View Full Version : The Ohio State U's, Super Awesome Buckeye, Maurice Clarett Already $1 Million in Debt

-Slap-

I found this on SI.com, quoting from an original story in the Miami Herald.

According to two sources, Maurice Clarett is already $1 million in debt from legal fees for his fight with the NFL and other costs. According to associates, Clarett even turned down a traditional signing bonus of $413,000 in his original contract with Denver because lawyer David Kenner wanted incentives that would pay Clarett if he became a star. That all backfired after a series of off-field events resulted in Clarett being cut. He reported to training camp at 248 pounds (at least 20 pounds overweight), was slow to return from an injury, had run-ins with coaches and was even found drinking alcohol in the team's weight room.

Let him fade off into the sunset and begin his life as a grease monkey manager..

What makes you think he knows how to change oil yet alone manage a grease monkey?

I doubt he has the competence to even be a valet. You might find out he reported your car stolen by unnamed bandits.

He isn't stupid, just incredibly irresponsible. He's the Mike Tyson of Football, except he never even got that far. If you owned a Grease Monkey oil shop, do you honestly think he would be qualified to run it? I wouldn't even let this clown touch my car. Period. If he wanted to carry the rock, he shouldn't of been carrying a 40 ounce Colt in the weight room at 248. Give me a freaking break. He should of shown up at 230 max. His playing weight is 225.

Even heavy, if he gave a crap, he could of at least made a fullback. He is just a lazy slob. If he was drinking malt liquor during weights, I would of cut him on the spot. Shanahan isn't crazy, he knows boys go out and have fun, but when your on the property, you better be ready to compete.

No wonder Rod Smith made comments a week before he was cut. Rod Smith runs that room from what I know. He's like Jerry Rice USED to be. Rod wouldn't of spoken out, and I think he held his tounge.

I honestly think Clarett thought another team would claim him. Look, if he can't make it with the Broncos, he's not going to make it anywhere. File this under D.

For Dumbass.

Now most of the distractions are gone, and hopefully, BVP was bent over and given a good spanking. Now lets go win some games.

I hope Shanahan talks to our QB's so they don't look like a Mini-Me John Holmes and some escaped criminal that just washed up off Alcatraz.

Those two QB's are motley to the max. I can dig it I guess, as long as they don't get in trouble.

We don't put up with that kind of behavior at Faber College.

I gave him the benefit of the doubt when we drafted him. I heard good things during his press conference the day after he was drafted, but he blew his chance.

L2M
09-07-2005, 04:02 PM
Ah, Maurice will do just fine. He just needs to be creative with his resume. Like this:

Maurice Clarett

Seeking position that pays money.

Experience:

2005 - Denver Broncos - Washout

Brought on board with NFL team to bolster running attack. Carried excessive weight for position, and endured long groin massages. Demonstrated persistence in salary negotiations and sacrificed personal profit for goals oriented performance. Practiced weight room multi-tasking to enhance mindset and cope with stressful working conditions. Was released because of superior work ethic.

2001-2004- Ohio State Running Back (Part-Time)

Produced superior numbers with limited exposure while aggressively pursuing position of greater responsibility. Stood for fairness and equality though civil action against large, greedy, discriminating, organization. Persecuted by team members for adhering to personal beliefs.

Skills:

Drinking, whining, quitting, dialing for pizza, acting like a running back.

"Hey, look at me! I have really large upper arms, but dainty, girlish wrists. I wonder why?"

He knows another way to beat off.....was that over the top? I can never tell.

Is there anyone left that is still willing to argue that this wasn't one of the two or three dumbest draft picks of all time?

RB is one position we didn't NEED to draft well. Bobby Turner saw talent in him and gambled that the character issues can be fixed. It didn't happen, but it's not a big deal. Anderson, Bell and Dayne provide all the depth we need to run on anybody...AGAIN...

I'd be more concerned with a team drafting a NEED position (defensive line) with a guy who hasn't seen the field much and won't in the immediate future (Junior Siavii).
