I have two chances to get a win...I'm willing to bet that I can pull off a winless season.

I keep telling you

you used up your favors from the devil last year

this year he already has your soul AND your FFL team by the balls

To say nothing of my bad karma in the geek... oh wait, different thread.

On the subject of add/drops... is anybody thinking that we need to limit the number a team can make per week? It just seems like this could be a potential loophole to be used as strategy against some teams if a player is picked up, only to be redropped and unavaliable until the next waivers or week. Is this nitpicking on my part?

Rascal

No on the nitpicking...yes on limiting the number of moves per week.

Old Dude
10-13-2005, 03:10 PM
When a player is dropped (either via the waiver wire or in the free agent moves) he's only "locked" for 48 hours.

So the real problem would be if someone started cycling through defenses or kickers or whatnot late in the week. The waiver wire is over by then anyway.

Of course the problem is that you often don't know what the injury status is for certain people until late in the week. And sometimes you have trades that aren't finalized until then either.

But if you all want to limit the number of free agent moves to 2 or 3 a week that would be fine with me. Another alternative would be to reduce the "locked" period from 48 hours to 24.

Jaguars | Taylor Misses Practice, Downgraded to Questionable
Thu, 13 Oct 2005 14:00:29 -0700

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Fred Taylor (ankle) did not practice Thursday, Oct. 13, and was downgraded from probable to questionable for the Week 6 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday, Oct. 16. The team is still hopeful he will be able to play.

Just wanted to point out something ...

If you guys decide to do the interconference double-headers again next year, it would really make sense to schedule the games, as TJ suggested weeks ago, during non-bye weeks.

This week is a good example. I have Terrell Owens on a bye. My NPN opponent, NU Red, has no one on bye.

(Maybe he did a few weeks ago, before various trades were made, but he doesn't now.)

As a result, I have to face Moss & Holt this week without Owens to help offset that.

The point being that although you guys went through painstaking efforts to match up teams in terms of players and bye weeks and such, all that effort went for naught as soon as we had a handful of high profile trades.

Even though I've been screwed by this situation, I'm not upset, because I've gotten so ridiculously freaking lucky on so many other aspects of this season. But it is still a good reason why you should rethink the scheduling of interconference games next year.

We now return you to your regular program.

Totally... Interconference games should be at full strength. I think they are a cool idea, but I think they need to be done so that they are fair to everybody, and that means during weeks when eveybodies teams are at full strength, IMO.

Another Public Service Announcement:

RotoWire.com Staff - RotoWire.com
Thursday, October 13, 2005
Update: D. Foster (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Detroit and indications are that he'll sit this weekend, the Charlotte Observer reports.

Recommendation: Nick Goings figures to see at least some playing time one way or another with both Foster and Stephen Davis banged up and questionable for Sunday's game. Foster has been stretching defenses with his pass catching abilities so his absence could hurt the Panthers more than expected.

NO, but you don't have to give away my strategy either!!! Still, even if you limited it to 2 moves per week I could still work my angle...it's part of the game! Think of it like Shanny or Billichek listing 15 players as probable..... GAMESMENSHIP!!! Nnyah!

I'm just hoping for a split this week.

Where's that sucker Owens when I need him?

My whole week is going to depend on Reggie Wayne and Drew Bennett, who have only managed to catch two TDs between them in 10 combined games.

The only thing that could possibly save me is if David Carr gets sacked a zillion times.

Let's see:

QB: Green versus Skins or Griese versus Dolphins
RB1: McGahee versus Jets
RB2: Lewis versus Cleveland
RB3: Dunn versus Saints
WR1: C Johnson versus Titans

TE: Gates versus Oakland
K: Graham versus Titans
D: Falcons versus Saints

My matchups suck...I'm going to lose every game by 50 at least.

I'm torn big time!!! Bulger vs the Colts (Issac Bruce out, Holt 50/50 to play) or Griese vs the Phins (Dolphins ranked about 15th in the league vs the pass. Griese's been playing poorly lately. Gruden promises to get Clayton more touches. Caddy probably sits again so they'll throw some. But, I'm pretty sure the Colts will be up on the Rams and force Bulger to throw a lot. That means lots of yards, but it also means lots of sacks and probably a few INT's. HELP!!!

Also, who do you go with Joey Galloway vs the Phins or Eddie Kennison vs the Skins???

No ****. I just saw others expressing their opinions on the scoring so I added mine. I just think there should be a cut off so it doesn't round down all the time when a guy has 9 yards instead of 10.

Atlanta had two defensive scores...why do I only get credit for one?

They got one from a fumble recovery and another for a blocked FG returned for a TD. Is that not a ST's score? I should have more points then that then.

Well you pointed out something I already knew. Look at it this way. Your FG kicker nails a 60 yard field goal and that gets you 7 points. Then he nails a 84 yard field goal and that only gets you 7 points. It doesn't seem right that a kick that is easier to make should be worth the same as a impossible kick. Its pretty much the samething as rounding up and its not like its going to effect one team more then others. It evens out in the end, but it does tend to make the scores look better then 73 to 66.

Nah screw it, lets beat him up some more. After all, we had to deal with his insufferable rants about domination in two leagues last year. HA HA HA! Evil head is now just an evil growth, maybe even just an evil pimple.

Dog pile!

Rascal, I'll check into the defensive scoring for the ATL, but if it was a special teams td, then obviously, it wont count for the defense. Some leagues do count in special teams to the defense, but this league doesnt, mainly because defenses already get some huge numbers (too much IMO) and the special teams would really be hard to add in.

DBroncos, I've never played in a league where they round up yards, but there are some leagues that spread the bonus when you get near 100 yards as detailed below...

Example, lets say Marshall Faulk is at 97 yards rushing. For every yard up to 100 from there, he gets one point ie (1 pt @ 98, 1 pt @ 99 and 1 pt @ 100), so that you can still recieve some compensation if your guy just misses the century mark.

It's been a long long long year thus far. Culpepper has destroyed the Brigade by himself with his "love boat" ventures that he takes the team on. Rudy has only scored 2 rushing tds all year. Marvin Harrison doesnt' show up anymore. Fisher uses brown to get to the endzone then gives it to somebody else just to spite me. Pittsburgh's defense has become a sieve. Btw, if the offense throws a pic and it's returned for a td, the defense shouldn't be punished for that...but alas...fvck it. JP losman destroyed Moulds for me. Charles Rodgers is on crack and suspended. And my RB depth consists of backups due to injuries. For god's sake I have to start TJ Duckett just to start a full squad. Atleast I have my jersey from last year. Fvck you all!

At this point bro, Culpecker is going to be the real bane of your team. If you cannot get a good performance out of him next week against their main rivals in the Pack, then you might need to pack in the year. Yeah, special teams counted in 2003, but last year they did not. I think Winstoncup accidentally forgot to change that during the Neck Pony draft last year and TJ drafted the Chiefs d thinking that they included special teams. But, to my recollection, Winston changed it so that special teams didnt count... but my memory is fuzzy about that from last year...

Want to hear something really funny? This is the Dicotomy of my FF life. I have Curtis in the geek league in which you and I are facing off. I'm down by 9 points, and you have harrison left to go aswell. Now, in the two OM games, I have harrison, and my two opponents have Curtis. I can either root for Curtis and lose two games, and subsequentley(totally botched that word) beat you. Or, I can root for harrison and win two games in a league I have zero chance at the playoffs in but wouldn't be 0-6. This is what I like to call a double dicker. I'm dicked atleast one way no matter what happens. Of course, I'll tell you whats going to happen. Neither Harrison or Curtis are going to put up any points and I'm going to lose all 3 games. Seriously, if I wasn't such a swell guy I'd be raffling off my team to people left and right.

Ha! Double dicker!

If Reb got high points, that is like the 4th person to get high points against me. Even if my pathetic team could score past 80, we'd still lose by 30 or so points. Fvck me running. FVCK FVCK FVCK. Seriously, I'm on the verge of a breakdown on this one. I can't believe I can't win a gosh darn game. This time last year I was undefeated in both leagues. Now I have 2 wins combined. I think you're just having some bad luck. 5 of the 7 teams you've faced have scored over 100 points the week they've played you. 4 of them scored 109 or better.

Only one team has put up a mediocre performance against your guys (70 pts.) and, unfortunately for you, that was the same week you had your worst score of the year.

I'm sure your luck will turn around very soon.

I'm happy Drew Bennett broke his thumb.

That's probably harsh, considering I own him.

But I am so sick of that guy being a game time decision every week.

I want to be able to set my lineup on Wednesday or Thursday, and then just forget about it until the games are over.

Nothing's more frustrating than trying to get those last minute updates on who's going to play and who's going to sit ... even when they are accurate ... and then trying to get onto the site to do anything about it at the same time five hundred thousand other FFLers are chewing up the bandwidth.

I agree, that's why I was relieved to finally trade a guy like Tony Gonzalez away. I felt obligated to start him knowing that he probably wasn't going to do shiat for me! Same goes for guys like Bennett, wondering each week if they're going to play and how productive they'll be. An injury removes the doubt and allows you to focus on a replacement that will atleast get you some points!

We all put in our 35.00 to play so if there needs to be a vote then it should be decided by everyone. I'm gonna be in a nailbiter vs the Jabba the Hutt offspring tomorrow but at least I managed to get some decent production out of my wideouts and two of my rb's. Jamal Lewis is the piece of this puzzle that is really keeping me from really being a solid team. God, why did I even bother wasting a second rounder on that piece of garbage? I hated that pick then... and I hate it now. Go with your gut Pezman you idiot!

Hey, I kept screaming at Barber to fumble the ball all through the 4th quarter, but he wouldn't listen to me.

Meanwhile, depending on how a couple games go tonight, it looks like the NPN conference might kick some OM butt this week.

Can you post them...I can't see them while at work.

He's only partway through & hasn't done the NPN or interconference games. But here's the lowdown on the games in the OM:

Orange Mane League

Pezzy (5-4) vs. Lovable Losers (1-8)

God love those lovable losers, but they just can't seem to buy a break, since they score over 80 points and still lose 98-90, sure 90 points isn't a lot you say, but to this team averaging about 70, it's like an outbreak of points...we are talkin' the UNLV Runnin' Rebels of 1990 here in regards to their point total. MVP of this game goes to Pezzy Thomas Jones....Lord knows why they drafted Cedrick Benson (the bears) so high when they have this stud in their midst, the dude just does not want to give up, nor do I think he should, guy has just been a fantasy stud all year long for the "machine". What's with the losers kicker getting 19 points...UGH again with the kickers, if Pezzy would've lost b/c of a kicker, I fear the wrath of the commish that may have occured.

Garcia (4-5) vs. Reb (5-4)

In a game for the ages (ok, maybe that was a little bit of an over-statement) Garcia doesn't have to throw his computer as he wins 99-97, although REB might want to think about throwing that computer after losing by a measley 2 points. Dual MVPs for this one, with Stephan Jackson and Mark Brunell both getting 22 points. REB really can't look at his team and go...man, if I only would've started...if, if, if, there are no ifs in this one, as Garcia had more points on his bench just waiting to be used. But dem are da breaks folks in this game we call fantasy football. REB is hurting as he loses Ahman Green for the rest of the year, although it's not like Green was tearing it up, but it's probably fair since ole REB stole Antowain Smith from Philly earlier this year.

Toothy McTooth (3-6) vs. Flava full Clows (8-1)

In a grand ole girly slap fest, the Flava clows "win" 88-63. MVP of this game goes to the 'edge, he simply jumped off U2's tour bus and ran for over 100 yards and a touchdown and got the clowns 28 point and a victory. I'm not saying this game was boring folks, I'm just saying I even saw a nursing home patient get bored watching this game. The sad thing, Dr. Teeth actually had the mightiest flava clown on his team with 32 points, but it was all for naught, since the rest of his team failed to show up to the game. Some how the clows, just like Old Dude keep winning and have obviously already locked up a playoff spot, now they are both just jockeying for position in their same division, it's a shame one of them is going to have to be a wild card. Two 8-1 teams in the same division folks, I'm glad I'm not in that kind of division, I demand mediocrity from my division and that is what I get dangit.

Goat Ropers (6-3) vs. Philly (5-4)

After starting off with only one loss, the goat ropers drop two this week and lose this one to Philly 105-74. MVP of this game goes to Lamont Jordan with 37 points. Thank God for the Bills run defense if you are Lamont Jordan as he sprung to life with a mighty snarl and grunt. Goats finally got brought back to reality a little wit this humiliating defeat. Philly felt good to win this one and was heard to say after this game.......I did it for the kids man, for the kids, I love winning one for Philly. The goats maxed out basically so no help from the bench was either seen nor heard. The ole goat roper lost his rope and was unable to wrangle Philly to the ground. Still the fantasy god is in trouble at 5-4 and in the same division as the 8-1 teams.

Evil Givers of Head (1-8) vs. Delaware (5-4)

AND THE LORD SAID, GIVE OLE SIDEBURN A WIN!!! The heavens opened up and the rain came down and Delaware gives it up like a 15 year old virgin on prom night to the Head Brigade 82-67. MVP of this one goes to Culpecker, finally, the QB highly drated goes for 23 points and helps ole Sidey with a win. Of course only scoring 82 points is not exactly an offense juggernaught, in fact, it's down right girl-fightish if you ask me.....but when you are winless, you will take a win either way you can. Delware got nothign from LT2 and it caused his downfall in this one, not even the great and mighty LT2 could save him this week. The givers a head finally win and there are no more winless team in the league....hallelujah, or something like that, either way, I don't see any playoffs in store for the head brigade, just live off last year Sideburn, you are the Raiders of the league...."BUT WE WON ONCE BEFORE"

Sin City Mob (8-1) vs. Suto (3-6)

Well apparently the mob got sick of my ranting on their payoffs and finally put a complete game together in a thrasing of the Suto's 138-73. It was an ass-kicking of epic proportions as MVP of this game goes to Mike Anderson with 21 points. Why Mike? Well he is a Bronco and I was instructed to give it to him "or else". I don't know about you folks, but I don't want to wake up with my dog's head in my bed, I have an aversion to that for some reason. Either way, the Mobsters just keep rolling to an 8-1 start, where will it end? Who knows, with the kind of underworld muscle they pack, I wouldnt want to be the team that beats them, if they ever want to see their children again. The mob rules.........

ok folks, I'll finish this in about an hour.....sorry work calls.....more to come soon

Neck Pony Division

Sassy (3-6) vs. Fat Asses (3-6)
In the sissy fight of the week, the Fat Asses pulled Sassy's hair until she cried, then they stole her makeup and her purse for a 83-55 win. MVP of this game goes to MossII, the better Moss so far this year. Kind of weird to say, I know, but it is true. I'm still not sure how or why Brunnel and Moss seem to be working, but whatever works I guess. Being as that I picked up Brunnel, I have no qualms about this. Sassy's team without LT2 putting up his usual 25+ was just a non-factor this week. It doesn't help that she had to start two WRs that have actually ZERO chance of getting any passes. One b/c he is a 4th string WR and the other, Andre Johnson, who is on the bench, still hurtin'. Then you add in the fact that her TE gets a big whoppin' zero points, it's hard to win, when 3 of your starters get as many points as I do sitting on the couch. Someone could do well to offer Sassy a little somethin', somethin' to improve her team and yours a little bit......could LT2 be on the trading block for some depth? Tune in. Oh yeah, fat asses, Tampa Bay had a bye week......don't start players on a bye week!!!

Crunch on my Munch (6-3) vs. Ultra Sonic (4-5)
The crunchers just refuse to lose and beat down the gear shifters 102-53. This was the blowout of the week folks as the MVP goes to the Detroit Lions defense with 21 points. Drafting Pay-a-ton so high is continuing to bite the players asses of those who drafted him. And not in a dirty/sexy bite on the ass kinda way, I'm talking a full on pit bull clench...OUCH. While I'm not sure why he didn't start Plaxico Burress, I am proud of the Gear Sticks for not starting someone going against our beloved Broncos. The crunchers just keep on winning...how you ask? I'm not sure looking at his team, but he just seems to keep marching on.

Shack (5-4) vs. Taco (5-4)
In the sun's shines on a dog's ass every once in awhile game, I put together a solid game in a 116-57 trouncing of the high scorer of the league. While I take no credit in this other than pure blind luck, I'll still take a W and high points of the week, it won't happen again, I realize that, but for once in my life, I can say I scored the most...YEAAAHHHHAAWWW. MVP of this game goes to Lamont Jordan with 37 points. I've said it before and I'll say it again, if you have a running back going against the Bills...please play them, unless you are playing me. I realize Bills had a good defense last year, but this year, they sucketh baws. I do say that I had Donald Driver on my bench with 20 points, so this lucky butt-kicking could have been worse, but I felt bad for our glorious leader and didnt' start him.....yeah, that's it. None of Taco's running back's showed up and when you have little else at WR besides Hines Ward, there is not much you can do except grin and bear it.

MT (5-4) vs. Bastardson'sofad'oh!! (5-4)
In the barn burner game of the week, Bastards sneaked out a W with a strong performance on Monday night from the Falcons, more specificially Warrick Dunn and the Falcons D. Bastards win 116-103, with the MVP honors going to the Falcons D, Brett Favre scored more points, but the 21 point output by the Falcons D helped seal the W. They didn't allow m any trash yards and had 4 turnovers and 1 defensive TD. You have to like that kind of performance coming from your defense. MT just didn't quite have enough fire power to outlast the Bastards. 103 is a good score, which will win you 90% of your games, but this week, it just wasn't enough as Bastards took down the previous division leader (thanks rascal)...yeah I want her to lose, she's in my division for crying out loud!!! hehe

Slobber n Drool (3-6) vs. Richy Cunningham (6-3)
The barefoot Richy's took down the slobber fest in a 104-84 victory. The MVP of this game goes to Clinton Portis with 32 points. Ouch.....you got to hate getting beat down b/c of what the ex-Bronco did. There is nothing worse than a flava clown beating you down with his pimp juice and walking stick. Slobber had little help from his WR core and didn't start Daunte Culpecker, although that would've only given him 9 more points, scoring over 90 helps in the tie breakers near the end of the year. Richy told Potsy to sit on it and walks away smiling in this game.

Mock's Drunks (6-3) vs. NU Red (3-6)
I just realized I said Mock was in the OM league, apparently lack of sleep will do that to you. Anyway, Mock got liquored up and shot his way into town, just like the ole west in a 103-66 victory. Mock's MVP was Edgerin James with 28 points. I'm still shocked at how stupid I sounded above, i could edit it, but in reality, I need to admit my stupidity and deal with it.....sorry about that Mock. Mock is leading his division and looks strong with every facet of his team, as long as his Cadilac can come back, his running backs should be ok. NU is in trouble folks.......maybe Bill Callahan can save him and take over this team for him....F'n Hill Billies Acutally I keeeed, his team is solid, but apparently they don't want to show up when they are told to.

INTERCONFERENCE GAMES

Bastardsonsofad'oh vs. Pezzy
In the first interconference game, bastards did the NPN league proud and gave the middle finger to Pezzy in a 116-98 victory. Again, this was won on Monday night with Warrick Dunn going crazy and the Falcons D showing up STRONG. MVP is the Falcons D, as for reasons stated above. Pezzy had to be nervous going in to this game with Dunn and the D goig against v-v-v-v-vinny....vinny and the jeeetttttssahhh. Pay-a-ton is just not paying off dividends for Pezzy yet and this has to be frustrating for the Pez man. While I laugh at his folley, I do take pride in the fact I didn't draft that f'n hill billy. Jamal Lewis is not working out either for his owners, but luckily for rascal Dunn is working out for him. Speaking of, how good would rascal be if he didn't do those pre-season trades?

Mock vs. Garcia
Chalk another one up for the NPN league in the 103-99 exciting game vs. these two opponents. Mock sat down at the table and Garcia could not out drink Mock. I hear quarters were their game of choice, but Mock has obviously learned the art of inebriated movement. MVP of this game is again the 'Edge. Bono must be proud. I hate to say it, but if Crumpler gets a TD or if Garcia starts Heath Miller...his beloved Hokie...Garica wins...d'oh!

Crunchers vs. Dr. Teeth
Cruchers bit back and took down the teeth people 102-63. MVP of this game goes to the Lions D, they put the GRRRR in ARRRGGGHHH baby. Every time I think of the Lions, I think of Bangs cartoon of Jeff Garcia in his little Lioness costume, that was was going through my head when I said arrrggggh, I'm not sure how to do an effimenant arrggggh. Anyway, another win for the NPN league. What is that 3 right now? Teeth wasted the flava clowns 32 point output with a pathetic effort from every one of his other players. Clinton will soon take his ball and go home.

Evenrude vs. Goat Ropers
Evenrude kicked and clawed and would not be takin' in the by the goat ropers 83-74. They tried to stick the goat noose around rude's head, but he was just too shifty for him. MVP of this game goes to Moss2 with 20 points. That is 4 in a row for the NPN league...GO Division go. Truthfully though, as a proud member of the NPN league, I kind of hoped every team would lose except me.....I'm selfish like that. This game was indeed a sissy fight and I am ashamed I put up an MVP, but he did score over 80 points.

Slobber and Drool vs. Evil Head Brigade...givers of head mind you
In the sissy game of the week, I mean this was so good, you had football players cheering on these two in a slap fight, hoping they would see some skin....ok that sounded a little gay, but give me a break, I think of a sissy fight, I think of two chicks going at it. Slobber's EEEEKED out a victory, 84-82. MVP of this game goes to Lav. Coles...sure others scored more, but Coles 9 points on Monday night helped him eeeek out a win. Every time that Coles caught a pass, I could hear the screams of outrage coming from 20 miles away in Yukon Oklahoma. Should I mention that if Sidey started Brandon Jones he would've won? No, I wont' mention that, oh wait, I just did. Once again, the NPN wins again.....that is 5 in a row?

MT vs. Mobsters of Sin City
Mobsters generally don't beat down women, but they made an exception to the rule with a 138-103 drubbing of ole MT. The NPN takes on on the chin in this game folks as no team in all the land could've beat up the Mobsters this week. MVP of this game goes to Mike Anderson. He did his godfather proud. Do you think Old Dude wears a sweat suit like Al Davis on game day to oversee his "workers" Granted that may be just a Hollywood cliche, but don't most mob bosses wear a fancy sweat suit when they are lounging around the house? I seem to think this is the case. MT put up a good fight, but she just didn't have enough firepower against the Orange Mane Mob.......of course, who does though? He does just enough to win.

Taco vs. Bman
Ugh, these kinds of games are just plain ugly, where neither team scores over 89 points. But a win is a win I suppose and the OM league wins again (2 in a row) 88-57. "MVP" and I say that tongue in cheek, goes to the Edge with 28 points. Taco's problem was that he broke the cardinal sin of FFL, he got a little too proud of his team and started proclaiming his high point totals every week. The FFL gods watch dilligently and take down the mightiest of the mighty. Be warned oooo players of FFL, the FFL gods are watching.....and they are not impressed.

NU Red vs. Philly
Philly gives NU more than a brotherly love hug in a 105-66 beat down of the cornhusker lover. MVP of this game goes again to Lamont with 37 points. NU just needs to get with Callahan, seriously, his team is in need of some serious motivation. You know who I think of when I think of motivation, none other than Bill Callahan. That's right, the best darn coach in the big 12, at least if you ask Nebraska fans. Philly just does enough to win this week after he makes up for his 0-2 week last week. It is always nice to go 2-0 during the weeks you have these games. What do you know, the OM league wins again, I feel them streaking (now put some damn pants on)

Shack vs. Lovable Losers
How much I have kidded the bad news bears of the league, I surely thought the fantasy gods would have it in for me, but I pull out another victory 116-90. Sure is nice to go 2-0, I stated that earlier, but man, it really is. MVP of this game goes to Lamont with 37 points. I said it before and I'll say it again, luck is a wonderful thing. I careered the week I needed to and I probably won't score over 100 points again, but damnit, at least I got my 5 buck gift certificate!! I feel fully vindicated. Go team shack. Oh yeah, I just stopped the streak (I told you to put some pants on) and the NPN league wins again.

Ultra Sonic vs. REB
1-2-3 REB WINS again. REB beat down the hapless gear shifters 97-53. Not scoring over 60 points is bad mmmmkay? Reb's mvp was Brett Favre with 23 points. Can green bay keep on putting up offensive points with seemingly every member of their offense going down in a big steaming heap of crap? REB hopes so as he has Brett Favre. Ultra Sonic stripped all of his gears and let down the NPN with this pathetic performance. Pay-a-ton is biting his butt as well. OM wins again.....

Richy vs. Delaware
Richy goes 2-0 this week in a 104-67 victory over the great state of Delaware. MVP of this game goes to Clinton Portis with 32 points. Delaware is an LT2 owner and when you base your whole team around LT scoring 25 points, and he doesn't you are going to have these types of weeks. Terry Glenn could be running down on mojo as well, as he hasn't scored more than 10 points in 2 weeks now after exploding earlier in the year. The NPN league wins to stop the bleeding. What is that? 7 now for the NPN league, apparently my math was off, but that's not unusual.

Sassy vs. Suto
Cat fight alert, cat fight alert...........Sassy puts up little effort and gets stripped neeked in a 73-55 victory. I said it before and I'll say it again, no team gets an MVP when you don't score over 80 points. In a battle of who sucked more, Sassy just couldn't do it without LT2 helping her out a little. 55 points has to be disappointing, but again, Suto will take the W and run iwth it. When your whole team is ailin', any kind of victory is a good thing. Got to hate having to start the pot-smoker Ricky as well.........d'oh!!!
Oh well, good week this week folks.....sorry these ramblings were late.....till we meet again next week.......

Man, this schedule is brutal.

Now I've got REB, who's got the 3rd highest scoring team in the whole OM/NPN league and who is seriously overdue for a little luck in the win/loss department - - and Beezlebub who has my version of Terrell Owens outflanked by Terrell Owens AND McNabb. The better Terrell does, the worse I lose. How's that for being in a fix?

It's a miracle I've hung as close to B-Man for as long as I have, especially after he wiped me out on opening day, but at least I'm in good shape for a wild card berth.

I agree. The only time I've ever had the flu was when I got the flu shot.

I might not have you told you this, but the wife is going to Thailand for two weeks in November. She was thinking about getting a flu shot because of the avian flu thing that is popping up down there, but apparently the flu shot has no affect on it and it wouldn't take affect in time anyway if it did.

freakin Deuce McAllister going down,...

That had to hurt. I thought he was on his way to a great season.

I remember watching a "game of the week" show on the all-NFL-access channel that featured the Saints/Panthers game early on, and they had a mike set up by the Saints coaching staff. They kept telling the players that they were going to run, run, run and run some more. This was early in the game. I think the running game was going to be the spearhead of that whole attack all season.

Then that stupid injury late in the Green Bay blow out ...

The guys who had Javon Walker should get some sympathy too. It's just like last year in Green Bay where Favre has to put it in the air over and over. Just imagine the kinds of stats Javon could be putting up!

Get the shot! Could be the difference in seeing her get sick to the point it hurts you or (w/o the shot) the point she has serious complications. True enough, you can still get sick, but little ones can't fight it like we can... especially if she isn't breast feeding and getting Mama's immunities. Our kids Doc ordered 4000 shots, only 170 have come in so we're on the wait list... the day those shots come in we'll be taking our kiddos in for them! Don't chance it on the kids.

Ah.

Well, I just feel privileged to even be in this division with you guys. With Sideburn too. He's had some rough luck, but there's enough talent on his squad to make a big splash - - especially if Culpepper has things turned around. I think he has Dillon, too. New England has a nice schedule coming up, and he's going to rage all over people. Plus first class receivers and a very solid D. I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see the Evil Head Brigade go on a major winning streak. The only question is whether he runs out of time.

So with that...I'm offering Jamal Lewis and Heath Miller to those that need TE help.

In the past three games Miller has 166 receiving yards and three TD's. And with this league giving 3 points for 50 yards receiving for TE's that's HUGE!!!. He is averaging 14 POINTS A GAME!!!!

Wow...I seriously can't believe he was available. That's robbery.

LMAO!

I'm not sure how I keep winning either...... My highest rusher last week was Ronnie Brown....a draft afterthought. My starting WR's are both living on prayers...the detroit defense was a bye week need....Carson Palmer is the only real constant, and this league has made the QB less of an impact than a freaking LONG DISTANCE KICKER. Christ!! I should have drafted Neil Rackers in the first round instead of Julius Jones.

The thing that bothers me is that the Freaking Redskins score 52 points...and they have 6 TD's and not a single one went to my TE...

On paper before this season started I would say that Sin City was getting the deal of the century. But when you consider the struggles of Cpep and Rudi I think it's pretty even. I've offered trades to SB for CPep and Rudi as well. The talent is there, they just have to turn it on. Right now I think this is a very even trade... good on you guys for finding a way to make that BIG BLOCKBUSTER!!! I've always thought that trading is what makes fantasy football so fun. True... but so far they haven't. And, he just traded for a QB with a tough closeout and he traded a RB that has one of the easiest closeouts of all teams. Rudi's isn't bad, but Lewis seems content giving Perry a bunch of touches!

Obviously since I'm in the same division as OD I hope that Culpepper continues to flop and Rudi continues to give up touches to Perry!

FWIW, I think the trade gives me slight upgrades at the bottom of the order, but defenses and kickers are always hard to predict. There's certainly nothing wrong with Scobee and the Bengals are pretty good at generating turnovers when they have the lead, so I don't think Sideburn loses much. The Steelers haven't quite lived up to their fantasy billing this year, but they'd mostly be a backup for me anyway, because right now the Bears D is red hot.

It's almost impossible to evaluate Rudi Johnson vs. Mike Anderson. The problem is that no one knows, from week to week, which Bronco back is going to have the hot hand. Mike is still getting his points, though. Rudi is in a "scoring" slump, and Perry is getting more of his carries. But I do remember last year when I traded away Rudi to Shack late in the season, and Rudi just went wild. So, yeah, I'm gambling he can do it again. If not, Holmes & Barber are still pretty good backs for me, and Droughns, much like Rudi, just keeps plugging along. Meanwhile, Sideburn doesn't have to wait for Rudi to get things going. Anderson is doing pretty well right here and now, and Sideburn needs some fast results.

Owens is a scoring machine. I took a loss here, but Fitzgerald has been very good, and at least I won't have to put up with that endless soap opera crap anymore. Sideburn comes out ahead here. But who knows what happens if McNabb goes down. The hernia may not get him, but if you throw the ball 50 times a week, you're going to take some hits.

And like I said, Owens is an A-hole.

Delhomme is more stable than Culpepper, and he's certainly on a more stable team. But I don't see a lot to choose between Brooks & Delhomme most weeks. So C-Pep would basically be a backup "investment" for me. If he turns it around - - fantastic. If not, I'd probably be rolling the dice with Brooks anyway.

Meanwhile, Sideburn doesn't have to deal with the risk that C-Pep will tank it horribly on any given week. Delhomme won't put up huge numbers, but he's been pretty consistent over the past few weeks. Sideburn has enough other quality guys on his roster to win consistently, if C-Pep isn't around to stab him in the back. And right now he can't afford erratic performances, because one or two more losses and he's out of it. It should work pretty well for him in this double-header week, because Jake gets to go against a fairly porous Minnesota D, while C-Pep has to throw against the Panthers.

Overall, I think the trade has both bigger risks, but also potentially bigger payoffs for me. But, due to some of the close and lucky wins I've had, I can afford to take those kinds of risks, while poor Sideburn has no remaining margin for error.

Old Dude
10-27-2005, 03:05 PM

And right now he can't afford erratic performances, because one or two more losses and he's out of it. It should work pretty well for him in this double-header week, because Jake gets to go against a fairly porous Minnesota D, while C-Pep has to throw against the Panthers.

Overall, I think the trade has both bigger risks, but also potentially bigger payoffs for me. But, due to some of the close and lucky wins I've had, I can afford to take those kinds of risks, while poor Sideburn has no remaining margin for error.

This pretty much sums it up for me. I have the Skins D so I'm not worried about losing the Steelers, especially since they've been pouress this year in some games...Losing Vinitieri doesn't really bother me, as he hasn't brought in big points anyways this year. My Culpecker nightmare is over, I truly hope he does well for you, he was a disaster for me this year. I've pretty much resigned to the fact that my season is over, but the earlier trade with Bman was what pushed this trade through. I know Rudi could go off, but he hasn't, this year, and like you said, I can't keep waiting. It's been a bad year for fantasy for me this year, and I'm a tatum homer. So getting MA insures that Bell will turn into a superstud and take all the carries because MA is going to start fumbling like Tiki 3 years ago. That's right, I'm taking one for Tatum...he owes me money now.

Here's the lineup for this week

Delhomme, Jake CAR QB
Anderson, Mike DEN RB
Brown, Chris TEN RB
Pittman, Michael TBB RB
Galloway, Joey TBB WR
Owens, Terrell PHI WR
Wiggins, Jermaine MIN TE
Scobee, Josh JAC PK
Redskins, Washington WAS Def

If my new bucs go off on the niners I could have a big week. Other than that, it's probably par for the course.

So what are the BSoJTH offering these days? Let me guess, you'll give up a 3rd string QB for a #1 or borderline #2 RB... am I close? ;D

Jamal, Kennison, and Brooks for TO, LT, and Manning.

Based on the above deal that Bman claims this would be good.

Okay so Bman is drinking again.

That isn't the real trade.

I retract my comments except for Bman being a retard.

Quit drinking dude.

So when this all shakes out, you'd be able to field:

Eli Manning
Edge
Dunn
Lamont
Harrison
Moss
Clark (or the Seattle dude)
Wilkins
Colts or Ravens D.

Looks pretty nasty, B-Man!
