BRONCOS PLACE S BROWNER ON RESERVE/INJURED LIST

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Denver Broncos on Wednesday placed safety Brandon Browner on the reserve/injured list, Head Coach Mike Shanahan announced. The rookie fractured his left radius (forearm) against San Francisco on Saturday.

Browner (6-4, 221 pounds) recorded one pass breakup in two preseason games played for Denver. He joined the Broncos on April 26 as an undrafted free agent from Oregon State University.

Browner started at cornerback in all 25 games played during two seasons at Oregon State, totaling 87 career tackles (74 solo), six interceptions (74 yds.), one sack (2 yds.) and 12 pass breakups. A year after being named Pacific-10 Conference Freshman of the Year, Browner tallied 44 tackles (37 solo) to earn second-team all-conference honors in 2004.

He attended both Sylmar High School (Sylmar, Calif.) and Monroe High School (North Hills, Calif.), finishing his prep career with 16 interceptions as well as 1,726 yards and 24 touchdowns at wide receiver. Brandon Browner was born Aug. 2, 1984, in Sylmar, Calif.

Yeah but at least he's a lock and will get time to rehab and play with the team a little bit.

Sigh...as president of his fan club this is horrible news. I agree with Kaylore tho in that this beast of a talent will come back next year better than ever and the year to learn will be very helpful in his development long-term.

I see very big things from this lad in the future. Let's hope the injury train stops here.

With the expansion of the PS, I would have rather had him placed on the PS so he could participate. I think he will become a very good FS. With that being a position we are thin at, it would have been nice to be able to call him up later if needed.

Lesuer gets a free pass now, but next year Brandon may take his spot.

makes no sense to put him on PS when he's out atleast 6 weeks, let him rehab & start fresh next year where he can have a fresh mind & be coached when he's fully healthy without any questions

i agree PS would be more beneficial, BUT i think he would be picked up off the waivers and we just cant risk that IMO, he is definitely the future saftey for this team.
