ADVANTAGE POINTS
-The Bronco's forced turnover ratio has shown steady increase from last year and the team's own turnovers have taken a dip; turnovers were a major part of the Bronco's failures in the previous season
-The special teams showed excellent progress after two not-so-great outings, forcing turnovers on kickoffs and punts (including a tip); the Broncos seem to have stopped their unstable punting unit with the addition of P Todd Sauerbrun
-Mike Anderson was the rushing star of the game, limiting Tatum Bell's carries and likewise increasing his chances of locking the top spot on the Bronco RB depth chart
-The Bronco's defensive line transactional efforts in the offseason seemed to have paid off in this preseason game, amounting to a total of 6 sacks for 38 yards, one of which was accounted to rookie CB Darrent Williams and 3 others by DL John Engelberger
-The Broncos were able to control the field position game
DISADVANTAGE POINTS
-Todd Sauerbrun was unable to get hangtime on his kickoffs, consequently amounting to high kickoff return totals for the Colts; the special teams unit could not get their coverage in order before the returns began
-Other than Ashley Lelie outstanding effort, no other receivers really stood out
-Starters Lenny Walls (knee) and Champ Bailey (hamstring) remain slightly injured
-The Broncos had too many penalties (8) resulting in too many yards (86)
-The Broncos had too many missed conversions, resulting in significantly less time of possession than their opponent
GAME NOTES
-Jim Sorgi went 10-for-18 for 99 yards with a TD and an interception in relief of Manning.
-After committing 12 penalties for 89 yards against Chicago last week, the Colts only had four for 35 against Denver.
-Walls left with a bruised knee.
-Broncos tailback Quentin Griffin saw his first action of the preseason and had nine carries for 33 yards.
-Broncos DL John Engelberger had three sacks.
