First, anyone bitching people out for there being too many threads dedicated to being pissed at the team for today's performance should shut up. It's a message board and on game day, there'll be a lot of threads, a lot of people wanna talk and get their voices heard, whether you like or respect their opinion.
Anyway.
I (as I always say) am in my sophomore year as an NFL fan.
What happened today?
4-0 in pre-season (I'm aware it means nothing) and today our offense was utterly inept.
Were the media right? Are we that bad?
Everyone loves to mock the Browncos, while in offense only Jake's INT numbers are questioned.
Yet today, the offense (barring Rod) was AWFUL.
What did I miss??
(Ok, San Fran are winning, Michigan lost yesterday, I get it, no "On Any given sunday" shenanigans...)
I'm freakin' pissed, but having not followed football since I was a bairn, I don't know the ins and outs, the analysis escapes me sometimes, so I'd like you guys who've followed the game all your life to explain what happened.
What I did realise today is being a sports fan is awesome. Today is a low, no doubt, but god I love being a fan. I don't get my wife, she doesn't follow a team. The highs are so awesome, it's like a drug, you can't explain it to those who aren't fans (thankfully my wife understands, and thus avoids during games like these).
And anyway 15 - 1 will be a fine record at the end of the season.
