The Avs have signed Brad May.
Yup, the same Brad May who put a bounty on Steve Moore's head. The guy who's one of the targets of Moore's lawsuit.
Curiouser and curiouser.

He must be here to put a bounty on Bertuzzi. It's about the only explanation I can come up with for this one.
This is an absolutely bizarre move by the Avalanche.

Ha! I remember him in Buffalo as one of the three stooges (Rob Ray, Brad May & Matt Barnaby) Penality minutes went thru the roof.

On one hand, May is a much better fighter/player than Jim Cummins or Peter Worrell. On the other hand, he played an instrumental role in the whole Moore/Bertuzzi incident in March 2004.
I will give May one thing; Brad tried to fight Moore earlier on the same shift that Bertuzzi sucker punched Moore. May wouldn't fight Moore when Steve didn't drop the gloves and skated away after Moore didn't drop 'em. Bertuzzi, as we all know, has the brain of a moth and couldn't control his emotions.
I can deal with May being on the team, though I'm still not happy we don't have either Foppa or Foote.

Terry Frei said that the players on the team really don't support Moores court case. That what happens on the ice should stay on the ice.

What's going to be funny to watch is how the story will change in the pea-sized minds of Canchoke fans. Somehow the events of that night in Vancouver will somehow become all Brad May's fault.

I think this signing ought to put the whole Moore incident to rest, at least from a hockey standpoint.
Moore should carry on with his idea of what he can gain from pursuing his legal options, but I think the message from the Avs is pretty clear. Moore is on his own if he continues in that direction.
From my seat on the glass (yeah, I wish), Bert should be reinstated immediately.
