Scott Parks, Entercom news in KC (on 610 am) reports that Larry Johnson has been charged with 1 count of domestic assault. He's due in court later this month if I heard correctly. He turned himself in last night.

I'm not sure how it can be domestic assault if it did not happen in his home. I think it will be just a "assault and battery" charge, simply because he grabbed this ladies arm. Then it will be dropped because the woman is probably FOS>

Apparently, he was out with an ex-gf at a bar on the plaza, and his current gf caught him. Domestic altercation ensued, and he grabbed her arm and bruised her. He turned himself in last night, was arrested, and the trial will be at the end of the month.

When your a high-profile guy like LJ you gotta watch out for this stuff. Hitting women is never a joke and the police view even the slightest lash out as a problem. How much of this can the Chiefs take before it becomes a distraction?

Throw him in jail, is what I say. Get some of that mulleted police force and start cracking some skulls!

Interest issue, because Larry has already had previous incident (pistol whipping a woman) and was in domestic violence program for it, if found guilty he might be facing jail time and/or suspension from the NFL. Maybe House can give him the name of good lawyer. The are the kinds of incidents that ruin teams. There is definitely a lack of player discipline occur on that team .

http://www.ffmastermind.com/quickbits.php
AP reports RB Larry Johnson was arrested Monday night after an altercation with his girlfriend early Saturday morning at a Kansas City bar, the latest in a series of troubles with the law for Kansas City Chiefs players. Police Department spokesman Darin Snapp said Johnson turned himself in and was cited for domestic abuse assault. Johnson posted bond and was released, with a court date set for Sept. 20 on the misdemeanor charge. Snapp the girlfriend came into the bar and saw Johnson with a different woman. The 25-year-old girlfriend, of Overland Park, Kan., saw Johnson and walked the other way, Snapp said, but Johnson text messaged her on her phone and asked her to meet him downstairs. The running back then grabbed the woman by the arm and pulled her to the front door, Snapp said, where Johnson asked the manager to make her leave. The manager said he couldn't do that. Snapp said Johnson became irate after his girlfriend confronted his date. The running back grabbed the victim by the shoulders and shoved her, causing her to fall onto the floor, the police report said. The girlfriend told The Kansas City Star that the police report was wrong and denied that she was pushed or dragged to the door. Snapp said the woman told police she didn't want Johnson arrested, but instead just wanted the incident documented. Friends convinced the woman the next day to file a police report after seeing bruises on her arms, Snapp said.

Like rascal and a couple others mentioned above, this gets a little more problematic now.

If he was on a felony deferral program for an incident involving an ex-girlfriend (same one?), then any kind of offense could result in a revocation and a felony prosecution for the original incident.

Sounds like a misdemeanor assault to me (throwing her to the floor).

There seems to be a pattern of violence against girlfriends developing here, and I wouldn't be surprised to see a revocation --

The accusations come less than two years after Johnson entered a diversion program for a Johnson County, Kan., incident during which he allegedly brandished a gun during an argument with an ex-girlfriend at his Leawood home. He was charged in December 2003 with aggravated assault, a felony, and misdemeanor domestic battery.

This guy is just all class...

Ghetto......

Rod Smith had a little trouble early on keeping his tail in line also and that didn't make him a bad guy.

Rod Smith didn't have a repeat event.

Well, it appears that she saw that LJ was already occupied with her replacement, so she sort of asked for it when she "confronted" the newer one. I mean LJ couldn't let her put marks on the replacement. I wouldn't even treat a car that way.

I think if the new one had a lick of sense she'd get rid of her arms, right now.

We will find out soon enough but this hardly appears to be a repeat event. This event appears to be about as news worthy as a checkers match.

Well, after looking up the story, I admit I didnt' get it right. See, the old one saw LJ and the new one together, so she started to leave, but LJ instant messaged her to hold on, and come up, so she did. But the old one than caused the whole fracas by confronting the new one, as apparantly the old one didn't know about the new one and still thought she was the current one. So she misunderstood the situation right from the start. She prolly used some bad language too, "like what are you doing lewinskying my man?"

So, at that point, LJ had to do something to manage the situation, so he grabbed her and drug her over to the security guy and asked him to throw her old ass outside, but the security guy said he couldn't do that. Don't ya just hate these useless renta wannabe cop types? So LJ had to drag her old ass out by himself.

Good point. Just for their own safety both of them should have their asses removed, too.

Maybe a court should order all of his girlfriends to wear a sign: "I am LJ's current, to the best of my knowledge, poke. But, I've been known to make mistakes. If you see LJ grabbing, knocking me down, threatening me with a pistol, DO NOT TAKE ACTION. I have willingly placed myself in this situation and bear the responsiblility for my actions."

I guess that just depends... If she's got bruises, she's got a case.
