There are several problems with the ring. The first is that its listed as a championship ring, but it doesn't say what he was the champion of. The ring is very ugly, too. Either that black in the logo is some kind of enamel or it's dirt. 10kt gold is pretty cheap and not worth the hardness since the difference in strength between 10 and 14 kt is too small. In terms of the rings worth just based on materials, I'd say $300. I suppose you could argue its worth more just based on the alleged "history".

Have you looked in the mirror Khan? That Bling Bling you carry around your neck even Deion wouldn't touch.
SpoilSport! It's only worth 200 bucks. It's neato tho. It would melt down for about 50 bucks. All of those rings are ugly. Well the B2B rings are pretty neato. I don't think 450 is unreasonable for a collectors item.

Agree, for a collector it's a fun piece. Good conversation starter. I think the championship term, along with rare, is used as a title keyword. It's definately a team ring, not championship ring.

got it.
just checked it out.
well, 1981 was a decent year for us, but we didnt win anything.
it says "team ring", but it doesnt say or imply that EVERYONE on the team had one.
personally, my guess is that JUST STEVE had a ring made for himself, and decided to put the logo and his name and position.
"rare" is the wrong word.
its "one of a kind", but then again, it doesnt have the significance
of being a TEAM ring either.
it'd be a nice little collectors item for sure, but i doubt its a TEAM ring
at all.
my guess is its about the same as if deion went on ebay and
started selling some of his "bling bling" that has his number on it.
Meck77
08-25-2005, 01:09 PM
Well my impression was the guy probably had it made for himself. The ring is going to command alot more than 4 bills but it's not even close to the Bucky Dilts ring. Bucky's ring was around 2k with minutes to go. It doubled at the end. I wouldn't be surprised if this one does either.
There are ALOT of ring collectors on ebay.
There is no "Let someone win" in ebay. It's a free market. Winner take all.

Busick was a All Pac 10 Linebacker on the same USc team that featured Browner, DS49, Lott and Jeff Fisher in the Secondary.
Busick took over for Gradishar in 1984 and did lead the team in tackles. Busick went to the Chargers in 1986 but flamed out shortly thereafter.
Busick was a starting ILB for the 1984 Division Champs, who became champs when they beat Seattle, in Seattle, on the final Saturday of the season. Broncos won 31-14.
Hunley and Meck ate away Busick's time and made him expendable.

Busick went to the Rams first and then the Chargers the next year.
I didn't know he played on that USC team. Also had Marcus allen runing the ball and trhis team couldn't win a national championship???
I loved Busick. I was very upset when Danny boy traded for Hunely. That was a huge mistake. That very same season Denver traded him to the Rams he suffered a very severe season ending knee injury. In 1987 he gave it a try with the Chargers and couldn't do it.
