My off season will be complete if Kiki can somehow persuade Finley from going to Miami. Broncs pulled some surprise moves but they seem to be turning out just fine.

He'll end up in Miami. Donnie Nelson said that if they couldn't find a suitor for a trade that the Mavs had to be sure he'd end up somewhere in the East. Miami and Detroit are both willing to devote the entire MLE to Fin.
Not that he needs it. The Mavs are still paying $51 million over 3 years to that no-handles, non-penetrating, fadeaway jumper shooting defensive liability that disappears in the playoffs.

As a big time Finley fan, I hope he doesn't end up in Miami, I don't mind the Heat, I just can't stand Shaq.

If he's smart, he looks at the lineups before he signs. Finley'd probably be backing up Wade and fighting with Posey for PT in Miami. He'd start here.

:welcome: James. I hated delivering you bad news. Sometimes the messenger deserves to be shot. Ha.

You sounded like you were going to cry on that voice mail. Not that I blamed you. Nothing like finding out Forsberg is leaving and then having to immediately go to Kansas City.

Finley will back up Wade or you could have Wade & Finley in the same backcourt. Posey will back up 'toine at the sf or posey will start and 'toine will back up Haslem or Posey. Miami could definately use Finley & he would get 25-30 mins a game. You could even move Finley to the small forward position at times.

If Toine is playing the 3, Miami is in a lot bigger trouble than I thought.

First...Miami's starters next year will be PG:Jason Williams, SG: Dwayne Wade, SF: Antoine Walker, PF: Udonis Haslem, and C: The Big Aristotle...no room for Finely as the starter...Thats why he'll either go to Denver or Phoenix...As for the Suns, they wasted money today by signing Brian Grant to a 2 year deal worth 4 million, an awful signing if you ask me...

Marc Stein reported that the Spurs were in the running for Finley. :( That would suck.
I wish he would have taken a six man role here in Dallas. He could really have helped us coming off the bench.
It doesn't look good for Mavericks this season. It's a bad day to have to make my final payment on my season tickets.

Why wouldn't he go to Miami? They will be a legit title contender, he's getting up there in age(32) & will play a key role of 25-30 mpg. Wade tends to get banged up because of his style of play. Finley will be able to step in and start a game or 2.

Bigger trouble than you thought? The Heat have only 2 competitors(detroit, Indiana) to get to the Finals. You can't tell me that either one of those teams are significantly better.

If Toine is playing the three they will be. He's a 4. Miami better pray that he just comes in, rebounds hard, plays D and only shoots threes when he's open. If he reverts to the Toine of Dallas or the Toine from the playoffs last year, they're in trouble and Shaq will smack him down.
