???

Watching all the other games, it seems like most of the starters from other teams are going atleast one series. Do you think ours will?? Or only the ones that need work?

I would think the starters would sit this one out. God forbid a player like Plummer pulls up lame in a game like this.

This game is more for the guys on "the bubble".

Well that is what I thought most teams would be thinking, but then I see their starters out there. Like Vick, I could not believe he was playing last night. Now granted he didn't run, but what if he took a good one from the blind side and had to miss half the season? Oh well, I figured Denver wasn't gonna play their starters, but Champ might play and Brown might play also.

most teams do play the starters one series, but shanny has his way, and his way is not at all.
personally, i think it makes sense.
they already got 2+ quarters last week, and one series this week does nothing for them but invite injury possibilities.
we came out of the first three relatively healthy, and now we can be happy for that and let the bubble guys fight it out.

plus, with vanpelt being SO raw, its important for him to get some work in against a first team defense, all be it arizonas.
personally i think we're up a creek without a paddle if plummer goes down (knock on wood), but the more work the better for vanpelt.
right now close to HALF his passes are so off target its frightenting.

jake

ps- brown will play because he missed the first three preseason games and you may also see some other defensive starters briefly, but all the high profile guys are sitting it out.

Starters for the most part wont play but where does that leave someone like Tatertot does he get some totes tonight?

I think Anderson has wrapped up the #1 spot, so backups such as Bell, Dayne and Q should get plenty of reps.

if it goes as planned, bell and dayne will play the first half, and griffin will play most of the second.

I'm Hoping they deactivate Bailey and he is in street clothes. Then I am Hoping to see Courtney get a series in on ARI's weak ass OL. Maybe he can level McCown then get the night off.

One thing is for sure, ARI better not try and pass the ball much. If they do our second string DL is going to hurt McCown and any other QB's they throw out there.

Arizona will prolly be up 10 points or so at the half. I read Denny Green is going to keep in his ones possibly into the 2nd quarter.

Our Defense is up to the task, Probably our offense too. ST's needs to have a coming out party though. They are still scaring me!

Wait a minute, Warner is out there? Woo hoo, go get him Courtney!

CBS Sportsline said Plummer won't play at all tonight. I'm sure Ekuban, Engelberger and Brown will play some. Palepoi should get lots of playing time as well. I want to see that saftey Anderson play. See if his coverage is as bad as the Raiders fans think. Some Packers fans said its "ok" but they didn't say he sucked at it.

If this is like the other years Shanny wasn't even on the practice field. I know in years past he has left the final preseason game up to Kubes and he started breaking down the opponent they are going to face in week one. That could be a major reason why Denver is the only team to win their opener the last 4 years.

Kubes will prepare the backups for Zona and Shanny is breaking down the Dolphins. I think this game could be decided by the fact that maybe A rookie coach might not be quite as prepared to face a coach and a team like Denver in week 1.

I dunno Med. I think the 2nd team LBs are not that bad, Green, Burns and Pierce right? Ordinarily I think Darrent and Foxworth would do good against 1s but against Fitz and Anquan for almost a half is asking alot. The DL should do well though.

If we beat the Dolphins, I dont think a reason will be a lac of preparation by Saban. Saban is legendary for his preparation. Even in college, his assistant coaches at MSU and LSU hated him because he worked them to death. Very few of his MSU coaches followed him to LSU. And Saban has been in the NFL before as a DC for 3 years. We will be pretty prepared too, Shanny always does very well in the early games, even against 1st year coaches with new systems that we dont have film yet to see how those systems interact with the new personnel. In 2003, we beat Cincy 30-10 in Marvin Lewis's first game as HC with that team and we did the same in 2001 to Arizona in Dave Macginnis's first game as HC there in Week 2 since AZ had a bye in week 1. So Shanny seems to have a good feel of knowing what the other team will do even if there is no reg season film of the new coach's schemes with that team. But again, Saban wont lose for a lack of preparedness. He is a freak when it comes to work.

Actually socal I think it is perfect for the young Guys to get reps and Compete. Brandon and Lesueur should get a lot of reps with Marques anderson. Green, Burns, Chukwurah should start but Pierce and Sykes will get some reps too. As for the DL, our Second teamers are all former NFL starters. Fatefehi, Pope, Engelberger, Ekuban, Brown should all get a bunch of time tonight. The DL for sure will get pressure on Warner, everyone does, and that should let the rookie CB's and Roc let loose tonight.

I'm not saying lack of preperation but I believe he will be outprepared. He is still getting his nest in order. He has a new staff and a new team. Do you think he and his staff started breaking down the Broncos on Monday?? In fact I heard Shanny has his first couple games against opponents broke down before training camp. Saben won't have a lack of preperation but he won't be up to the task 6this week. IMO.... That's just my (homer)line of thought on this.

I think we're going to get slaughtered tonight in a meaningless game.

I'm just hoping to find a couple of bright spots amidst all the carnage.

The Scrubs have outplayed every other teams scrubs, especially defensively. BVP needs to start out on the right foot and throw accurately, and Tatum and Dayne should help him get some better than 3rd and Long passing situations.

I hope they beat the crap out of Warner with the second team DL. The ARI OL is not very good at all.

Denny (the old bloated woodtick, I guess is now a bloated ladybug?) loves to win preseason games. So, I'm sure he'll have his 1st team in for awhile tonite. How beautiful it would be to hand him a loss with our scrubs....

Gawd, I'm glad he's not in MN anymore. Talk about torture:

"There was two teams out there who really wanted to win and when that happens, only one can win."

(KFFL) Odeen Domingo, of the Arizona Republic, reports Arizona Cardinals head coach Dennis Green plans to play the first-team offense past the first quarter in the Friday, Sept. 2, preseason game against the Denver Broncos.
