Good post. The one Bailey int was caused by (surprise) great preassure forcing Gus to make a bad throw. DJ was great on that strip and it went right into Todd's arms. If we can have more turnovers like that, we'll do much better...if our offense ever learns to move the ball! :'(

Look on the bright side?

We got our asses handed to us by the 2nd worst team in the league last year, I'm not about to look on the brightside of things about forcing 3 turnovers when we lose to a 4-12 team by 24 points.

Well I know this is a shocker but just because they went 4-12 last year doesn't make them a 4-12 team. I bet the Phins win 9 to 10 games this year.

i dont think so. No way they come out this intense every week. Sorry they just arent that good. We are a good team, but we played very poor. Maybe 6 or 7, bout 9 or 10 is out of their reach.

But for the sake of arguing lets hope they get 9 or 10 wins, that way our loss wont look so bad. :tearhair:

3 TO's! I dont care if the O didnt move the ball (well ok, i do). But i wanna continue to see TO's being forced from pressure and solid hits.

And they've done so much to improve in the offseason? They got Ricky Williams back and drafted Ronnie Brown, along with losing half of their secondary, I don't see them as a huge improvement.

Seriously, if they weren't looked at as a 4-12 team then where were more threads about this being a close game that we could lose? About everyone here hadn't the least bit of worry about going down there and beating this team, where was this "Just because they lost 12 games last year doesn't mean they'll be horrible this year, too" talk then?

You obviously don't understand the Dolphins. It's okay -- I didn't understand the Bears when they had the same disease.

What disease is that? Wannstedtitis. It's the same disease the Pitt Panthers now have -- they have lost games they were favored in twice in two weeks now to start 0-2. They were Big East champions last year.

It's not that Miami has a different coach this year -- it's that Miami actually has a coach and a coaching staff this year.

I'm not trying to blow sunshine up your dress, but this is a dramatically different team from last year just based on coaching and roster changes. It isn't a terribly deep team, and that is probably going to come home to roost. The starters actually are quite good when they're coached properly, though.

It's understandable, but regardless of how improved the Dolphins may be, I'm not about to look on the brightside of things when we got beat 34-10.

This team tries to be a Super Bowl contender each year, and they give us the idea that we very well could be, getting obliverated by 24 on opening day is not something to look on the brightside about.

Given what happened with the Chargers last year, I'd think you'd be familar with this phenomenon. I'd also think you'd be hoping against hope the same phenomenon would hit your Raiders. With free agency and the cap, teams can make big swings in a single year. Heck, look at Miami from 2003 to 2004. I'm not saying thiat Miami is this year's San Diego, but I'd be willing to venture that there will be a team that pulls off a similar feat.

That's your choice. You very well may be right about your chances, or it may be that six plays go differently and you guys beat my Dolphins today. That's how close things are in the NFL most games. Feel free to ignore my optimism at will, though.

Yeah, but how many points did those turnovers turn into... that is the important thing. Turnovers are great and we surely needed more of them, but if you don't do anything with them what is the point?

I'm still more than pissed about Shanny's play calling. Even the script sucked ass!!! If he doesn't turn it around soon we're in trouble!

I'll also say that just about every single one of us vastly underestimated the Phins. They owned us and a lot of credit has to go to their team. Zach Thomas and Crowder played excellent games and their secondary wouldn't give Plummer a single target. Hell, the first pass play Plummer had about 7 seconds... GREAT PROTECTION and nobody could get open? Poor game plan and poor performances by ALL of our receivers.

Jim Bob , don't get too fluffed up there son, you caught the Donks on a bad day, personally I think they were looking ahead to next week because the Donks are not as bad as they looked today not even close.

When you get the pothead back in the lineup, you will be a much better team and it will help Gus alot.

Enjoy your win , you did what you had to to beat them, stuck em in hot uniforms, made em play on the crappy field you practice on etc.

Good job though, preciate it

i guess i see it slightly different than some of you guys.... sure the 3 turnovers looks good on paper (when does it not?)

however, in this case if i were you guys i'd rather have zero turnovers and the same score. why? because your ONLY points came off two of those turnovers. If Miami had played mistake-free football, you would have been shutout.

Let's face it, losing on opening day is bad... but getting shut out? that is close to the worst thing in the world. I know i'd rather lose than get shut out.

So, all things considered, i think that stat is misleading and actually tells you things might be worse than they first appear...

We certainly did have them on a bad day. They temp couldn't have been better for them. Not saying that's the only reason they won b/c there's about 20 reasons they won... but it did play a factor. You also have to consider Miami's opening day record... especially at home. Not many teams go into Miami and win in early Sept.

Did I expect to win... yes. Did I think it was going to be an easy game...no. I said a month ago that this was an FU game. If we win we were supposed to b/c Miami was an "inferior" team. If we lose, well then we suck, got beat by an inferior team, and have major problems.

Champ going down IS major problems. Shanny's gameplan leads me to believe we're going to see more of the same...which is a major problem. It's not the end of the year by any means. The way I see it, we're one game behind the Chefs and we have 15 weeks to catch them. We're tied with the Faid and Chargers who both played better than we did. I think the Faid played in a tough place vs the pats, but Foxboro is not the same as Miami. The Chargers lost at home which is a good thing for all of us in the West. Sucks knowing that we have to go to Dallas though. They are a tough team. Keyshawn is still a douche bag though. He recently told ESPN (After they told him the cowboys would go 8-8) that he would talk to them on Media Day!!! Little BS and probably a little bit of insider knowledge. Those guys are believing... tough games ahead of us.

You cant take back TO's. Sure thats where our points came from. But hey points gotta come from somewhere.

The reason i think 3 TO's is important is caz of last year. Getting TO's were few and far between. So getting 3 is important and hopefully is a sign of things to come. Now.... to get the O moving....

Are you referring to the Phins defense playing a great game and then saying our WR's did horrible b/c they couldn't get open despite Jake having 7 seconds in protection? IMO, if you have 7 seconds it doesn't matter who's on the field on defense and how well they're playing... 7 seconds is an eternity to cover someone... they should have got open!

yes but we don't need to be poor sports about it. remember, we are essentially diplomats representing our team. Let's show class and respect, and we'll earn it from others. I don't like the catpiss comment either, but calling them "cheerleaders" and then saying we will "dust" them (i am assuming you are basing this on our game today) is recipe for disaster. remember, we haven't seen game two yet. We do not know yet if this game was a fluke or the sign of things to come. I'll wait until our team has proven itself before i'll go around talking all big.
