We are coming up to another season of football for our beloved teams. How will you be enjoying the games this weekend?
Any good food to speak of? Parties?
Are you guys superstitious or do you have traditions when you watch games? It was never planned but it seems I always drink from this Chiefs cup I have had forever when watching games. I don't live at home anymore but my mom is as crazy about the Chiefs as anyone. When ever KC scores her and her sister who lives in Mississippi give eachother a call and let it ring once as a little celebration. I have no idea where that came about.
I making a trip to Columbia to visit a bunch of my Mizzou friends...catching the college game on Saturday and getting some people together for some good food and football to eatch the Chiefs on Sunday.
What are your plans?

Im leaving Saturday morning (8 hours) to Indianapolis for a Bronco party with some friends, all Bronco fans. Smoked Brisket, Pulled Pork, Enchilladas, and plenty of alcohol. Going to be a great weekend!!!!

A good Brisket is about as good as it gets.

I'll strip naked, douse myself in animal blood and dance around chanting to the Bad Luck Gods. You know, the usual.

Have the neighbors gotten used to that song and dance by now?

My neighbors love me because when I suck up the leaves in my front yard, I usually do their yard, too.

Sounds like a fair trade off for using the blood of their animals.

Going to have some old friends and a few girls come down from LA and were just going to get drunk and watch the games. I might steal Slap's idea too.

What Broncos back did this the last time they played.
Sounds like a weak tradition.

word @ having that chiefs cup. Last season I snagged a few of those tall, blue bronco cups from Invesco, they're all I drink out of now on gamedays.

Thats what happened when we lost to JAX.

I still have a large orange type cup from my trip last year. I remember at the time that I thought I would do something funny to it but everytime I sit down and look at it all the ideas seem lame...so it just sits...

Snappy Tom Beers for breakfast, unredded for the game and might grill a steak afterwards since it's the early game....hate to ruin a good buzz with food though

Lucky enough to have a girlfriend who's a big football fan. She said she's making us breakfast Sunday morning before the game. (Starts at 10:00 out here.) We'll settle in and watch the first two games, then order a large pizza (spin/mushrooms/feta) and Coronas from Dino's in Burbank for dinner. Then we'll do our best to fight off food-coma and stay awake during the night game.
God bless America.

Niice, a new pizza place just opened up down the road. Everyday their large is 4.99 for one topping and another dollar for any extra toppings. I thought I would give it a try although I was expecting it to taste like a sack of assholes because its so cheap. I am a firm believer that you get you pay for. It ended up being really really good.
I may hit it up next time I have a football day pizza craving.

I shave my head on the day before the first game. I did it one year - just by chance the week before opening Sunday - and the Broncos won. Now, I have just gotten into the habit.
I told my seven-year-old son the other day that I wanted him to start shaving his head, too, He said, simply, "No way, Dad! That's crazy!"
Opening Sunday is "Dad's Christmas" in our home. NFL Sunday Ticket, lots of food, pulled blinds, a comfortable couch, laptop for following live stats - heaven on earth.

Yea, you usually get what you pay for... though pizza ingredients are dirt cheap. Making a good pie is just about know-how. My fav place here in Burbank is actually fairly cheap... though 4.99 is insane. It's dangerous, actually.... could lead to a pizza-only diet.

All you guys should get together and make this happen. Don't get too close though. Slap will try and serve up some of his home made man chowder. Stay away.

You think that's bad?
I missed the first half of Super Bowl XXXIII because my son had a rec-league hockey game.
He got an assist and a goal, but his team still lost 5-3.

I don't know of many trolls around here to be honest with you. Every Chiefs fan talks football around here...there are a few who meander in an out but...I don't really know what you are talking about.

I don't have kids yet...and I know their sports will be a big deal. I will support them in everything they do an in encourage them with my help and be there for them.
But nothing could keep me away from me watching a team I love in a Championship game. Holy crap.

I will be sitting in my buddies apartment, laughing as we wipe the floor with his Dolphins, polishing of a 1/5 of Jack, eating some food from the grill/crockpot, wearing my Elway jersey (like I do for the first game every year) and my Broncos beads I got in new orleans (moment of silence) and collecting the money I made off the games.
