Anyone who had worries aobut our Defense should put them to rest. It's nice to have some weapons on D and special teams, now if only we could get the O to show up....

Despite MAs best efforts to allow San Diego to win the game by fumbling AT the goalline, Ron Dayne destroyed the clock and moved the chains in the fourth.

Deltha O'Neal had 3 INTs today.

Courtney Brown recovered a fumble, sacked Brees and was all over the backfield all day.

Ian Gold had a stellar performance.

Champ Bailey runs back a pick for a TD

Nick Ferguson still blows. Can we cut him and resign Willie so we have someone that can actually COVER Gates Dec 31st?

I have to dissagree with this not being a playoff team. Pretty much everyone is equal this year. The Pats didn't look good at all today but that doesn't mean they are a bad team. Its just the way the NFL goes. A win next week and we are leading the division.

Yeah MA did great screwing us out of a TD and really ran hard and with great vision... I love how he lowers his head and plows into D-linemen behind the line of scrimmage. 3 yards a carry is unbelievable! MA is definitely MVP of this week and in the game against Miami!

The team didn't dominate or anything (well the D dide in the second half), but I think I saw a lot of growing as a whole. Ash did a good job making up for last week, Adams is looking like a solid #3, Rod is Rod. Maybe Dayne will be the man, though things were set up nicely for him though, he didn't do any better than MA early in the game. There was a lot to build on, and if our D doesn't revert to week one, we should be in most games.

All I can say is, I'm relieved. A win is a win, is a win, etc. Whew. Without the D scoring and sacking, this team goes nowhere. It will be interesting to watch a season with a good D and no O. I'm tempted to start thinking about the draft, but that just doesn't seem right this early. Relief. One down, fourteen to go. First time in a long time I've heard the Broncos booed off the field at the end of the first half. I have a feeling this offense hasn't heard the end of the boos.

I agree, the O looked bad, but their were some great things that did happen . We got Dayne to run out the clock, Ash, made all sorts of grabs, and Adams looks like he will have that number 3 spot in a lock by seasons end. And even Watts had a catch and dragged his guy for a first.

I dunno what switch or bullwhip Coyer got out of his locker, but the Defense totally came out different in the second half. He must of gone postal on them.

It's a win. It's good that Elam wasn't a complete goat. This O-Line has to be fixed...THIS SEASON...a trade, something. Deltha looked like a freaking All-Pro today for Cincy. Figures. That team is pretty good, or the HornHeads are just horrible. Probably both.

At any rate, it was a nice recovery by the D, which completely shut S.D. down in the second half. Did Lelie even play today? I didn't see the game, just followed it in the chat room, but people were complaining out the O-Line.

I have suffered thru the Hornheads for two weeks, and I can't really put a finger on it. CullPecker has to obviously be seeing different coverages now. Losing Birk for the season at center hasn't helped, or losing the Whizzinator. They have been absolutely horrible for two weeks. I think one thing we need to keep in mind is that Dayne didn't come in until SD had already played 3 quarters having to grind down MA. Dayne had fresh legs and is apparently not a terrible running back. I give him props, but I'm not sure he would have been able to do what he did if he had taken all of MA's snaps too.

I agree the BIG story here is what in the HELL happened at Halftime ???!!!

I have NEVER seen a team go from totally inept to Totally AWESOME in the space of 15 minutes like that!!

I was ready to call the paramedics at half as our Defense had ZERO heart and then they come out like a hybrid of the 1985 Chicago D and 2001 Ravens!!

They have enough talent that a good OC should be able to come up with something to compensate for the loss of Birk. Isn't Minny to cheap to pay for a good coordinator though?

I agree Ratboy, Darrent is the man and let Walls see if he can beat out Fox for the nickle. Walls watches the guy catch and then tackles him but rarely makes a play on the ball. DW just has that special something that deserrves to be on the field. Did youy see how high he jumped for the near INT at the goal line?

The only problem is that if he's running all over the backfield on every play it will effect how good he can be on punts and KOs.

Maybe he can return all kicks in the first half and then let Adams return in teh late 3rd and 4th quarter and let DW start at right corner.

The kid can tackle way better than Walls too.

Had a lot of different guys clamoring for the ball in the 2nd half, and came through when they had it in their hands. Nice game, and that is the highest praise I can give. Champ was awesome... no doubt about it. Darrent was great, in coverage and in the return game.

The biggest change I saw was in Al Wilson. That MFer came to play. I've been a staunch critic for the past couple seasons. In the first half he had a big whiff on LT and didn't look to "into it".

BIG time adjustment at the half for Al. He was a mad man in the second half.

Ian Gold was incredible as well. He played a very good game. It tells you something about his play when we are taking DJ Williams out of the game in the Nickel and leaving Ian out there. Once DJ steps up his game our defense will be sick. I'm hoping we barely got a taste of whats to come during the 2nd half. Maybe Shanny went to Coyer and said "Hey Larry, I don't care how much we show...but show it!"

My game ball goes Champ but mainly b/c it was a gutsy performance as much as it was a dominant one! Great Game!

Makes sense? That's what was killing us in the first half!!! We started off in the 2nd half with Bailey on Keenan and you didn't hear from his ass again!!!

Bailey also played on Keenan in the first half as well and played a few yards off of him as well. I believe it was Keenan who caught the pass in front of Bailey which setup SD second TD. When Denver came out in the second half whatever adjustments they made led to tighter coverage by all CBs.

All I know is Champ pounced on that out pattern like Beezlebub snagging a wren midair and took it to the house.

Champ Bailey for President!!!! Anybody that thinks that trade with Clinton was a bad move is an idiot IMHO.

Oh, trust me...as soon as Champ gives up a play they will come crawling out of thier holes.....again... tsk tsk

When Champ Bailey can run for 150 yds and five TD's then I will consider myself an idiot for not liking the trade. Have you seen our running game lately? I think champ is a great player and all but their is a lot of CB's in this league who would have made that play. Brees was staring at him the whole time.

I'll reply to that. Bad move. Set the team back two years. Maybe Dayne can prevent the trade from setting the team back three years.

Or sooner.... ROFL!

While I will agree that jumping a route isn't anything new for CB's, I would also argue that with the way our O-Line is in dissaray, CP wouldn't be running for 150 and 5 TD's now either. So, it's kind of a toss-up still, IMO.

Hes an unblockable machine. Trents about to meet his maker. Lets just hope he doesnt practice too hard throwing his arms around.

LOL

I have a feeling they keep Courtney locked up in a hyberbaric-oxygen chamber filled with bubble wrap and a feeding tube with the instructions of:

To be opened for GameDays only.

Use only as directed and refunds will not be honoured!

I know I've busted his balls but I'm glad the guy opened up his season in Denver on the plus side and I don't mean the sack and forced fumble but staying away from injury the first game!

Just look at the guy though, in this photo he makes Warren look like a runt!

Slow start for the beginning of this season as compared to the usual. Will be interesting to see where we end up once the season is completed.

I highly doubt Brown will do much against KC. He looked like a chump against us when he played for the Browns. I have video of it.

Roaf is back this week, too.

Putz also needs to get some love today, he made the catch on 3rd and 8 that kept the drive alive in the 4th for winning field goal. By the way that pass was horrible form Plummer.

I replayed that pass on TiVO...It was the only place he could've of thrown it without the shallow LB getting his hands on it. If he had thrown it a bit earlier, it would've of been perfect. Tough to see the throwing lanes from our couches! IMO, Jake's passes looked pretty good (accurate) yesterday all in all.
