Fighting is fun!
I just got back from Kansas City where I saw my favorite team the Jets play the Chiefs. After starting to drink at 10am on Saturday, the day quickly took a turn for the worse when our group went to a strip club. After telling a couple strippers I was in the band Interpol (who was playing down the street) my pockets were $500 lighter so I realized it was time to go home. (By the way when you are in a small city it is always a good idea to tell strippers you are in a band. Don't go for a U2 or anything but a nice midsized one. Check the cities local free paper to see who is intown. If you tell 5 girls you'll put them on the list for the next nights show, I guarantee that at least one will hangout with you after she gets off. That being said I am married and got NO FREE DANCES but I did help out a friend.)

On Sunday we went to the game and had a great time tailgating. There was a group of five 20 something guys sitting next to us in the stadium. They were all obviously drunk. One of them, who was wearing jean shorts and a diamond stud earring, kept coming up to us after the Chiefs scored yelling **** like:

"Yeah this is how we do it in KC"

and

"OOOHHH I didn't mean to bring the PAIN"

I kept laughing at the guy, congratulating him for playing so well and scoring all those touchdowns. I also complimented him for dressing like a gay, retarded kid from 1985 with his outfit. Well around the fourth quarter, those guys got really quiet. When I looked over, the loudmouth's face was gushing blood. It turns out one of his "buddies" headbutted him after a Chiefs touchdown and broke his nose. The aggressor was then forcibly removed from the stadium and arrested.

I guess that is how they do it in K to the motha fu-ck-in' C

P.S I caught this mullet at the hotel bar. Nice. Notice he's talking sweet to the female bartender. I bet she woke up with two black eyes and a baby on the way!

before I (finally) moved to Denver from KC, the last game I was at these girls behind us (who obviously knew nothing about football) kept talking about "how cute the KC mouse is." Arrowhead hosts some really, really smart people!

Thanks for sharing your story :) I especially love the mullet!

So you went to an NFL stadium and found a few cluless people?

I loved my time at Invesco...met all kinds of great folks...there are always those one or two idiots.

As soon as I sat down with my buddy a guy looks over at me and asks "So where is Derrick Thomas??? Is he going to make any tackles out there today?"

I basically shoot it off amazed at the level of class...I then later had to step in and correct him when he mentioned "Thats what a guy gets for driving drunk."

Wow...

It happens.

You know, all smack aside, **** KC. Seriously though, the only division rival stadium I have been to is that cesspool in Oakland and to be fair to the fans around us, it was pretty laid back. Of course, the whole night we were losing, it was the last game Terrell Davis played in Oakland btw, but the fans around us were civil and calm (of course, only civilized people could afford the ****ing tickets where we were at) and even bought me and my pops a few beers.

I have been to SF and other than everyone looking like a queer to me, perhaps it was because I was in SF proper, they weren't hostile at all.

In New Orleans, all we found was people conceeding that Denver was gonna stomp a mudhole in them. They were just there for the beer.

In Houston the crowd is always friendly to me. Of course it helps when I tell them I am also a fan of the Texans but Denver is my first and true love, they all understand. Twice I have had beer bought for me (one wasnt even at a Houston Denver game - which have only been in pre-season in Houston thus far), and thats how I measure the friendliness of a stadium. If they buy me beer, especially if my team is down.

Texas Stadium is a fairly normal atmosphere. You do have your drunken Rednecks screaming "HOOOW 'BOUT DEM COWBOYS!" to which someone else in your section will reply with a "YEE HAW!" Sounds very stereotypical, but it was very stereotypical being there. Lots of different kind of folk live up there in Dallas, but them damn rednecks take their Cowboy's seriously.

Them's the only stadiums I have been to.

So... I don't find too much to the article except to think the writer is a moron who should have his ass kicked on a regular basis.

The worst KC Fan has to have more gray matter than someone who chronicals their own idiocy.

The funniest thing is how Bronx33 managed to blow 500 bucks and not even get a sympathy knobber.

Funnier is he tells us. I have never spent more than 40 bucks in a hoe bar. I am supposed to make them like me? Give me a break. Stone cold fact is they scowl but respect you more when you treat them like the trash they are. If they want a 50, they can take me in the VIP room.

I've actually been told that you get some respect if you're brave enough to show up to a Raiders game in Broncos gear... I don't know that I'd reccommend anyone testing that theory...

I went to my first away game this preseason at the Vikes. It sucks when you lose at your own stadium and have to go home. It really sucks when you ahve to leave someone else's stadium and everyone is giving you a hard time.

Went to a game after that at Arrowhead, saw some folks in the opponents garb. Some of the guys I was with started giving them a hard time and said something to me, in which I replied "nah, I know how they feel now having done it myself. I'll give them some props for coming out here and supporting their team."

With that said, I probably wouldnt go to Mile High or Oakland in my Chiefs gear. I'd definitely go, but not sure I'd be donning the Red and Gold :(

I don't know. Never been to a game in Den, so it's hard to say.

I did go to the old Mile High to watch the Rockies play in their inaugural season, but that's about as close as I've been to a Denver football field...

Been to Narrowhead four times vs the Broncs. I cheer for my team like I am sitting in front of my tv at home. F###
them if they don't like me rooting for my team.

I do not curse or run down the Chefs, just support my team to the max. Have had beer thrown on me several times for doing nothing but above.

Just to add the best time out at ole Narrowhead was the Monday night meltdown....30-3 Broncs where Shannon
got in the head of Thomas and had Thomas pulling him aroung with his face mask. Chefs fans pretty quiet but drunk and I literally took a few licks that night getting out of there.

Dude, Denver is one of the friendlier places for opposing fans. I've been there many times against many teams and other than the usual percentage of drunken nimrods found in every stadium, people are there to watch the game, root for their team and have a good time.

I went back in 99 to CHoakland...it was Networks Associates then...anyway, I was wearing my Sharpe jersey in the parking lot...All kinds of people were looking at me runnin' their mouth and what not...Anyway, I almost had a confrontation with some guy, and my friend who was a Raider fan, calmed the other guy down...After that, I walked back to my car and took the jersey off...Under that I was wearing a shirt I got from Super Bowl XXXII...that had a picture of both Brett Farve and John Elway...Anyway...we walked up to our seats and were chillin out, and some old lady like 40 years old wearing an Elway jersy was looking for her seats...Some Raider thug chick stood up in front of her and poured beer on her, they got into a little scuffle before the security guards stopped it...The raider girls boyfriend was about to beat up the old lady's son too...I was going nuts because it was happing all infront of us...So, I looked over to my friend and was like dude, If they are doing this kind of stuff to on old lady and young boy, what are they going to do to a 20 year old...I took of my shirt and basically wore a white shirt the rest of the game...Everytime Denver made a play, I put the shirt over my mouth and started to yell...At the end of the game, which the Broncos had won 16-13 (which is like the average outcome of every Broncos/Raiders game) I put my Sharpe jersey on as soon as we got to my car...He had broken his collerbone that game, and i was talking smack while we were waiting to leave the stadium...People were threatening me saying they'll do worse than a broken collar bone to me if I dont STFU...so I did, I just kept screaming "CHoakland!!!" every time somebody walked by...

So TJ, I really dont think they (raider fans) show any respect to Broncos/Chiefs fans...just because we're rivals...Other teams though, I wouldnt worry...

I don't sweat anybody trying to walk up on me. What I can't abide are the little weasels who throw crap at your back from 30 rows behind you. You turn around and you're confronted with a sea of hostile faces and no clue to the identity of the perpetrator. Trying to threaten the whole section is not recommended.

It didn't seem like that last year, I flew up to Oakland for the Denver game, and made a quick decision to not go into the stadium with my Broncs gear on. I was getting some pretty strong threats while tailgating, and figured the stadium might even be dangerous, especially since I knew we were gonna hammer them.
