I just picked up Price with the hope that he will go to a team that will throw the ball to him, kind of like what Buffalo did. He would look pretty damn good next to Owens. :)

yikes!.. That's true.. Atlanta thought he was a #1.. but in reality.. he's a great #2.. put him opposite Owens.. or any other "true" #1 WR and watch the stats pile up.

It dont matter Carl's currently too busy getting used by Simon to jack up the offers of other teams to worry about it.

All in all I'm happy with our wide outs... if I was looking for more depth at this point, with the season about to start I'd look at the O Line.

Wait a minute. When Fred X is said to be playing in a PS game by DV, you say he is hurt. But when Bell was said to play in a PS game by DV then doesn't, you say he is fine and not hurt. ???

I think we need to get a real #3 WR. Rice is old and slow and just won't be a factor. Watts, well, this kid still can't catch. I can't believe the other kids on this team haven't pushed for the #3 spot. Hell put Adams there. He's faster than Rice and can catch better than Watts.

Thats what Im hoping for. If he can get 90 plus catches next to Moulds he whould do just fine next to an Owens.

Here's the Broncos chance to improve themselves in an area they REALLY need to improve in. Warrick, if healthy, would be a great pickup for the Broncos!

I like warrick but it all depends on whether you want to put up the health risk of warrick reinjuring himself vs the potential in Luke. Will Luke consistently put up the quality needed to break into the top level of our receiving corp. While Warrick has proven when healthy he can be depended on for solid production. I havent heard much in the way of progress from Luke during camp so I would lean towards taking a chance on warrick. He definitely talks the talk, saying he is a team player and willing to do what it takes to help the team win. So let him step on the field and prove it. I also like the idea of his fresher legs in the lineup instead of rice at #3.

Luke has been bothered by an ankle injury.

I've been thinking and I will ask this again on the main page but I think we got some cap room when we cut Luther and Johnson. Luther was going to make 765,000 and so was Ralyee. I could be wrong but that should be 1.5 mill that we could use on Warrick.

Just from reading about how he asked for his release and wants to be a team player he may be willing to take a sacrifice financially to play somewhere he can make and impact and contribute. he wont come dirt cheap but we can offer him the kind of opportunity to produce and prove himself that he wants. Plus as a former first rounder arent we almost obligated to sign him and keep our trend going?

If Peter Warrick can pass a physical, he would be an ideal addition. I wanted no part of a trade for him but as a FA he could be the final peice of an otherwise talented Offensive Puzzle.

Peerless Price, on the other hand, scares me. He is being passed over by two Younger WR's and I think he was not much of a team player in ATL. Talent, Yes. Trouble, probably.

I doubt either even draws the interest of the club though.

SoCalBronco

Med why dont you think either will draw interest from the team? We need solid WR depth badly. We have 2 guys and many question marks. I think Watts will pull through but adding Warrick would be great.

Money. They need it to find another OG IMHO.

Plus, both will want at least a #2 WR spot as well since both have never been #3 and that is what they would be here. I like Warrick and his Return Ability would be GREAT here until Darrent catches up to the NFL speed on Returns.

Now I asked this before but I thought when we cut those guys we got another 3.8 mill or so to play with. None of them have any bonuses that Im aware of. That would be more then enough to sign Warrick and a Oline guy.

Here

I was wondering because we cut Luther and Johnson if that money can be spent on others that have been cut. I'm not great at the bonus part of it but I believe if there is no bonus left then that money is ours to spend again right? This is what I got

Luther 765 K
Johnson 765 K
MoC 230 K
Kanell 665 K
Tall skinny guy 230 K
Hape 665K
BJ 305 K
Crenshaw 230 K

Without the others I got a 3.855 more million bucks in cap room. So would I be right or what? That seems like more then enough to sign a Oline guy and a Peter Warrick

Its not cumulative in nature guys. Only the top 53 contracts count. So, 3.8 mil may only have a savings of 1.8 or so. The minimum contracts would not count whatsoever toward the cap savings. And the two veterans count even less since they are vested veteran minimum's. The more I look at it, the more it looks like less than a Mil in savings.

I wouldn't be suprised to see Price end up in Philly or Dallas. Dallas has put a lot on Meshawn and Terry Glenn. Quincy Morgan isn't getting much time and they have a guy that has like 3 career receptions playing the #3. I could see them going after Price since there's no guarantee that Glenn will even stay healthy!

It also wouldn't be suprising for the Bills to take another look at him. They need to replace Moulds...Lee Evans would actually move up and Price would be the #2. That would give them two #2's though b/c Lee Evans isn't a true #1... atleast I don't think he is, not until he devleopes his intermediate game.

Price isn't going to get much action for the first month of the season wherever he goes, but I'm willing to gamble on him. I think he could turn into a top 25 WR by seasons end. You'd be wise to stash him somewhere on your roster for a month or so...see what he does and where he ends up!

I guess I am not as worried about the #3 WR spot as some, because I think our TEs will more than make up for it. Jeb, Alexander, and Nate when healthy have to be the best TE trio catching the ball that we have ever had. Also, with all the rollouts/PA plays we run TEs usually are the #1 or #2 target.

I'm not worried about it either because of the play of the TE's but it would be nice to get a few more proven weapons in here to get the media off our backs but we all know if we pick up Warrick or Price they are just cast-offs but if the Pats pick them up they are 24k gold, coated with dimmonds then wraped in platinum.

If we want either, we can find a way to pay them. Neither will be demanding or getting big money, they are CUTS. I'm on record for getting a vet WR, and I don't know if they are sandbagging GOAT, or he just doesn't have it anymore. I fear the latter. Let's bring them in and work them out. It's all part of the plan, right?

Either way we do not need to bring in ANY outside receiver. IMO

And you very well could be right about Lelie.

I believe both will be special and while we are at it I will go on record saying Jackson has the potential to be better than Sharpe.

Wonder what we will do with the young basketball player we have at TE?

Did you see him play in TC Kaylore?

The Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports WR Peter Warrick is en route to Seattle, the first stop for the wide receiver after he was waived by the Cincinnati Bengals on Tuesday. There's no agreement, but the team is going to meet with Warrick and have him take a physical. Questions about the condition of his knee are probably some of the explanation behind the Bengals' decision to cut him. He played only four games last season because of injuries to his knee and shin. Warrick was the No. 4 overall choice of the 2000 draft. He caught 79 passes in 2003 before being injured most of last season. ESPN.com first reported the news of Warrick's visit with the additional caveat that he had arranged visits to Tampa Bay and the New York Giants.

He looked VERY raw early on but has some talent. He has pretty good body control, too. There was one practice, the second one I watched with Mediator, where he looked pretty good. I'm thinking unless he looks amazing this last game, he's PS material.

Warrick wouldn't be that bad of an option here and he could add extra value with KR skills, but both of these guys will be snatched up by either Seattle or Philly. I hope Watts can improve, that kid can get open like no other but too many drops, Rice may be listed at #3 but he isn't getting in unless it's short yardage or end zone. Watts could get some yards this year but he isn't going to score much, they will yank him so he won't be able to drop anything in the endzone.
