I was checking out DR Z's projections and he has Denver finishing 3rd in the West with a 7-9 record. He also has the winner of the west at 9-7.
Seriously, if the winner of the West finishes 9-7, none of the teams deserve to be in the playoffs. It is probably the best division in the league and they will beat up on each other, but this guy is a complete ass.
Last year the chiefs ended strong and the chargers and broncs were tough throughout the year and the division still managed 2 teams with over 10 wins.
This guy shouldn't be considered a DR.

I think 7 - 9 winning the division is realistic because of your point, the division is strong and the teams will be beating up one another. The entire division faces a tough schedule (NFC East and AFC East). At least the AFC East will be tough with a few tough games in the NFC East. If nothing else the travel will be a nightmare. Denver never plays well in 1pm EST games. San Diego has 6 of them, meaning 6 flights all the way across the country.
I think its very possible that this division could be so good that it drags the record of all the teams down. I think 4 - 2 in the division will be a good record.

Dr Z is still an idiot though. I think putting Denver at 18th in the Power Rankings is much more of a slight than a 7 - 9 record. We are better than 18th in this league.

Zimmerman is the idiot who didn't think Dan Marino would get the coaching from Don Shula to be successfull. I believe they both have gold jackets and bronze busts in a small town in Ohio.
