Well I think all the guys out with Cramps is a telling sign, this team is exausted. Playing in 115 degree heat and humidity at 10am is rough. It's no excuse, but no denying it either.
this was the point i was arguing earlier... on top of exhaustion, it creates cramps.... which your secondary has already experienced.

Yup for a 12 year period there up until Wanny was destroying this team the past 2 years the team was 18-1 in regular season games in Aug/Sept.

i'm guessing Kaylore will be the only one who owns up... he admitted many times he'd be back regardless.

The heat is not an excuse for this. Shanahan failed to adjust when MA went out and if you put a defense out there constantly even in good weather you'll wear them out. Very poor game planning on our coaches part. I don't doubt the heat wears on you, but that's not the reason they're losing this. They've just stunk it up. Losing 3 corners doesn't help either. Shanny should have put BVP in before now.

MA has never been good at the goalline. For as much as people want to talk about the redzone when looking at just last season, TD's been about the only back that's been good at the goalline in Shanahan's tenure here. This is where the small OL gets dominated.

I can't believe some of the things my Bronco brethren said.

That said I cannot believe the Dolphins are tearing this team apart.

People forget half the defensive starters were out for a significant period last year. Both our starting DT's, Seau, Thomas missed a lot of games. Feeley was never a good QB and Wanny is a team killer (Chicago, Miami and now Pittsburgh). This defense is healthy and aren't playing a 'vanilla' scheme anymore. Add in Crowder to the starters and this defense is sick but the 'expert's' didn't want to hear it. Imagine the phins once we got Ricky/Ronnie in the backfield and Gus gets comfortable with the offense.

Because history has shown that good teams that are used to the heat usually win and bad teams used to the heat ususally lose. Pretty simple. This game was not lost because of the heat. It was lost because:

1) Mike Shanahan failed to adjust when MA got hurt and called a horrible game.

2) Denver failed to execute.

3) You can't beat anybody when you lose your top 3 corners and start a backup safety at CB.

My point earlier exactly, footsteps.

This is FOOTBALL. A sport supposedly for reallytough guys.

Incidentally, they are paid at least the NFL minimum of $460,000. Most much more. They don't need homers making excuses for them for poor conditioning. You don't run and excercise for a living, they do. And if I paid you $460K and got that kind of performance out of you, I'd be ashamed for us both.

Quit making lame excuses for men that don't need it or deserve it.

Go back and look at the entire history of both the Dolphins and the Bucs. You'll find what I already posted, that in years where those teams were at .500 or above they win at home in September, and in years where those teams are below .500 for the year, they lose at home in September. Good teams overcome the elements and do what is necessary to win. Players will always talk about how the elements effects things, and to a limited extent they do, but this game was not lost because of the heat. They stunk from the first snap...long before the heat had anything to do with it. As I said, I jog 5 miles daily and I live in Texas where the humidity is frequently as bad as it is in Miami.

Enough weather talk.

When camp started I thought this was an 8 & 8 team. As camp progressed, I put on the homer glasses and began to think 10 & 6, or maybe even 11 & 5. Now I realize that my first impression was correct. There is not one difference maker on this offense. There is not one player on this offense who can create a mis-match against the opposing D and free up other opportunities. The days of Eddie Mac, Sharpe and Smith are long gone. Now there's just mediocrity. Forget Leinhart. This team needs a first class (Owens, Moss, Harrison) receiver. The first Bronco game where I've turned off the TV in the 3rd quarter since the 49er SB blowout.
