Jake Plummer: OK, it's tough replacing John Elway, but Jake is replacing Brian Griese, really, and he needs to step up and lead the Broncos to the playoffs or Mike Shanahan could go looking for a new quarterback for next season. Granted, the AFC West is a very competitive division, but none of the defenses are dominant and pass rushers are pretty rare. Jake always has a solid running game, so there are really no excuses if the Broncos don't have a winning record.

Norv Turner: This is only Turner's second season with the Raiders, but with Al Davis spending millions on Moss, running back Lamont Jordan (formerly of the Jets), quarterback Kerry Collins (Giants) and a new $20 million deal for holdover Joey Porter … well, you know Davis is going to demand some excitement and a lot more than five wins. The offensive line is rock solid, too. Turner believes his defense will be much improved, but the onus will be on him to produce a lot of points to keep the Raiders in the division race. It doesn't sound fair to fire him, but we're talking about the Raiders and Al Davis. And Al really wants to win, especially coming off his two worst seasons in his Raider tenure.
he is a goner after this season :injured:

The Broncos have had a winning record and made the playoffs in both seasons with Plummer as the starter. That's not the issue. Cutting down on the interceptions and winning at least one playoff game is the real criteria.
These "experts" should do their homework once in a while.

We are really lucky that Shanny has been able to keep things together like he has. Look at all the other teams in NFL history and how well they do after they try to replace a LEGEND. The only team that pops into my mind as seeming to have a seamless segue was the Niners, I would not call "Dandy Don" a legend or Craig Morton so the Cowboys didn't do it, look how the Dolphins have tanked, the Bills, the impending doom for the Packers etc... Not only did Denver lose the ALL-Legend QB we lost the franchise RB. I am still in the air about Jake, when Denver got the chance to play against him I used to lick my chops, he had talent in Arizona, David Boston, Frank Sanders, Freddie Mitchell, Larry Centers, those guys were pretty good in their prime, so to me it wasn't about talent around him it had to be coaching he's go that now. Honestly I think coaching is the only thing that has held this team together after Elway and Davis's careers were over. So for me this is Jake's make or break year, no more talking about talent or potentional he is a 9 year vet, the team is going to lose the heart of it's O-line soon (Nalen) our WR corps will be hurting big time after Rod leaves, Lynch and Pryce are getting older, this could be our last, best chance to make a run. It will be hard to rebuild after all those guys leave. So step it up Jake we all believe you can do it, a few more "wiser" choices on the field could make it all happen.
