I try not to be too knee-jerk... I mean, it's easy to be pissed off right now...

But I'm slowly coming around to the idea of a new HC or at least a new OC.

Sorry Shanny...

I don't want to lose Shanny, but have been of the opinion that we have been stagnant and that he would benefit from a new OC.

"I did a poor job of getting the team ready in that situation and we didn't execute well. It was bad coaching, bad playing, just bad football. You can’t do that."

- Bill Bellicheck at his Sept 9th press conference after the Pats easily defeated the Raiders.

I just want to hear Shanny say something like this ONCE.

I watched it while the mane was down.. ticked me off cause it was nothing new. I especially liked when shanny said, "I dont know what went wrong, I cant really put my thumb on it."

I proceeded to yell, "Plummer you ditz!" :redpunch:

The was deflecting the whole press conference. I'm proud of taking responsibilty, altho he should of taken more.

This is the first time I have called for his head in the history of the OM. He looks exausted. Hiis eyes are sunken and he isn't totally pissed off. He's not even angry. Shanahan is done;. The guy is dying in front of our eyes.

He looks really, really tired. I'm concerned about him. He looked very tired. It might be time to push him upstairs. Should of hired Saban like I wanted.

You know, as someone who spends thousands of dollars on the Broncos every year, this is kind of performance and explanation is unexcusable. Its not just 'one game' they looked like this in the past, and nothing has changed. Do you go and see a crappy movie over and over again? ...no. Bowlen needs to start changing his 'product' or start to lose out.

yeah i was waiting for someone to ask him why he had tater run up the middle when clearly we were getting manhandled. Denverbroncos.com is full of sh** when they said shanny worked on the redzone for more than half the camp. How come no one asked him why we kept 3 kickers, 5-6 tight ends, 5 receivers, and only 2 running backs??? We need somebody from the mane to show up at these conferences. I vote for Kahn or TJ.

Well it was just a few weeks ago when I told Broncos marketing they better keep an eye on what the fans want because if this team slips and has a bad season or two the "Invesco crowd" is going to go away first and the people that will remain are the fans who have been with this team since the 60's 70's 80's (omaners). Even the SB bandwagoners will move on which many already have.

Wow the mane finally has woken to the fact that Shanny isn't the Shanny of 7 years ago.

His GM moves are head scratchers, his game plans are predictable. The piloy light is out folks.

The team will bounce back in week 2. Then all will be happy again. But to think this team is a Super Bowl team??? Sorry.

I'm scared what this guy will do if he's still here in March. I mean he will have two High draft picks to play with!

He's over stayed his welcome. It's time for new blood. Monte Kiffin (sp) anyone?

As for Snake. I still believe in the guy. He had bad throws early, critcal drops in the 2nd and silly play calls to run. Not to mention Jason Taylor was on his ass almost every play. If that was Greise or Kanell back there I'd say the Fins would have broken a sack record.

I can't remember seeing Shanny look like that. He appears to me like a guy who's just about ready to drop it and walk. No fire. No anger. Just resignation. Maybe he's just burned out. Ten years in his position is a prescription for getting cooked. At least he didn't breakdown and start weeping, like another coach I could mention. ;D

Just judging by Shanny's demeanor on that tape, I'm not holding out much hope against the Chargers. They may have barely lost to the Cowboys, but they played with fire. If this is what Shanny is going to bring to the week, resignation, I don't see things getting turned around anytime soon. Shiite. He looks bewildered. I've never seen that out of Shanny before.

Sure I threw out my 2 cents to them but honestly you guys already do a good job of it. That's why everytime an Invesco Sucks thread pops up I encourage people to post on it because marketing pays closer attention to what is going on around here than you might believe. How do I know ? As the great Mock would say "Because they told me so". The Denver Broncos marketing knows all about your cat beezle and your corn Mock.

PLEASE, everybody remember that this was only one game. Most of you were excited about this team one week ago. Now we went and lost in a place that we have never won, and everyone is on suicide watch. The only thing that has changed was one game.

No Bronco coach has ever won in Miami. It sucks, and it was a game we should have been able to win. But let's see how the next two or three games go before we start firing coaches, speculating about number 1 overall draft picks, etc.

On a side note, I have found it interesting how many people who had not posted in a long time all of a sudden had a barrage of posts, starting yesterday. I swear, some people just aren't happy unless they have something to complain about.

Just because we have never won in Miami is no excuse to not even show up. In fact that should be more than enough motivation to come out like a house a fire. To just say, oh we play bad in Miami is a defeatist attitude and a huge part of the problem with Denver. You know what they say about excuses...

Miami is a bottom feeder and to just roll over and die like yesterday is a continuation of the problem Denver has had for the last 5 or 6 years.

I didn't say it is acceptable to just roll over and die. I said that it wasn't the end of the season to lose a game in a place that we had never won.

And Miami has long been one of the most consistent franchises in the NFL. Last year, they sucked. Other than that, they have been good for 8 - 12 wins a year. How do you figure they are bottom feeders? Did you start watching football last year?

But it is more fun (& easy) to b**** and moan, so why look at things objectively? Shanahan sucks. The Broncos are the dregs of the NFL. Jake Plummer copulates with farm animals. Champ Bailey has a potentially career-ending injury. Blah blah blah blah blah.

Maybe I missed it on the telecast, but I want to see him on the sideline getting in someones face to pick it up ... the OLine, the TE's and WR who couldn't get open, etc. Lets see some game time passion in light of poor play, not just talk about it on Monday. well the dolphins game sure gave us a reality check, look the team is going to have to come out on all cylinders. I think the crowd at invesco should be helpful. Last week didnt look to good and i think we need to take a step back and see what went wrong on the tape.

It was 6-3 when Denver had lost 2 of their starting CBs.Then they lost a third and it was 108 degrees. The offense played poorly but I thought the defense played their best considering the circumstances. A couple of sustained offensive drives would have helped.

the problem is they made the same mistakes as last year, how many times were we in the redzone and blew it? Denverbroncos.com is full of it when they say shanny and co worked really hard on making new plays for the redzone, i sure as hell didnt see anything new.

Jake sucks...
O-Line can't run block...
O-Line Can't pass block...
Lelie Sucks...
Neither tight end can catch...
Neither tight end can block...
Shanahan is terminally burned out...
shanahan can't coach (gameplan)...

Shanahan can't make mid game adjustments...
Shanahan sucks as a GM...
Kubiac can't do anything right...
Our Defensive line still can't rush the passer...
Ian Gold really sucks...
our entire secondary (-champ) sucks...

Judging by all the cometary I'm reading here, either people are over-reacting or we are well on our way to 0-16...???

All from one loss. Wow. We're getting worse than last year. I can't believe that people are demanding that Shanahan walk out immediately. There's even threads about changing owners! Well there is nothing anyone can do about that.

I can't listen to Shanny say "disappointed" anymore. He says that 10 times per losing Press Conference.

It bothers me almost as much as when watermock uses that faggy feminine word "amusing". What a nerdy word for a guy to say.

I agree. I think the Coach/GM thing is to much to handle, not more than 2-3 years anyway. He does look burned out. The problem is we can't do anything about it because Bowlen is so happy polishing those 2 Lombardi's he's deluded himself into thinking Mike can do no wrong. About the only thing I can think of that would change his mind is if Elway went to him and told him he think's Shanny's lost it.

Kaylore, I love that image. Nothing like a little open panic to get things going. :o
Meanwhile, everyone should keep in mind coaches never attack their players publicly. You can be sure Jake and company heard an earful after the game behind closed doors. That plane ride home must've been pretty quiet.

i want to disagree with you...but i have sensed the same thing over the past couple of years.

when the broncos were on the 3 year string with all the victories and two rings, shanny really had the look. he was all business, his eyes could peirce through a mans soul and anything less than near perfection was not acceptable. he was the shrewdest of the shrewd.

sometimes i still see the same look in him, but honestly i feel like the look i see more often is bewildered. i hate to say that, as i still feel shanny can be the best coach in this league.

shanny has been humbled. there is nothing wrong with being humbled if you know how to respond to it. that guy in NE is a good example of that.

i don't get so caught up in what shanny says in his press conference...yes, it would be nice to hear him just admit he's been outcoached etc...but his press conferences are always predictable...he's always been fairly vanilla in his press conferences.

what does bother me is the lack of imagination on the feild. this analogy is silly, but it works here: when i play madden, i have developed plays that are guarantees for me. over time the defenses adjust to my style of play calling - and eventually the same plays don't work anymore. i get stubborn thinking back at how much yardage/scores they gained me in, so i keep using them...and before you know it, i am going 3 and out. i feel like the same stubborness is there with shanny's game plan. granted, i am just a monday morning qb...but man, i can predict the plays while watching...if i can do that...what is a seasoned d-c doing?

it's time to get innovative again. pull out the stops...go deeper in the play book. there is far too much talent on this team to be this bland. i am afraid though, the coaching personell isn't there to do it. i don't get the impression that kubiak has the balls to throw it out there. i am afraid the o-line isn't all that....

but alas, it is just one game. here is to hoping that an 0-1 start is exactly what this franchise needs for a wakeup call. it's better to get a wakeup call early in the season, rather than mid season when the feeling of invincible is creeping in. they know now that they have to be on top of their game every sunday to have a chance - coaches included....perhaps this is the best thing that could have happened to them!

Can't handle the throw out everything but the kitchen sink attitudes of some. Does Denver have problems, sure, can they be fixed, absolutely.

We are in the same position as the Raiders, Chargers, Vikings, Jets, Eagles....Is the ship sinking in every one of those towns? (Well lets not include the Vikings in that cuz they jumped off the ship in the second quarter) but my point is, We are still a talented team and this was one game, one stinking game.

Agreed. I think the fans could identify with Shanny better if he showed some emotion once in a while. He uses so many cliches and holds back so much of his intensity during press conferences that you could almost feel as though he doesn't care. I wanna see him come out and say that these guys' asses are on the line. I wann see him say that Ashely Lelie needs to pick it up for Charlie Adams will keep ascending the depth chart. As fans we were fired up yesterday and it doesn't help when Shanny comes out and drops the cliche bomb.

Kind of a minor deal really, but something I'd like to see him try once in a while. I think he lets these guys off to easy and the level of accountability needs to be cranked up at Dove Valley.

Don't forget the Rams. The Rams, Vikings, and Jets were just as pathetic as we were. I expected the Jets to lose, but they didn't show up either. The Chargers, Raiders, and Eagles all played respectably.

Anyway...You know we gotta roll with it. This is our team. Yeah they have warts and yeah the local media likes to examine them at nasium. But so what? If the team turns it around then we can give them a big **** burger to eat. It's the tough times that make you appreciate the good times. Imagine what it will be like next Monday when San Diego is 0 - 2. If Oakland manages to beat KC (which I am predicting), then life will look much better.

The Vikings had the game won despite 5 turnovers from CullPecker...Philly certainly had it's chances...the Raiders managed to at least put up 20 on NE...

Only the Jets (I think Pennington is done, he doesn't have an arm anymore), and even worse, Denver. Simply saying other favored teams lost doesn't come close to the egg, no...turd, that Denver left in Miami.

At that point then its time to reevaluate. Just weird how so many peoples opinions can change in one week from Shanahan and company being a genius for stealing all of Clevelands D-Line to Jake being ready to take the team to a new level after the preseason he had and right down the line to now this....everyone on the team being worthless.

Not saying that I am ok with getting their arses handed to them but I have no problem giving them a chance to redeem themselves. If they go 0-3 they I will admit we have a problem.

The difference is, with the exception of the Jets, that those teams played competitively. Denver laid a turd out there to an inferior team. A game that should have been won by 20+ was dropped. We've been beating the drum for years about creating turnovers and when the D gets it done the O goes out and plays dead. Just rolls over. That's what's so aggrivating about this loss. It was dispassionate play and playcalling. Broncos teams are usually some of the best conditioned in the league and our O was flat out gassed after warm ups. It was sickening and will remain so until this squad can prove otherwise. You're only as good as your last game and that last one was abysmal. I'm going to throw up now.

I noticed a nice little play that Andy Reid threw in last night that was a screen to the RB set off of a reverse. The WR came in fast toward the backfield as the RB was drifting out slow, as if blocking the backside pursuit, while one guard pulled. Went for about twenty and completely befuddled the defense. I thought, "That was a sharp little play." Sure would like to see Shanny put some stuff like that in.

Finally watched the press conference. Interesting that when pressed.... Shanahan brought up Lelie's name as a guy who's got to make plays when they're there. (Speaking of A$$' TD drop on 3rd and 5 at the endzone.) Harped on the lack of run game, poor protection and Ashley's bad play.

Stupid coach... he doesn't know what he's talking about.
