It very good locker room material. Last night on MNF mic. Champ stated that KC was playing soft, and he was surprise. Added this was not like the team they played in KC. A reporter asked Crymeil about the soft comment, and old Dick stated Kennison didn't say that Champ was not playing hard, when old Eddie scored on him last year. Dick did state that Champ was fine young man, and comment is why he won't let his player be mic'ed for games. This is getting good.

Vermeil upset with Bailey's in-game commentsAssociated Press
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Thanks to Champ Bailey and Monday night microphones, the Kansas City Chiefs should be well motivated for their next rematch with the Denver Broncos.
First the Chiefs (2-1) got embarrassed 30-10 Monday night at INVESCO Field, one of their worst losses ever in a long and often-bitter AFC West rivalry.
Then they found out that while the rout was taking place, the Broncos' star defensive back accused them on national television of not even playing hard.
"The way they played up there in Kansas City, it ain't the same, though," said Bailey, who was miked for Monday Night Football.
Speaking to teammates on the Denver bench after the Broncos had taken control of the game in the first half, Bailey was clearly heard to say, "They're playing a little different. They're not playing as hard. I ain't going to relax, though."
The Chiefs beat Denver last year in Kansas City 45-17, dominating the Broncos almost as thoroughly as they were dominated on Monday night. They will host the Broncos again in Arrowhead Stadium this Dec. 4.
"I know this -- none of our players said Champ Bailey didn't play hard when we beat them by three touchdowns last year out here," Coach Dick Vermeil said Tuesday. "Eddie Kennison [Chiefs receiver] didn't say that Champ Bailey was not playing hard."
The Chiefs' players had the day off and will get back to work on Wednesday for Sunday's game at home against Philadelphia.
Vermeil tried to downplay Bailey's remarks, but was clearly irritated.
"That's why I don't allow players to be miked. I don't know what [Bailey] was referring to. That's a player's opinion," he said.
An experienced broadcaster himself, Vermeil said he had always been against miking players.
"I just think the broadcast ought to be done by the guys in the booth," he said. "That's what they're professionally trained to do. I just won't put one of my players in that position."
As it turned out, Bailey aggravated a hamstring injury later in the game and was taken out. He had an MRI exam on Tuesday, but results were not immediately released.
"Champ Bailey's a fine kid, respected by everybody in the league," Vermeil said. "But you put a mike on him, you never know what you're going to hear. You catch some things guys say in frustration, and you use them to enhance the broadcast. But sometimes that embarrasses the player.
"I was asked if we could mike our players. The director and I worked together for six years and we're very close friends. I said no way.
"I say things I shouldn't say all the time, let alone put a player in the heat of battle and then have it used to enhance the broadcast and maybe sometimes it embarrasses the player."
Vermeil also said the Broncos outplayed the Chiefs in every way, and indicated that he, too, was not entirely satisfied with his team's effort.
"I think we can play better than that. I think we can play harder than that," he said. "I don't know if Champ Bailey said that to evaluate."

I think they are misunderstanding Bailey here. i heard and saw that comment take place and Bailey looked confused. he didnt say it to insult the Chiefs, he just seemed baffled as to why they didnt seem to be playing full speed. thats why he made the comparison to the way they played in KC last year. why Dick4meal would even suggest Bailey was taking a pot shot at them is just ludicrous. especially when Bailey said he wasnt going to relax while the game was still going. he just seemed shocked by the way they were playing. i didnt see it as a insult.

Good call. I think Vermeil is trying to "create" a quote that will motivate the chiefs. That must be on the "4" or "5" year plan (not the often stated "3 year plan" where Vermeil leads any team to a championship).
I noticed on Broncos site that Trevor said he thought Holmes must be injured because he wasn't playing as quick. Must have been all that mile-high-atmosphere that sucked the wind out of the chiefs. Funny stuff.
"I think we can play better than that. I think we can play harder than that," he said. "I don't know if Champ Bailey said that to evaluate." So he agrees with Champ, his team did play soft. So why's he crying? Oh wait, its Dicky Wha Wha.

Its only your first loss of the season, Bob. I think your overreacting a bit just out of frustration. Vermeil has been fairly successful in his tenure with the Chiefs and has shown Chiefs fans an exciting brand of football. You shouldnt be wishing for the end of his time there. There are unknowns after Vermeil. I have heard that King Carl does not want to make Saunders the next Coach despite Vermeil's wishes. There is uncertainty in the future. King Carl isnt exactly the best decision maker out there. Vermeil is a good coach who had a bad game.

It was pretty clear the Chiefs were flat. The Broncs can be proud of themselves, but I wouldn't hang a title on that one game. There's a long way to go, and the team has to face the Jaguars, the team that all they had to do to was win one of the last three last year, and they were in the playoffs over the Broncs.
Jacksonville is gonna bring their A game at home. The Chiefs were a nice respite from teams bringing their A games, and the Bronco players can be proud of themselves for playing a complete 3 phase game, but everybody knows the team has to do that for another 13 weeks, week after week. And then they have to play better. This is a solid Bronco team, but they have to keep this up for another 16 weeks, and the last 3 weeks they have to play even better.

Vermeil completely disregarded the defensive side of the ball until last season when he addressed. it. I hate to be the bad news bear, bob, but Goonther's game planning and playcalling aren't as good as you think. Everything worked last night for us. And we weren't doing anything different either. Mis-directions, bootlegs, and running the puppy Goonther's seen us do that forever! I don't see the genius in Cunningham. He was a solid coordinator. Time to call it a career.

4 or 5 year plan? Seems like most of the coaching staff and King Carl are on the PENSION Plan. That whole team and organization should just build their personal nursing home. Other than Derrick Johnson, the whole team looked old and slow. Johnson just looked like the rook he is. The locker room must smell like an old folks home.
Think about it. Lamar Hunt...Dick4Meal...King Carl...Quitterson...Roaf...Trint...Priest...Goonth er...on and on and on. By the time the Chefs finally tried to address glaring weaknesses in their D, the Offense had lost it's "POP". Too little, too late...and no amount of whining will change that.

Why would he be upset that Pryce and Bailey said that the Chiefs didn't bring their A-game? It's a compliment. It's basically saying that they are a better team than was on the field and they will do better this year. "Soft" is being kind. They looked like crap all game.

Actually what Champ said is that KC was playing soft, but he wasn't trusting that and wasn't going to let up on them. Some of this stuff is taken out of context, anyway...guys always talk smack on the field.
That being said, KC looked totally flat and disinterested. Their gameplan made no sense to me, either (3-7 yard dink passes short of first downs) and then plowing the running backs into darkness. Stupid. http://scosoft.com/s/m/3b078124.gif

Actually, he IS a nasty person.
Every so often, I have to remind people.
The Dick is the guy who freed Leonard Little to play the weekend after her murdered a woman in a DUI accident. (After which he was quoted by police on the scene as saying "look what that bitch did to my ****ing car."
The Dick made sure he was suited up to play the very next weekend.
The Dick also went to great lengths to befriend Lawrence Phillips, in spite of his criminal past and history of abusing women. Even after repeated run-ins, The Dick continued to want to bring him back to St. Louis.
... and while the player's name is escaping me, Vermeil also drafted a Safety when he was with the Rams who was arrested in college for a gang assault on another student (multiple guys beating up one guy) over a gambling debt. When told about the incident, Vermeil responded.. "I always like a guy who can finish a fight."
His crying routine is more likely a byproduct of him being chemically imbalanced (read: insane) than being a "caring" fellow.
This guy is a piece of walking dog excrement. Actually, that's insulting to dog excrement.

More crap from Dick. You shouldn't have been throwing to begin with.
Q: Last night Shanahan on his pre-game show went through some stats that he said he didn’t like the way the game ended in Kansas City last year, thinking you ran it up on him. Did you get that feeling that they were doing that on the reverses and when they reviewed that late play?
VERMEIL: “I don’t get into that stuff. I knew how they felt about how the game ended last year. The end of the game last year we threw a deep pattern to Eddie Kennison. It was called a three-pattern quick out. It was press coverage and in press coverage a quick out thrown six yards turns into a fade and a take off. It just so happens that’s what happened and Todd Collins threw a perfect strike and it looked like we were trying to score from 60 yards out, which we were not.
“But that’s their interpretation and if that’s what they need to get a team ready to play mentally then use it. I would. I have no problems with it or what other guys say. But our intent was not to score 52 points.”

Yes, I agree 110%. Your management totally sucks but it starts at Carl Peterson who is only interested in filling the stands and not winning SB'S. This is per KC sports talk radio over the last three years there have been many calling for Carl's head and rightly so. You don't have one of the top offensive units and sit on your behind watching them get old. At least they added some people this year, a little too late IMO. The O is starting to crack with old age and injuries, it had to happen they have been lucky with injuries and time not catching up to them on the O. Their luck has run out and without a standout D they are screwed.
Two years ago start adding several pieces to the D each year you have something, now the O has DEFINITELY started to slow and no I am not just talking about one game in Denver...look at the Raiders game , not impressive at all.
Carl waited too long to do something and probably then only because of fan's unrest and their vocal calls for his job in the media. Dickie V is a good coach but Carl should have been gone years ago.

That would have been funny.
But making comments about DT's dead father, which is what is actually rumored to have been said, is not...
What about making fun of DT's 6 kids by 4 women??? That seems kind of funny.

Pretty sure Derrick lost his cool when Sharpe repeatedly relayed the information to him that his girlfriend was complaining about the size of Derrick's feet.

Good point when I heard about this after his death it definitely made me think a lot less of him as a person.
If I am not mistaken he was NOT married to one of them, even worse. Very irresponsible regardless of what else he did in the community .

What is it about Bronco fans that when challenged, they always wanna talk about someones cock?
Is there an underlying message here?

Wow, the chorfs get their asses handed to them on MNF when they had a chance to pretty much toast the broncs div hopes, and they NEED the other teams comments that they SUCKED to get up for their home game?

Who was challenged? Just providing information here pal.
I believe it's an exercise in futility for men to compare cork sizes in an effort to reveal the better man, a man's worth has nothing to do with that, so I will not engage in some worthless banter with you over this subject.
Besides, mine's much bigger than yours.

Then again, there's always the possibility that this Bronco D is even better than we think.

Maybe, but when Vermiels guys get their asses kicked, why does Vermiel alwyas whine and cry? Cork size? Or defense? You be the judge.

Nobody will be better than Ali. He beat Frazier and Foreman with his mouth as much as his ability. LOL
But sharpe in that KC game....priceless.

Pretty much. Dick 4 Meal always has excuses. I'm tired of his act and am definitely ready for a new coach.
You can have Norv Turner in about 2 weeks. Greasy Al will demand to be wheeled down to his office & have a random Freak from the Butt-hole kick Norv's ass & throw him out in the street (after he sues him of course).

I always thought Sharpe sounded like he was talking with his mouth full.
That's enough to piss anybody off.

Were these comments before or after he was helped off the field?
It's not as funny as Ray Lewis being miked.
But funny just the same.
Champ was playing at that point. And the comments were on the sideline talking to Al Wilson I think. It not like he told Crymail that his players were soft to his face.

Why would he be upset that Pryce and Bailey said that the Chiefs didn't bring their A-game? It's a compliment. It's basically saying that they are a better team than was on the field and they will do better this year. "Soft" is being kind. They looked like crap all game.
Soft WAS being kind. But you can be sure as the sun will rise tomorrow that these comments by Bailey will be brought up again the 1st week of December.
