Eleventy-hundred with 5 minutes on the clock....I want vermeil to throw the ball to run it up to Eleventy-hundred and SEVEN...7...see-eh-teah...NO! OCHO!

Amazing how it only took about 12 hours for the Chefs to go from crying about their team to promising revenge. What's the next stage of grief, acceptance?

Odds are bob we will lose. We are 1-14 there in December. Unlike KC fans most of us don't think a game where we don't ever win is a lock.

Well if Green, Holmes, Surtain, Bell, DJ, Kennison, Gonzo, LJ, Roaf, and Shields goes down I may say we can win there, other then that the odds are less the 50%.
