No.
But I blame him for the drastic cuts to Louisiana's Hurricane and Flood Readiness Program he made just this year.
This is a serious question.
And I'm the King of Sweden.

Religious right group, heralded by top religious right leaders, says God destroyed New Orleans because of gays
This is a group that has been defended by scores of lead religious right organizations in just the past year, including the Southern Baptist Convention, Center for Reclaiming America (attached to D. James Kennedy), the American Family Association's AgapePress, WorldNetDaily, the men over at the Concerned Women for America, Lou Sheldon's Traditional Values Coaltion, the freepers, and more.
Here's what this darling of the religious right had to say about New Orleans:
An evangelical Christian group that regularly demonstrates at LGBT events is blaming gays for hurricane Katrina.
Repent America says that God "destroyed" New Orleans because of Southern Decadence, the gay festival that was to have taken place in the city over the Labor Day weekend.

sadly enough, i was expecting this too.
this is a sad day for the US. one of our major cities is wiped out and many people have lost their lives, loved ones and all their possessions. they need our help and encouragment, our love and compassion...not a bunch of hate filled rhetoric.

Morons. Shouldn't the religious right be the compassionate ones? Shouldn't they be on the front lines taking money to help these people in N.O. instead of some stupid irrational/political rhetoric designed to further their agenda and line their pockets?

You are correct. They should be. And there are thousands of churches all over the country doing just that. Here in Dallas churches are setting up their buildings for taking in people from the disaster and cooking meals/providing temporary housing etc...churches in NO were credited by the Mayor with being one of the primary players in creating car caravans for people who couldn't get out on their own and wanted to leave. Different groups are all doing these things and more. The question of whether "God is judging the gays" is obviously not possible for any church to discern, since He hasn't said as far as I'm aware...so all such statements to that end are nonsense. I will point out however, that the Biblical Sodom and Gomorra that were destroyed in Genesis were destroyed for the sin of homosexuality. So while these individuals are correct in stating that according to the Biblical record he "could" be doing that and be consistent with past performance, there is no justification for saying he "is" doing that.
People need to simply concentrate on helping others in this horrible tragedy, rather than using it to spin off theological assertions they can't prove; and the fact that a few people have used idiotic remarks to detract from the task at hand should not be taken to mean that churches are not helping in this disaster. As I said, they are.

The House of Representatives, at the request of the Bush administration, cut 70 million dollars from the Army Corps of Engineers' budget for the New Orleans District. Last year, it essentially ended disaster planning for the region by transferring the chore to a private company, IEM Corp., and giving it a $500,000 budget. Now, it has shelved a study that was to determine ways to protect the city from a Category 5 hurricane.

after 2003, the flow of federal dollars toward SELA dropped to a trickle. The Corps never tried to hide the fact that the spending pressures of the war in Iraq, as well as homeland security -- coming at the same time as federal tax cuts -- was the reason for the strain. At least nine articles in the Times-Picayune from 2004 and 2005 specifically cite the cost of Iraq as a reason for the lack of hurricane- and flood-control dollars.
Newhouse News Service, in an article posted late Tuesday night at The Times-Picayune Web site, reported: "No one can say they didn't see it coming. ... Now in the wake of one of the worst storms ever, serious questions are being asked about the lack of preparation."
In early 2004, as the cost of the conflict in Iraq soared, President Bush proposed spending less than 20 percent of what the Corps said was needed for Lake Pontchartrain, according to a Feb. 16, 2004, article, in New Orleans CityBusiness.
