Forget the talk that Indianapolis defensive tackle Corey Simon is playing for his future. Contrary to reports, including one in an ESPN.com "Tip Sheet" two weeks ago, the $8 million option bonus the Colts owe Simon next spring is fully guaranteed. It's guaranteed for skill and injury and there is also a non-exercise penalty of $8 million. So if Simon is injured, the Colts still owe him the money. If he is released, he still gets paid. And if the Colts don't exercise the option, yep, he collects then too. The upshot is that Simon will be around in 2006, meaning he'll earn a whopping $16.045 million in his first two seasons with the Colts, and $20 million if he sticks around through 2007. Simon logged 26 snaps on Sunday and, although he's still overweight and out of shape, is starting to make some difference. He's clearly, and quickly, becoming a locker room leader

They have quite a few high contracts. I really don't understand how they have a future.

man, edge is as good as gone next year. That will hurt them for sure. And Wayne too.... i know Dungy wanted a Defense, but at what price?

I think Pryce cut his cap number from around 9 to 5 million, but releasing him would of cost money too.

I think Denver should try for Wayne if he is cut.

Just because Wayne can play Walls or Roc like a fiddle doesn't mean he's a star.

Highest cap value in our team last year.
Highest Cap value out of all the DL out of all the NFL.
This year his cap will rise to 9-10 million. I don't know his freaking whole salary and I dont care. I don't care about how much they get. That's up to the owners. All I know is the cap value is what impacts the team.

Well I guess it could still be ok for the Colts for atleast two more years. Mannings contract says he is making a Mill this year and next year, BUT in 08 he makes 11 mill. Look at this!
2005 665000.00
2006 1000000.00
2007 1000000.00
2008 11500000.00
2009 14000000.00
2010 15800000.00
2011 14000000.00
2012 14000000.00

I really don't think it matters as long as they have Manning, an o-line, and a d-line...the rest will take care of itself.
