For the Broncos, this even though my father was a Bronco fan for life. I remember once we made a bet on a Bronco game and the looser would ware the others team shirt (God I looked sick in blue and Orange), Another time we were watching a Bronco/ Eagles game. Now as a Raider fan I知 always rooting for whoever plays Denver, anyway the Eagles took the lead and I let out a harmless yelp and the SOB throws me out of his house, The memories. Anyway I have been reading this board for years and have got to say you have some real smart fans and I look forward to the battles of being a Raider fan and posting over here. I have gone to the last three season openers and this year I could not make it, so looking at the schedule I said to myself what game would mean the most to me no matter what our record is and the answer is I知 going to a game on Nov 13 got my tickets. Peace Bronco fans I hope this post finds you all well.

How did you do I know you won any concerns??

Some Broncos fans are concerned that the offense didn't come right out and score in either of the first two series against the Texans... that Houston scored first (in their second series) and that veteran LB Al Wilson allowed a young TE to catch a Tony Banks pass for a TD. The goalline stand our defense made in the Texans' first series (withstanding four attempts to punch it into the endzone from the one-yard line) was a thing of beauty, though.

As is pretty normal in the first preseason game, there were too many stupid (avoidable) penalties and with some of the starters sitting out the game, cohesion of the O-line and D-line could have been better. Still, it was a win and no serious injuries were sustained, so I'm not unhappy with that.

Welcome to the Mane, btw.

The Broncos will be sitting at the bottom of the AFC West because you're the worst team in the division! The Raiders on the other hand got Randy Moss, the best player in the NFL, and LaMont Jordan while you guys got old and washed up Jerry Rice, the big bust Ron Dayne, and no-talent Maurice Clarett. The one good move you suckers made was in signing Ian Gold - but that won't be enough to save you guys from plummeting next season!

Moss renegotiated his contract down TWICE to around the league minimum to help the Raiders sign some more players. The other Raiderse love Randy - he's helping out the young WRs and is committed to winning.

And while they were teammates did he rip Culpepper? He's not like TO who pits all the blame elsewhere - Moss is a team player.

He's getting help from the Raiders' big free-agent acquisition, Randy Moss. In fact, Turner said, Moss has been assisting all the young receivers, "showing them how to run routes and get open.''

"We're about the same size,'' said Morant, who is 6-foot-4 and 215 pounds (Moss is listed as 6-4 and 205), "although we're not exactly the same kind of receiver. He's helped me a lot because he's played in the league for several years so he can tell all of us what to expect.

"When I'm playing with a guy who has been that good, I try to learn from him. Like, last year, when Jerry Rice was here, I talked to him and watched him to see how he did it. Now, I'm doing that with Randy.''

The point was that Randy Moss has never been... and is not now... what anyone could accurately describe as a "team player". He's a self-promoting prima donna who takes plays off routinely and admits that he "plays when I want to".

Any suggestions that he's going to suddenly change all that now is nothing more than a prayer. He is what he is.... a very talented, but extremely selfish football player.

To be fair, there were 2 ways Ryan could have approached it, put the whole system in and worry about players later or only put parts of the system in and lose a year with his outside swing guys just playing 4-3 DE and not 3-4 OLB. He chose the former.

Anyhow, Sapp isnt even on the field when they use a 3 man line this season.

SF only ran 12 plays or so in the first half so my "looks" at the defense were few.

Brayton looks to be in the 260lb range and moving pretty well in space. (playing the "McGinnest" SSLB spot)

Sam Williams turned a couple of weakside runs back inside for the ILB's to clean up keeping outside leverage.

In nickel and dime situations they're using a 4 man line exclusively with Kelly and Sapp getting push up the middle and Burgess and DeLawrence Grant lined up wide angling inwards.

They are banking on a lot of improvement from within, but outside of Burgess, just about everyone's been in the system an entire year with most of the FA's providing depth at this point. I believe they will be improved but how much is anyone's guess.

Almost as funny as Shanny living off that mastermind rep from 10 years ago.

Well, other than the fact that no one on this thread has tried to sell "Shanahan the mastermind"... but your fellow Fadefan did try to sell "Moss the team player" when the Randy Moss we've all seen throughout his NFL career is essentially the polar opposite of a team player.

He's been a consumate professional thus far. It's within the realm of possibility that a change of scenery was all the guy needed. Besides, it's not like he beat his wife or anything.

No, just a perennial Pro Bowl QB that threw for nearly 40 TD's last season and it appears he managed to fall out of favor with him.......along with everyone else in the Vikings organization.

Just keep telling yourselves that everything will change now that he's in Chokeland. I'm sure the Eagles and their fans were saying the same thing about their big WR acquisition a year ago too.

WTF? Cullpepper would of won the NFL TD title with 40 if Manning didn't have a crazy year with 49. And Moss missed 7 games, and was limited when he came back. Yet Dante had his best year yet.

There is every reason to believe that Cullpepper can make the HOF if he continues to play well, especially if he can get this years team deep in the playoffs.

You're pre emptive attacks have no more basis in reality than my take. Everything thus far points to a guy who just wants to play and not be the center of attention. We are paying him well so a TO type debacle aint happening.

Moss had a third of the receiving TD's (13 of the 39) and missed a third of the games. The Vikings didn't beat a single opponent with a winning record without him and beat 2, Jaguars and Green Bay, with him.

You're probably right, but since the Pimp Daddy left town, that beneficary of the Peter Principle, Mike Tice has been running the show... not exactly a great offensive mind.

Anyhow, I'm fairly confident that Moss will not act out in Oakland, as he has a close friend in the owners box. Moss was admittedly pissed for getting traded for a player he never heard of. All signs point to him growing up, but it's a wait and see proposition. Running smack about what happened in Minnesota is really irrevelant to this upcoming season.

No basis in reality? ??? Moss' long history of selfishness and flavor clownery speaks for itself. My "pre emptive attack" asserts that sort of behavior is just a part of Randy Moss, while it appears that you'd like to suggest that geography was responsible.

Tell you what... perhaps you can point to one example of a major prima donna making a 180 and becoming a team player solely as the result of a move to a new team. In response, I'll point to flavor clowns all around the league who continue their antics without missing a beat. Same clown; different city.

It really doesnt matter. You cannot compare another situation to the Raiders where the players have the ear of the owner, as much as, if not more than the coaching staff.

One thing the guy never griped about is money. A lot of that other stuff got blown out of proportion because it was Moss, and no other reason. If Todd Pinkston fake moons the crowd, it's a footnote on page 31.

Moss never heard of Napoleon Harris? It's not the first time Moss has had his ego bruised.

Moss should have been pissed about getting let go by both Notre Dame and Florida State. This was the same guy who dropped to the 21st overall pick of the draft when he was argubly the best player on the board and had a scrub receiver named Kevin Dyson taken ahead of him. None of those instances motivated Moss to change.

That being said, the Raiders don't need Moss to front and be something he's not. They love these types of guys. Don't give me your Moss feel good stories because they are all bull****. Moss is going to talk ****, he's going to smoke his weed and he's going to score his double digit TDs. That's who he is.

It would seem more logical to me to expect a player to continue to behave the way he has consistently behaved throughout his career than to expect him to make a 180-degree change in his conduct.

No one has said he's not talented... we're saying he is not a team player. He is a talented self-promoting flavor clown.

WTF? First, Pimp Daddy had run any sort of discipline down to the point it was becoming ludicrous up here. I guess Tice is a moron, that's why Cullpepper threw 40 TD's and Moss was out half the year. We all heard from Randy he was going to be a team leader, than he carried a metermaid slowly down the street after a U-Turn and had a blunt in his ashtray that belonged to "A friend".

And when did he become "Best Friends" with Moss? I haven't heard anything about Greasy Al giving out his fan bought Mansion so Randy could throw a ho party. That's what Moss' friends do right?

It's not my fault Moss had never heard of Nap Harris...everyone else had on draft day. I bet Greasy Al and Nap Harris were best friends too on draft day! What exactly makes you so confident Moss is going to be a model citizen in Oakland? Remember when T.O. recited the same damn thing one year ago? A close friend in the Owner's Box. How amusing. What, his ho? Did Randy grow up in Oakland, or has he planted someone in senile Al's box to tell him what plays to run? Tell us the "close friend", this should be hillarious. I bet it's part of his "posse"...isn't it...or his ho.

Cullpepper threw 40 TD's

And Moss still caught 1/3rd of them. Not to mention they lost every game against a team with a winning record when Moss was out.

Since Day 1, the only thing that Mr. Al Davis and his organization have shown is straight Class A hospitality, and I can really appreciate that," Moss said. "I'm overwhelmed by it, I really am."

Moss isn't TO - he's a team player and doesn't rip on his teammates. He does rip general managers like the Vikings' Red McCombs who have cap space in the millions but refuse to spend it on free agents.

Browncos are going to melt down next year.

That example of a Raider fan was spreading around neg rep (and amassing it in return) so fast one would think it had value. However, some of his language was unacceptable on this board and as a result, he won't be around for the next 30 days. Too bad, too... it might have been amusing to watch him trying to spin "team player" Moss' public admission to breaking the NFL's substance abuse policy. Ha!

Moss didn't have a HOF quarterback fall into his lap.

or did Shannahan actually walk Elway into the hall? Do you think he would be considered for induction without the Superbowl win?

His AFC win is the reason Marino got inducted and they even started looking at other players who have been passed by including last year's inductee Fritz Pollard. That is pretty impressive if you think about it.

Shanny gets victimized because he knew that Elway was good? I think that is short sighted and a little redudant. Of course it's harder to Captain a team with lesser mortals! Why is that such a sudden insight? Luck? You don't think he could have had other jobs? You think it's easy to actually win a Superbowl. Apparently they will let anyone get into the thing.

I get tired of hearing people gagging on the fact Shannahan's teams don't go 8-8 for example. Is 8-8 a good thing? Show me where it's good? Did the Raiders draft better? Did they have a better season the next year?

I'm sorry. Let me be brief. The Raiders suck! Questions?
