CFB season kicks off on Thursday with the return of "The Ol' Ball coach". The game is getting more attention than it deserves, both teams are less than spectacular but ESPN will force feed the Spurrier story all year.

Affiliations aside, what game are you most interested in watching this weekend? Obviously I am pumped to watch the Buffs bash the lambs brains in, however I am really looking forward to watching the U/F$U game on monday night, hopefully it will stack up to the NU/Maine game.

Tailgating, marching bands, coeds and the sounds of pads popping, it's does not get much better than this.

Sorry pain, I have to give you a little crap...

Quick question, does the scope of the OU band's music book consist of "Boomer Sooner" , "Boomer Soooner" , and "Boomer Sooner"??

I am also going to attend San Diego State-UCLA this weekend. I will focus most of my attention on Mercedes Lewis.

One of the posters on the Buffalo Sports News board has the same problem. She said she's been trying to break up the wedding for a few months now.

They don't have to worry about Texas.

And by the way, you should remember the fact that two of the three teams being discussed here played in the Big XII championship game and a bowl game last year.

Yours was the one that didn't.

Sun shines on a pooch's patoot every now and then.

What? You're proud that in a horrid rebuilding year you beat the Huskers? Well congrats, and if my memory serves me correctly, you really shouldn't be bragging about getting to the Big XII championship, you got throttled!

Okay, now bring the "well at least we made it..." mantra. Last I knew, second place is still the first loser. thwack

The amount I worry about Texas is the same percentage change that Vince Young has of hitting the broad side of a barn with one of his passes.

Texas??? Yes, every year we all pack up, head to Dallas, marvel at the humanity that is Texas at their white trash state fair, kick UTerus on Saturday, party all night, and come home on Sunday.

Quite the trip to experience.

And Mack Brown got a 5 year contract extension for his stellar work in the red river shootout!

That secures a Oklahoma winning streak well into 2011.

Demetrius Williams is moving up draft boards as we speak. He's having one hell of a game for Oregon. I love Oregon's offense, but I don't think their defense has enough punch outside of Ngata to give USC a run for their money.

South Carolina shot right out of the gate with two scores in 7 and a half minutes. Their defense looked pretty good as well. Ko Simpson is going to be a player in the National Football League some day. I still think its too early to tell how they will fare against the SEC juggernauts. I still see a borderline 6-7 win bowl team.

Did anybody check out the wild Wake Forest-Vandy game? Chris Barclay's replacement had 250 plus yards rushing.

Lawrence Malroney just broke his second long run of the day! He's making a case to be mentioned among Peterson, D'Angelo, Bush as the best backs in the nation.

I know fans in here want an interior lineman with size, but Greg Eslinger of Minnesota has Tom Nalen/Ben Hamilton written all over him. He had a nice cut block on the move to pave the way for Malroney's last big run.
