Said that he hopes to do well this season, yada yada. Likes the mental "chessgame" of QBing in the NFL, yada yada. Not as young, talented, etc. as Simms, yada yada.

Ya know something though? I'm cheering for the son of Bob. I hope he gets it all together in Tampa and does well. He's a nice enough guy, he just couldn't keep his **** together when he was here. I'm not going to hold Shanahan's poor judgement of character against him.

Best of luck Brian, hope you knock 'em dead in Tampa! :)

Back when he was with the Broncos, and Gruden had the WCO with the faid, I felt that Griese out be a perfect fit for that offense. He has a weak arm, like Gannon, but he does throw a good short range pass, like Gannon. The faid had the perfect dink and dunk offense for SOB. I'm not shocked that he's finally doing well in an offense that's perfect for him.

Griese doesn't have anywhere near the mobility that Gannon had. Hell, Gannon is probably still better on the run than Griese years later with a broken neck.

Mobility doesn't mean much in a dink and dunk offense. All Gannon did was a 5 step drop, then dump the ball off to a guy who was within five yards of the line of scrimmage. Griese not being able to run won't kill him in that type of offense.

Griese's not as driven as Gannon was.

Griese can rot for all I care. Let him stink it up in Tampa and then whine that he has no one to throw to and see how well that goes over down there.

F'n gutless wonder.

I'm willing to forgive and let Griese's Bronco stay go. I hope the guy does well except whenever they play us.

That's true, but my point wasn't to compare Griese to Gannon. I was just saying that that is the best type of offense for Griese.

Griese had a QB rating 10 points higher than Plummer. An argument that either stats are meaningless, as I have stated, or that Griese is the better QB.

Wanna compare their win/loss records over their respective times in Denver?

When Greise was given an excellent pocket, he played well. If he had to improvise, he sucked. He had good accuracy with the short and midrange passes. His deep passes were always an adventure.

I agree. In the right system, he will do fine.
