View Full Version : Something I think Plummer is good at and doesn't do.

Run when no one is open. A few times this year he had stayed in the pocket to get sacked or throw it away when he could tuck it and run for 5+ yards. Jake ran like hell in college and pretty well in AZ, granted he probably isn't as fast but he is fast enough. Anyone else agree? :hitself:

I completely agree, there were several instances last sunday where he had 5-10 yards in front of him, then chose to throw it away or force an incompletion.
He's also dealing with a bum knee, which may be limiting him. Also he wants to show he's a pocket QB. Plus staying healthy may be on his mind now that he;s getting older.

I do not want him to worry about anything. When you worry bad things happen. Just go out and move the chains.

Yep, keep it simple and build some consistancy...

yea, i think Jake is second guessing himself out there a lot which either leads to his sacks or to a turnover. he may never get out of that kind of funk but he does have the ability to make something happen. which begs to question if he did run more it would take some of the heat off him because the defense would be hesitating when rushing him.

I like the fact that he is determined to become a pocket passer. He did alot of that in the second half against SD and it worked. It just goes to show you his thought process. Running is always in the back of his head, because he is athletic enough to be effective when he takes off. It just appears that now he is keeping it in the back of his head a little bit longer.

I thought Masturbating was the answer at 1st but I don't know any guy that doesn't do that.
He may be hurt worse than Shanny wants the rest of NFL to know. He has scrambled well & got around a TON of pressure this year but he does not look to have the speed or quickness that he had even last year.
If it is not an injury & he lost a step (even Elway lost a few steps!) then his career in Denver will be short.
I want to believe that Shanny prefers him to stay in pocket & make something happen with his arm over his Feet.

I forgot to add the fact that we only have 2 QB's on active roster. If he does run & get Creamed we are down to BVP. This has to have a lot to do with him not running, just look at Ron MEXICO, he is hurt already from running too much.

I totally agree. I also think that Jake should play from the shotgun some. Put jake and Q or bell back there and go 4 wide and do stretch runs, QB draws, RB tosses and draws, and WR screens.

I would like to see him strech defenses around the goal line with roll outs and such I think it could help with out red zone woes !!

Yeah, you've gotta spread that offense out and find little spaces. Dump passes, roll outs, etc.
