They beat Pitt in their own house, they beat Michigan at their own house. Fairly impressive. I'd rank them up there..maybe not as high as 11 though.

yea GB, what gives? i dont think Vtech could of beaten Mich in their own house. i honestly think Vtech is ranked to high but thats the way it is. but for the Irish to go and beat not just one, but two ranked opponents is pretty impressive. and seeing how OU is looking like a poser i can understand why Dame would jump that high.

I agree after those two impressive wins they probably should be in the top 5.

Very deserving. They earned every bit of it.

By the way they went #20 after beating Pitt. So from #20 to #10.

I am crossing my fingers hoping Notre Dame can somehow pull 3 more wins against Michigan State, Washington, Purdue so we are treated to an undefeated USC-Notre Dame showdown in South Bend. That's would bring back memories of the 60s and 70s.

Washington is struggling so they should have zero problems with them. as for MSU and Purdue im not sure how they are looking thus far.

Michigan State is a middle-of-pack Big Ten team, but they have a good QB in Drew Stanton. They are certainly no pushover. Purdue has probably risen to the top of the Big Ten. They don't have to play Ohio State or Michigan this season. They are the best bet to win the Big Ten right now.

LOL....we'll see by seasons end I guess. When I posted this I had the polls screwed up and notice they did break the top 25 after week 1's defeat on Jokeighan. I guess we'll see how good they are in a few weeks.

When was the last time a ND QB put the ball up 60 times in a game?

I'm no sure but the 5 TD's were a school record.

When was the last time ND allowed 38 in regulation in the home opener to an unranked team?

Notre Dame is my second college team. I feel a semi-attachment to ND. If I didn't want to stay close to home and go to Kansas State, I probably would have wanted to go to Notre Dame. Athletic tradition aside, it's a beautiful campus...

I used to love ND, that was until a couple of very combatant Orange Bowls involving a certain Colorado team... ;D
