Regarding a couple thoughts on SoCals analysis.
I wouldn't mind letting D-Will on the corner blitz. He's fast enough and a streak off the corner that one sack. And he isn't going to miss the tackle, usually. He will improve on that. That's a price of being agressive.
I agree that they will let Walls take the other corner, which should leave it for Williams inside, for now, a more natural position, but I dunno...as SoCal said, considering the skill of Gonzo, we might want to put Bailey inside on Gonzo and let D-Will cover Kennison. On a corner blitz, I send D-Will on what would appear to be a press coverage then blitz him on the corner letting Brandon maybe or Fergy roll behind him.
It's all a matter of jellin'. Honestly, and not to knock SoCal's analysis, but I still like the 3-3-5, but I dunno how much I have seen it. I just know that you can't forget the Chef's RB's or line in the running game. I think 6 in the box with a D-Will or as said, a Lynch blitz or even Fergy could cough up the ball. Let Brown and Pryce keep TriInt in the pocket and let the LB's chase down LJ and Priest.
I have always liked press defense, so I don't think playing off makes that much sense when we played man so well last week. I don't see the need to go zone when I can't imagine any WR on KC's team that is some great threat. I don't see a reason to let up on the pressure. The playmakers are the RB, Gonzo and maybe Kennison, but he's even older. D-Will is another game wiser, and Champ is another week healed.
I also liked what I read about Courtney Brown.
Offense:
WTF would they be starting Anderson with ribs, but they will. It's time to see if Dayne can do anything in a role. MNF isn't probably the place, but look...Anderson is hurt, Bell is hurt, Q is insurance. Get the ball to Kyle Johnson more and Rod Smith.
I heard Jake Plummer's comments and they turned my stomach. The offense lays an egg for the first 6 quarters and Jake thinks it's all the fans were booing about? Fans were booing about alot of stuff. Now I don't boo, but if the QB doesn't know some fans are just booing the QB he's quite mistaken. I'm more of the cusser than boo bird. If Jake wants to call that booing whatever. Last time I booed was a MNF game at home against Oakland when we had a 24-0 lead and lost 30-27 in OT. I was booing that moron Reeves. Elway flipped off Shanahan in that game. Priceless.
There are serious problems in the offense. Anderson is wearing a flack jacket for at least 2 more weeks, Bell's ankle is hurt, and he's not been impressive when healthy. Q just got resigned. Who knows his condition. He might of gone on a crack spree, but probably knew he could get a call.
The WR's and OL are extrememly dissapointing. Why did it take Kubiak 7 years to pitch left like we did constantly to TD, this time with Dayne. It was a carbon copy of the 4th down pitch to TD that sealed an important game. Start Anderson, see if he still looks slow, then bring in Dayne.
Back to WR's. Alexander hasn't shown anything, Jackson looks like a wasted spot but is still injured. Watts has been horrible and Lelie inconsistent as Plummer. Only old warrior is Rod Smith. Putz is starting to get it.
Well that's not a very well formulated article, but more of a train of thought. Sorry I'm not homering on like Bob, who doesn't even have a clue that offense is the epitome of the over the hill gang.
