Current Miami conditions from the US Weather Service home page:

Miami International Airport
Last Update on Sep 11, 10:53 am EDT

86F
(30C) Humidity: 70 %
Wind Speed: SE 5 MPH
Barometer: 30.08" (1018.6 mb)
Dewpoint: 75F (24C)
Heat Index: 95F (35C)
Visibility: 10.00 mi.
More Local Wx: 2 Day History:

Having gone to school in Tennessee where it was frequently 90% humidity I can attest to the effects, but I think this is somewhat overdone and hyped by the Dolphins like we hype the altitude. I think it has more to do with whether the team is any good or not. It's difficult to track this with the Dolphins since they've had only 7 losing seasons since 1967 but in those years they finished below .500 their September home record was 3-8 for a winning percentage of .272. Tampa Bay has approximately the same humidity as Miami in September (http://www.berner.com/new/energy-relhumidity.htm) and looking at TB's September record it's obvious this has more to do with how good the team is. In years that TB finished at .500 or above they have a 12-4 record at home in September (1 game in August) for a .750 winning percentage. But in years they finished below .500 TB finished with a September home record of 12-28 for a winning percentage of .300

Denver will be win if they execute and play their game.

Denver will be win if they execute and play their game.
there is some truth to that, but it throws all other factors out into the wind... conditioning is a huge factor - that is also a variable depending on the coach and how they do it. We have no idea how tampa does this, and it was a laughable team at best up until several years ago.

Miami, on the other hand was always a force to be reckoned with until last year, and for much of its history have had excellent coaches.

At any rate, i don't think its overhyped. i honestly think the thin air really effects your visitors, just like the heat effects ours. why? the players. After games players have commented before. This is especially true of our division, all from New England area.... They just aren't used to the extreme heat. Heat accelerates fatigue. Your team's talent is not diminished in Miami, but the heat dissipates their energy quicker. Let's hope your guys can hold up though, because fatigue also increases probability for injury.

lets stay injury free!

Paralysis by analysis.

All the film work and study in the off-season has got Jake thinking about his throws too much. He's trying too hard to guide the ball to where he wants it to go.

Sorry, Shanahan, but turn Jake loose and let him play.
