LOL he also says "Holmes" is most likely to have a break out season. I think he fumbled that question ;D

Maybe he's referring to Priest's acne

He also rated us top 3 last year, so I think despite his public criticism of Plummer, he'll always love Denver.
This was a great read and no one is going to it. Check this out: http://www.orangemane.com/BB/showthread.php?t=30112

The funny thing about the rushing champion. If you translate Droughn's per game average out from 12 to 16 he wins by 200 yds.

Well last year he seemed to think differently. I wonder what made him drink the Kool aid?

FUMBLE!!!! Seriously, I don't want any hype for the Broncos going into the season. It's better to surprise than disappoint.

Agreed, though its nice to know that Sharpe still watches our games. Anyone who watched us has to admit we were executing.

Agreed, you can tell who has seen us play, not just looked at box scores.
I love the underdog role and its gonna be a great game sunday.

I still find it funny that the Ex-broncs are all starting to turn around. This isn't a case of ex-players being homers, these guys have all been down on us before. It's just obvious that since they are ex-broncos that they have paid attention to the team, while the average talking head wrote them off before training camp even started.

I think a couple of these guys heard "breakdown" because Priest and Warner have both had rheir best years.

A lot of positive vibes about Nick Saban. Sharpe didn't vote. Hmmmm.
Priest Holmes? Did he understand the question? I guess it would be considered a breakout season if Priest played the whole year.
A lot of respect for San Diego being passed around.

Denver (4-0): 113 points scored; 80 points against
Denver ranked 16th overall on defense (14th against the run; 20th vs. the pass). The team ran the ball 137 times and passed 119 times. The trio of running backs -- Mike Anderson, Tatum Bell and Ron Dayne -- rushed for 550 yards on 87 attempts for a 6.3 average. The Broncos were plus-5 in sack differential. In nine of the past 10 years under Mike Shanahan, one back has had at least 51.5 percent of the carries for the season. In the three-best years -- 1996, '97 and '98 -- Terrell Davis ran it at least 65.7 percent of the time. I think all three of the guys this year will play, with Anderson as the starter. Jake Plummer had a 123.6 passer rating with three touchdowns and no INTs in the preseason. Todd Devoe had a 20-yard average catching the ball.
San Diego (2-2): 87 points scored; 74 points against
The team ranked No. 17 overall on defense (eighth against the run; 24th vs. the pass). The Chargers passed 141 times; ran 106. San Diego has all its starters back from last season. Backup running back Michael Turner was impressive in the preseason. Rookie Darren Sproles adds to the return game and led the receivers in the preseason. LaDainian Tomlinson had only one carry in four games -- a 55-yard touchdown
Kansas City (0-4): 73 points scored; 101 points against
The team ranked 31st overall on defense (20th against the run; 30th vs. the pass). The Chiefs ran 110 times; passed 140. Kansas City scored 483 points during the 2004 season. It led the NFL in yards but was the only team in the top 10 in that category that failed to make the playoffs. Trent Green threw only 22 passes in the preseason and recently underwent a medical procedure on his lower leg. Thanks to a 97-yard touchdown, Larry Johnson gained 8.2 yards per carry during the preseason. Holmes had 23 carries for 81 yards. Derrick Johnson, the first linebacker taken in the 2005 NFL Draft, has a chance to be the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year.
Oakland (1-3): 59 points scored; 63 points against
The team ranked No. 3 overall on defense (12th against the run; fourth vs. the pass). The Raiders passed 149 times; ran 96 times. The defense showed improvement. One reason is because the offense had the ball for an average of 32:21. Oakland has a strong receiving corps and an up-and-coming offensive line. Kerry Collins was very good in the preseason (109.9 rating; 70 percent completions). Johnny Morant had 15 catches for 315 yards

wow, a lot of mixed feelings about Sharpe here, eh?
The best TE of all time....
so, considering i am not a fan of Denver and didn't know the circumstances, why DID he leave and go to baltimore? but then he came back for one year before retiring again right?
there still a lot of bitterness towards him for going to the Ravens for a year?

i also found it interesting that two people voted Jay Fiedler as backup QB most likely to make an impact.
as much as he sucked, he is still better than anyone we have on our roster now.

He wanted to be paid. Bowlen and Shanahan didn't want to do it. There were rumors both of Shannon's ankles were shot. There were rumors he was washed up.
He went to Baltimore, made a huge play taking a ball out of Romanowski's inept intercepting hands, took it to the bank forced the Broncos out of the playoffs and put another ring on his finger.
Then he came home. I have no bitterness at him leaving, I'm glad he earned another ring which will make him a HOF lock.
I got to be in Arrowhead when he set the single game receiving total for a Tight End. He came from nowhere. A 7th round pick and his work ethic, talent and mouth put him at the top.
I wish he could play forever, where ever.

I wasnt bitter at Shannon, I was bitter at Bowlen and Shanahan for letting him go.
I just dont care for him as an analyst and its almost entirely because I cant understand a word he is saying.

Shanahan made Sharpe beg for every nickle in Denver. Of all of Shanahan's gaffe's: Carter, Gardener, Griese's contract, the worst was letting Shannon Sharpe get away.

He was pretty awful, Crashie. Seemed like his first year in Denver wasn't too bad and then he went stright downhill.
