Wait, I thought all test came up negative and he was fine. Are you now saying that something is wrong with him, no matter how minor?

Green undergoes procedure to fix leg

Chiefs quarterback Trent Green will not play in Friday's preseason finale in St. Louis after undergoing an outpatient medical procedure designed to improve circulation in the left leg he injured in 1999.
But Green is expected to return to practice Monday when the Chiefs begin their regular preparations for the Sept. 11 regular-season opener against the New York Jets, coach Dick Vermeil said Wednesday.

Though he could not identify the procedure used, Vermeil said Green assured him that he was walking normally and without pain after undergoing what Vermeil called "a minor outpatient circulation correction that helps circulation in the foot."

Green was removed after two series in last week's Seattle game after experiencing a slight numbness in his left foot and lower leg, the same leg that required four corrective surgeries following a 1999 injury.

"It was a minor problem and they fixed it," Vermeil said after denying radio speculation that Green was having problems with a blood clot. "It was a circulation problem that probably stemmed from four knee operations and scar tissue.

When they found that, they stopped looking for anything else.

"Everything they tell me about this is positive, and I feel he'll be ready to go to work Monday."

With Green and backup Todd Collins down (with a fractured hand), the Chiefs will start Jonathan Quinn and play him the entire first half. Rookie James Kilian will play most of the second half. No. 3 quarterback Damon Huard, who sustained a concussion in the second preseason game, is available only in an emergency situation, Vermeil said.
