Quarterback
Jake Plummer, Denver: More weapons; has looked very good in preseason.
J.P. Losman, Buffalo: Threw only five passes as a rookie last season. A few scouts liked him.
Running back
Willie Parker, Pittsburgh: Finished 2004 season with 100 yards against Buffalo; he was the only player to hit the century mark against the Bills all season. He might start until Jerome Bettis and Duce Staley get healthy.
Chester Taylor, Baltimore: With injuries to Jamal Lewis, he will get more playing time. He has gained 7 yards per carry in the preseason so far.
Michael Turner, San Diego: The question is how many carries will he get playing behind LaDainian Tomlinson. He has run well in the preseason.
Mike Anderson, Denver: He will turn 32 on Sept. 21, but he will be the Reuben Droughns of 2005.
William Green, Cleveland: He is playing with a better attitude and seems to be in better shape.
LaMont Jordan, Oakland: He is playing with a team that has a very good offensive line and has caught the ball well. Only 26 years old.
Brandon Jacobs, N.Y. Giants: A rookie who has been a surprise as a runner. He'll be in there in goal-line situations.

If both Anderson and Plummer have great years Denver will win the AFC West. I believe with all the additions Denver has made Plummer will be the key. If he plays well Denver will be an elite team.

All Plummer has to do is either take more sacks or throw the ball away more and he will be just fine. If he has another 20+ INTs this year, Denver will be out of the playoffs. We need him to cut down on having him forceing the ball too much. He didn't do it in his first year here, but then he did las year. This is the year when he should put it all together. And so far in PS it looks like he will.

Wow, Denver gettng some props, i love it!! what a change!
Plummer is the key here tho, 3rd year now, knows the system, should be a break out year.
MA may not be a sleeper tho if Bell plays well. Bell is the super sleeper for sure.

case that plummer has finally gotten it was a simple play during the texans. he gets flushed out of the pocket, and instead of forcing it into coverage, he get what he could and went out of bounds. 2 years ago he would have forced the throw. granted, its preseason, but its a sign.

The Broncos got some props from the press???
WHAAAAA????
Being a sophomore Bronco fan, I assumed that the Broncos were under some kind of contract with the media to get positive press from the local media alone...
This fella that wrote this article is SURELY going to get fired for this astounding lapse in judgement...
Wait, aaaah, it's late. I must be dreaming...

He lumped Jake with J.P. Loseman, a pompus prick who hasn't done squat.
Your right, Anderson had a huge year before Droughns was even taken off a side street next to the Superdome and given a bus ride to Denver. Well, it was Detroit, but same thing.
William Green? BwhaHaha...what is going to make him break out on a horrible team?
Chester Taylor, that's DenFan's guy, I hate his new handle. We both thought he was spongeworthy. It's no surprise he stuck. He's never going to be a star tho.
Mock's breakout players:
Please don't laugh, I said breakout. Not jailbreak.
Donte Stallworth, WR, Saints. Ready to take the next step if he can stay dry.
C. Brown. Ready to come back with a vengance after injury.
Mike Anderson, not because he's a new version of R. Droughns tho, because he rehabbed so hard he's a beast.
Ricky Williams, RB, Miami. Begging for scraps in Nepal has wised him up.
Brian Griese, Tampa Bay. This may be the year he does what Shanahan expected. He won't win, but Gruden will be there for him.
Trevor Pryce, DE, Denver. Rumors of his demise were highly overrated.
Michael Bennett, RB, Minnesota. With the whizzinator out of the way and only M. Moore in his way, Bennett may got back to the form he had early, and wiser.
Darrent Williams, ST/CB, will remind people of Darrell Green.

I love the comparative reasons given. Jake's is based on performance shown this preseason. Losman's review is based on "a few scouts" liking him. ::)

Still queer for Donte Stallworth I see. I remember you crying like a bitch because we didn't trade up and take him over Lelie or Javon Walker.
Hey, where's Justin Fargas? Another mock first rounder, who went late third round and busted.
You couldn't find your asshole with both hands and a funnel.

It looks like the Saints are making a concentrated effort to find Donte a place in their offense. I hope so because I drafted him in my fantasy league :)

Reuben Droughns was the Mike Anderson of 2004.
Only he faded at the end of the season and didn't find the endzone half as many times. MA has to be considered the better back based on that comparison. I don't really understand why media types think we lost so much with Droughns. The only thing that we lost is a team player with a huge heart. We have that much talent in at least 3 other RBs.

Yeah he is an injury waiting to happen. I took him in the 12th round, so not a big loss if he doesn't work out.

He was on my radar in the endgame, too, but I'm reluctant to add any Saints to my squad now. I don't think anyone there is going to have their minds on football.

On top of the obvious hurricane related issues, the Saints have always been kind of a skitzo team anyway. One week they look pretty good, the next week they look like they are a JV team. Tough to have a fantasy starter on a team like that.

No doubt. Deuce and Horn are the only guys you really want from that team anyway. Brooks is also a decent concession pick after the first wave of QBs are off the board. I'm going to drop all of them at least one round in my rankings with the disaster, though.

Hate to toss in a cliché, but you can’t teach heart. One can only imagine how different the last few off seasons would have played out if Maurice had the heart of Reuben Droughns, or if Deltha had the heart of Ray Crockett. Cleveland never would have traded Gerrard if he had the heart of Mike Lodish.
When talking about some players, heart may play a bigger role in on field performance than talent.
