I had been hesitant to speak out before because this Administration is so vindictive. But now I will ... Anybody who confronts this Administration or Rumsfeld or the Pentagon with a true assessment, they find themselves either out of a job, out of their positions, fired, relieved or chastised. Their career comes to an end.

Good interview.
Sounds like the General found out the hard way that accountability doesn't exist in the Bush Crime Family.

"Here's Shinseki briefing Rumsfeld that he can't win this war, if they insist on invading Iraq, he can't win this war with less than 300,000 soldiers. I wasn't there to hear it, but allegedly Rumsfeld said to Shinseki: go back and find a way to do this with 125,000 to 150,000. Well, Shinseki came back again and said: Mr. Secretary we can't do it with that number. You need 300,000.
What did Rumsfeld do? If you can't agree with me, I'm going to find somebody who can. He made Shinseki a lame duck, for all practical purposes, and brought in Schoomaker. And Schoomaker got it. He said, "Oh yes sir, we can do this with 125,000."
The blood is on your hands, Rummy.

Bingo.
And, leave us not forget, Rummy is the same pathological liar who emphatically and unequivocally stated that not only did Iraq have WMD but the junta knew where the weapons were located.

It really breaks my heart to think of what these American troops are going through over there. In the first place, they shouldn't be there at all. In the second place, if Shinseki's advice had been followed, it would be over by now (IMO).

Rummu blew it when you refused to listen to the military and went with half the force that was needed.
I don't feel sorry for Janice though. She is lucky that her rank being lowered is the hardest punishment. That Abu Grahib stuff happened on her watch. Her and Rummy should have lost their jobs over that.

Me too.
I understand why the thugs who control the corporate media stopped the saturation coverage of the war after the moron declared "mission accomplished."
This thing woul be over so fast your head would spin if John and Jane Lunch Box could see what's really going on over there.
