Something is messed up. The rules said QBs lose 1 pt for each sack, but the scoring doesn't reflect that.

Hopefully the scoring has been changed. The MyFFL software was having some issues today. It should reflect the real scores shortly I hope.
The live scoring problem was all over ESPN, FFLToolbox and MYFFL leagues today. Hopefully this will not be a reoccuring problem or I'll be on the phone with their techs ready to kick ass....

Sorry again for the trouble folks... Shacky and I tested the scoring on the site but I and I alone am solely to blame for the running back bonus, and QB sack error as I somehow overlooked it all week. Hopefully, next week will run much smoother!

Well, I was finally able to access the front page and catch up with everything.
I don't understand the deal about QB sacks, though.
At the time we drafted, the league scoring rules clearly said that QBs would lose 1 point for each sack sustained. That's one of the reasons I put off drafting a QB until the 8th round. (Because it tended to reduce QB scoring as a whole and level off the crowd.) So far as I can tell, that rule was still in effect when the games started, because the live scoring was showing the deductions for sacks, ... but next thing I know, the scoring rules change? When did this happen? When was the decision made?
Did I miss an announcement?
Obviously, it burns me that I went against Bulger, who got sacked 6 or 7 times, while Delhomme only got nailed once. Though I've probably already lost this week, it just doesn't seem fair to change scoring rules after the draft and after the games have started.

I can't ever get into the site. It won't load. I had the same problem with ESPN's site but I expect that from a site with the amount of people playing on that site. My CBS/NFL.com worked perfect, well except a few times during the day. Its 8:30 in the morning and I still can't get a page to load on our site. Is it not working for everyone or is it just me?

Again, the scoring bonuses for running backs was an oversight that I missed (I apologize profusely for missing that), but the QB sacks should never have been in there from the start. This league has the exact same rules as previous years and I'm still uncertain how the sacks were even listed since the entire scoring system was imported directly from Sportsline. Sorry about that confusion.
Like I was telling another commissioner last night, the problem with switching to a new site sometimes can be a cumbersome and trying process, especially with 24 teams in tow. But, once we get the kinks smoothed out after the initial week, we should run far smoother ^5
I've been in contact with MYFFL this morning trying to find out why the site was so slow in running live scoring yesterday, but, they have been overwhelmed with the same type of questions all day so I suspect it could be a few hours til we here back from them.
By the way, DBroncos and Rascal, I had no trouble accessing the league's homepage this morning. Are you still having issues?

...
So the intention was always to keep the scoring exactly the same as it was in the previous leagues?
I didn't realize that, because we obviously have one huge difference from last year's rules - - which is that passing TDs are only worth 4. I figured the -1 for sacks was just another aspect of toning down the QBs.
Oh well, consider my protest filed and rejected. I'm not going to prolong the misery by bellyaching about it.

Hate to do it (enjoy it actually Ha!) but my bench has 70 points right now. I still have 2 players to go as well! (Geek league)
In the Mane league I had a horrible start and now I've lost my #1 WR for the season. Looks like I'll be rolling with Tatum as my flex player now. DJackson and Kennison/Galloway will be my starting WR's! That sucks. Kevin Jones is going to have to do better than 8 pts per game too. I was counting on 15 from him... not too much to ask either! 90 yards and a touch...comeon!

I think my bench outscored my starters in every league.
You can't do much when Alexander, Martin, Jamal, and other stud RB's give you less then 10 points and your QB's (green, Favre, Delhomme) don't give you more then 10 points. LT had 13 points....HELLO!!!!! Seemed like all my players decided to have their sucky ass game all at once (in all leagues).
I wouldn't be so pissed if the Broncos had won...but throw the two together and it really sucks.

I will say that it kind of sucks giving up both Lee Evans and Jimmy Smith in the trade that brought back Walker..... I was talking to Philly the other night and was planning on using him in part of a trade... though it wsa a little later in the season. Don't worry about me though. If nothing else, its a good stat for us to humiliate each other Ha! The way waivers is determined is
#1 - Overall Winning Percentage
#2 - Head To Head Record
#3 - Total Points Scored
#4 - Conference Winning Percentage
#5 - Divisional Winning Percentage
#6 - Power Rank
#7 - (if it ever comes this far) Reverse Order of Opponents Total Points scored
All "Waiver Sort Criteria" displayed above are applied in a "worst-to-first" manner.

From Shack's ramblings:
MT v Sassy......MVP of this game was Bastards sonsofad’oh for trading Willie Parker to MT and his 29 points (pay attention Pezzy, this is how you start a RB). Oh yeah, let’s not forget trading Jimmy Smith and his 28 points to her as well. Here we thought rascal laid the pipe down on her with this trade, but alas, it was her that donned the strap-on and gave it to good ole’ rascal.
Slobberknockers vs. Bastards sonsofad’oh!
Slobber “beats” the Bastards 65-54. Now, when I say beat, I don’t mean in the literal sense you expect a victor to come out on top, but I mean beat in the sense that someone had to win the game. This low scoring affair was like watching 2 no armed, no legged men try to beat each other to death, all it was, was a lot of shouting, swearing, sweating and rolling on each other and slobber winning by sheer determination. The MVP of this game is Jeff Wilkins again with 19 points….again a kicker, all I can do is shake my head and wonder what has happened to our fantasy game when a kicker scores more points than Daunte Culpepper (which coincidentally, Slobber had as well) sonsofad’oh, let’s count how many points you traded away this weekend. Larry Fitzgerald (24) Willie Parker (29) and Jimmy Smith (28). Apparently rascal is a giving individual who prefers to help others instead of himself. Hey rascal, it ain’t Christmas ya moron, so quit giving your boys away for free!!! Apparently I hear Jamal Lewis is available for a 12 pack of Keystone Light and a used condom, hurry, supplies are limited

Evil givers of Head vs. Philly
Philly beats his Head 121-89. Philly literally maxed out his potential, 100%, he could not of scored any better, of course with bench players such as Antowain Smith, Bill Volek, Ciatrick Faison and Travis Henry, it’s no wonder he maxed out at 100%. I’m not saying Philly isn’t deep, I’m just saying, I have talked to 6 year olds with more depth to them. MVP goes to Jimmy Smith, he along with Keenan tried to relive their glory days with the Jagwads, 2 TDs for Jimmy Smith as well to give him 28 points? Wow, here is to 40 year old legs, or however hold he is. The Head got zero points from Daunte Culpepper…..let me restate the for effect…..Z-E-R-O points. Daunte scored as much as me this weekend, and I was sitting on the couch doing nothing. The evil head brigade is getting their paybacks from last year, I mean he did sell his soul, the devil only gives you one year Sideburn, not two. So, I'm at a loss of what to do already. There are multiple avenues that my flex could go this week.
Do I go with Ronnie Brown and the Surprisingly efficient Dolphins offense against the Jets. Larry Johnson and Priest Holmes ran roughshod all over them this last week, plus the Jets offense sputtered worse than ours, and pennington provided quite a number of TO's. This would make for more potential scoring opportunities....or
Do I go with TJ Duckett and the goal line opportunities therein. With the inability of the Seachickens to sustain drives, coupled with a playmaking defense, the potential for many Scoring opportunitieas again arises.....or
Do I go with Larry (Diapers) Johnson and the KC offensive line. Scoring doesn't look as good with him because of Priest Holmes, until you factor in that their playing the Chokeland offense. Since their Defense is non-existant, I won't even compare them to KC's offense. The potential for a 100 yard game plus multiple TDs is very compelling, but you have to factor in the Holmes quotient...or
Stay with Fred Taylor. The Jags play the Colts tough, and they will be playing ball control offense. Taylor looked great last week, and showed no ill effects from playing his first extensive action. Factor in that the Colts defense played the Ravens offense last week, and you can't help to think they probably aren't as good as they looked. Greg Jones doesn't look like he'll be vulturing Goal Line carries yet( I hope)....
I won't talk about my WR core, pathetic I know, so we know I won't be flexing with them....
Damn Choices... I know whichever of the four are all going for 100+ and 2+ TD's this week....damn them!

Broncoman13

I've got similar problems!!!
Of these folks I have to pick 2 RB's, 2 WR's, and 1 WR/RB for a flex. I think I'll go 3 RB's and 2 WR's.
Willis McGahee, Kevin Jones, Willie Parker, Larry Johnson, TJ Duckett at RB.
Anquin Boldin, Derrick Mason, Lee Evans, Brandon Lloyd, Frisman Jackson, and Greg Lewis at WR.
As of right now I'm going with Kevin Jones, Willis McGahee, and Willie Parker at RB and Flex. Boldin and Mason at WR.
That should give me about 70 points with those 5. My RB's have tough match-ups, except for Willie Parker. I figure he'll end up with 20, Jones with 12-15, McGahee with 12-15. Both WR's should be good for right around 10. That should leave me sitting pretty w/ Bulger at QB 18 pts. Tony Gonzalez at TE 14 pts this week! And, the Bears D going up against the Lions... I'd say they get right around 8 points. Vanderjagt is my kicker and I'm guessing he'll go for about 10 pts vs the Jags. 3 xp's, 2 FG's one of which will be from 40+ out. That should put me up around 120 pts for the week...that *should* be enough for a win!
In other news, everytime I look at Philly's lineup in the OM league I want to puke!!! Dunn, Jimmy Smith, Tony Gonzalez.... They were all mine!!! All I have to show for those guys is Mark Bulger and an injured Dallas Clark. I got DeShaun Foster in the deal but dealt him for Tatum Bell. If Tatum winds up the starter I'll be able to compete with him, but Denver has to get stronger running the ball! I think I'm going to leave Tatum in the line-up this week. I think the Broncos are showing a little "Gamesmenship" by saying MA is now probable. I think he'll be available but I think Tatum gets the majority of the work! HE STAYS IN MY STARTING LINEUP!!!

Not good when you have more points on your bench then as your starters. That's twice I've lost a game because I suck at choosing who to start.
All well the talent is there I just need to remove my head from my ass.
Of course Jamal and McGahee giving me 4 points isn't going to help. Ouch.
Yeah it looks like I just squeaked by this week by 4 pts. I'm glad I started Favre this week. That makes me 2-0! :charge:

Thats fine, however, DJax isn't worth a stud TE and #1 WR. Especially with Arizona not able to mount an effective ground game, they will be tossing the pig alot.
Of course its still too early to define the season for fantasy, however, if you'd held off a couple of weeks you could've gotten a lot more value than Nate Burleson with just Willie Parker. His value is soaring right now, and people who need backs would give up a lot for him.
You still have a good team with good depth, it just looks like your early season moves aren't paying off.

True, it is early, and if things sort themselves out, we probably won't see Jimmy Smith or Keenen McCardell go off like they did in week 1. Nice thing about being a rookie OManer/NPN league guy is that no one can talk about some of the more lopsided trades I've done.
Last year, I traded Gates, Kevin Jones, and Willis McGahee for Priest Holmes. This was week 6, and I figured Gates would be revealed as a fantasy bust in the 2nd half as San Diego took their annual swoon. Kevin Jones hadn't shown anything, and McGahee was still splitting carries with Henry.
Holmes gave me a couple good games including 4 of the 8 TDs they got on atlanta, but after that....ick..ugh...ugly.
Thank god, I had a team to build around....
I had J. Jones, Larry Johnson, Dominic Davis, Steven Jackson all on the bench...they carried me to the Championship and secured my victory...
I learned a good lesson...don't trade like an idiot again.

Before Culpecker had a rushing td in garbage time, he had brought me in -7 points on the day. I refuse to give him up yet though. With Cmart looking like he's hurt, and Dayne starting to get carries in broncoland, my team may actually start doing something. I've had a tough road thus far. My runningbacks played tough defenses, and of course, Culpecker is costing me points. I really really really hate the scoring format this year. Penalized to much for things. I could see 1 point lost for an Int, but 2? Add that with 2 points lost on fumbles aswell...sigh. Did you guys want low scoring games?

I honestly don't even want to post on this thread..... Fine, I'll admit it, losing Javon Walker really farks my season!!! Kevin Jones can't pull his head out of his ass either.... Freaking Tatum Bell is nowhere to be found and I'm messing up by not starting the freaking Colts D over the Ravens D!!! The Ravens were playing the Titans for crying out loud.
Anyhow, all is not lost. I didn't get beat by much and I'm 1-1 so I'm still better off than some people! :D

Michael Bennett, RB MIN
News: According to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, Vikings RB Michael Bennett's name has been mentioned in trade talks with the Arizona Cardinals. Bennett was originally drafted by Dennis Green in 2001 when he was with the Vikes.
Analysis: Bennett could thrive in Arizona, especially since his best years were with Green. If you have Bennett in your league, put the brakes on cutting him and wait out this situation. He could be sat down in Week 3 if the Vikings have a deal in place, but as of now is considered the starter for the game vs. New Orleans.

Vikings | Bennett to Arizona not likely
Fri, 23 Sep 2005 07:59:22 -0700
Sean Jensen, of the Pioneer Press, reports trade discussions between the Minnesota Vikings and Arizona Cardinals regarding RB Michael Bennett were initiated by the Vikings, Cardinals' vice president of football operations, Rod Graves, told the East Valley Tribune. Neither team, however, expects a deal. "I can't do anything about it," Bennett said. "I can just do my job, and if it's for me to get shipped out of here, then it's out of my hands."
Vikings | Moore Could Make First 2005 Start
Fri, 23 Sep 2005 07:55:28 -0700
Sean Jensen, of the Pioneer Press, reports if practices Wednesday, Sept. 21 and Thursday, Sept. 22 are any indication, Minnesota Vikings RB Mewelde Moore will start for the first time this season. He took the bulk of the carries during workouts on both days. Moore said he was unsure whether he would be the featured back against the Saints. But he said: "In my mind, I'm always a starter. So I always prepare that way. Whether I do or don't (start), I'll be ready." Vikings head coach Mike Tice has been mum on his running back plans.
Michael Bennett - RB - Vikings
RB Michael Bennett said yesterday that he won't let trade rumors bother him.
''It is a distraction,'' Bennett said. ''But I won't let it bother me. I can't do anything about it. I can just do my job, and if I get shipped out of here, then it's out of my hands.'' Sep. 23 - 9:29 am et

Michael Bennett - RB - Vikings
Michael Bennett hasn't talked to his agent about the trade rumors surrounding him.
The Vikings probably couldn't get anything more than a fourth or fifth round pick for Bennett. The lame duck front office and coaching staff probably don't want Mewelde Moore and Ciatrick as their only every-down options. Sep. 22 - 8:39 pm et

Looks like there are still a few games on the line tonight.
Pez has a 9-point lead and Kasay, going up against Sutoazul who still has the GB defense on tap. (Suto probably regrets sitting the Falcons D, which would have scored 23.)
Garcia has a 16 point lead over Delaware, but Delaware still has Longwell on tap.
Mantooth, with a 7-point lead and the Panthers D looks like a winner over EHB, unless the GB offense drives the Panther D deep into negative numbers.
Philly’s got a huge 72 point lead over REB, but REB still has Favre, Driver, Davis & Smith to play. He needs to get an average of 18 points each out of all 4 of them.
NU Red trails Sassy by 2, but still has Delhomme on tap.
Karlis looks to be in good shape over Crunch, with a 34-point lead and Steve Smith vs. Kasay.
Shack wins unless Davis fumbles 27 times.
Mock has MT pretty well wrapped up, leading by 35 with Foster going against Longwell.
Ultra-Sonik leads the Bastard Sons by 18, and has A. Green yet to play, but the Bastards could still pull it out if Favre and the Carolina defense both score a bunch. (Hard to see how they could both be real successful at the same time though.)
If things hold up, Ultra-Sonik might wind up as the only undefeated team after just 4 weeks.

It seems like a pretty typical scoring system to me. Nothing bugs me, but I made an observation. The defenses are penalized more for yardage than points. Rarely does a defense lose points from allowed points (I think 41+), but a defense will lose points for allowed yardage more frequently.

Hmm, good stuff Bosko and Shacky.
This year, we used the modified Zealots and Performance combination for the league scoring. It was very similar to last year's scoring with the exception of the defense, which I agree, appears to be overweight. I do think that 4 points for a QB td was a good move as it lowered the weight of their impact enough to bring the elite QB's back down to earth slightly.
One thing that I wonder, is if we should try something more performance based in the future, at least for wideouts and TE's. Something that rewards for a certain number of catches? Thoughts?

I agree with the defense being to much of an importance. I mean the Colts D putting up 33 freaking points? That's a bit much...no way should a defense lead to that many points.
I honestly don't know how I feel about PPR leagues I've had good and bad experiences with both. I think if we fix the defensive scoring system then that would solve a lot of problems.

Actually, the defensive scoring is pretty much the same as last year, except that last year defenses got a +1 point bonus if they got three or more sacks. They don't get that anymore.
As I recall, the Seahawks had a couple huge 30-point games early in the season (before things fell apart). And I know that the Ravens had a couple games in the high 20's.
The Colt's performance on Sunday was really exceptional from a defensive scoring standpoint: 5 sacks, 5 defensive takeaways, 1 defensive TD, less than 200 yards and only 3 points allowed. That is not something that going to happen every week.
I think the reason that fantasy scoring is a little lower this year has very little to do with the system. The only real difference is that QBs are gettin 4 per TD pass instead of 6. If you assume that your QB is going to throw about 2 TDs per game (which is a lot, actually), that's only costing 4 points per game.
The bigger issue is that offenses in Houston, Indianapolis and Minnesota are not compiling yards or scoring anywhere close to what they did last year. Also, there are a bunch of teams that have gone to RBBC and are splitting carries between their backs.

Guess who's finally starting to come alive!!!
Kevin Jones is starting to get on track now as well. Please don't look at his schedule now...all of you will feel bad for not trading for him!
As for everybody that's crying about the Defenses. Go take a look at the Geek League thread. Top defenses routinely score 20 points. Top kickers routinely go over 10 points. With the way this league scores mid level kickers can cost you points. It makes sense to go after a kicker earlier... That's exactly why I went after kickers that kick indoors for the most part. The last thing I want is a kicker COSTING me points!
Defense scoring in this league is actually down! Punt returns/Kick returns don't score points for you!!! Find a normal league and see what 5 turnovers, 5 sacks, a D TD, 3 points allowed and 200 yards of offens would score. I bet in the mid to upper 20's at least. Last but not least, take a look at the Colts D. Somebody said the Colts wouldn't do that EVERY game... true enough, they've been avg/ 15 per game and haven't played a really good offense yet. This week they have the Rams. I should bench them huh!!! Yeah right. Bulger throws a lot of picks and gets sacked as much as David Carr! If anything, I'm finding another QB to start!!!

That is a strange bug that the Myffl site has when viewing the waivers under the standings order.
It is however, not indicative of the real waiver order though. The waiver order does follow suit with the standings. For example, I'm currently 5th in the waivers order this week but the standings page has me indicated differently.
That is one problem I'm trying to fix with MYFFL but I think it might be a bug since we have two seperate conferences and the software might not be able to process it correctly on the standings page.

That would assume he was going to worth more then a piece of crap to begin with.

Is there an easy way to see the player matrix in your conference? I'm having a hell of a time trying to navigate my way to view rosters of other teams...

Very top of the page the second option on the left, hold your mouse over it and I think the second option available is view rosters or something.

ugh!~ again, that is also a complaint of mine with the site. Its very cumbersome to navigate through stats, free agents etc. I tell ya, as cool as some of the features are on Myffl.com, I really wish they would spend some better time and effort on their front end stuff (the type of controls that we cannot modify)

Hey Shacky... I think you have to give the Colts D the MVP for the week. 33 points by my D!!! To think, I was seriously thinking about starting the Ravens D instead. Since they were playing the Lions I figured they'd be able to get a few turnovers from Joey. Glad I went with the Rookie led Niners offense playing the Colts D instead!
Also, if you look at my bench scoring. I left about 22 points on the bench! Pittman gave me 6 I think. Kevin Jones on my bench scored 17. Then the TE's that you mentioned with Stevens and Clark. I could have easily had a 180 point week! Not bad considering the injuries I've had to deal with! (D. Jackson, Javon Walker!) Thank goodness for waivers and free agents! Jurevicious did well!!!
Anybody think Tatum is going to take the starting job from MA anytime soon? If he does I'm sitting REAL pretty!
It's wierd, if you look at my OM team and then my Geek league team you would swear my Geek league team would be better. Not the case though! I do well to score 90 points in the Geek league. Rascal is going to tear me apart this week!

Yeah right.
I'll be lucky to get 40 this week. I have two healthy WR's in J Jurevicius and Kennison and one healthy RB in LT.

Just wanted to point out something ...
If you guys decide to do the interconference double-headers again next year, it would really make sense to schedule the games, as TJ suggested weeks ago, during non-bye weeks.
This week is a good example. I have Terrell Owens on a bye. My NPN opponent, NU Red, has no one on bye.
(Maybe he did a few weeks ago, before various trades were made, but he doesn't now.)
As a result, I have to face Moss & Holt this week without Owens to help offset that.
The point being that although you guys went through painstaking efforts to match up teams in terms of players and bye weeks and such, all that effort went for naught as soon as we had a handful of high profile trades.
Even though I've been screwed by this situation, I'm not upset, because I've gotten so ridiculously freaking lucky on so many other aspects of this season. But it is still a good reason why you should rethink the scheduling of interconference games next year.
We now return you to your regular program.

Well I like my matchup this week and next week, but week 8 looks like I could easily go 0-2.

I have two chances to get a win...I'm willing to bet that I can pull off a winless season.
