Bret Hart must have been offered a ton of green. Not only was there the "Survivor Series" incident when Vince took the belt off Bret after "promising" he wouldn't, but Bret still lays blame at Vince's feet for Owen Hart's death in 1999.

Why would somebody give a rats ass about a belt where the whole thing is staged?

He's not coming back to wrestle though is he? I went to WWE.com and all I could find was some agreement about the two sides making a DVD about the Hit Mans life.

I agree it's a little petty, but this is the story. He was on his way to WCW and knew he had to lose the belt. However, he didn't want to lose it in his home country of Canada. Supposedly, Vince agreed that they would wait until they get back to America before Hart loses the belt. That didn't happen.

I would think what happened to his brother pisses him off more then the belt thing.

This is some crazy news...I never thought I would ever see the Hitman standing next to (let alone shaking hands) with Vince...Bret Hart was my favorite wrestler when he was around...Glad to see that he's back in the mix of things...Hopefully he'll wrestle a few matches...although I havent watched the WWF for like 5 years...
The best there is, the best there was, and the best that ever will be....
is BACK!!!

He can't wrestle, he had a stroke and concussions. The deal is for the DVD set, just thought it was interesting.

Bret Hart was mine too, they did a house shwo in Cleveland back in 1991 and when he came out and ran down to the ring and he gave me the glasses, one of the best times of my life.
I still have them somewhere, 14 years does a lot to a person though.

Yeah...no more wrestling for Bret Hart. Although, if I was doing the booking, I might look towards a special appearance by Hart at THIS YEAR'S Survivor Series in November... :contract:

Thats a F'N awesome story dude...I always wanted to be a recipient of those glasses from him...I finally broke down and bought a pair from the Merchandise stand at one of their house shows in Fresno...Who the hell knows where they are now...Probably got lost in the move to LA...

I think the worst thing about getting those glasses, was when I went back to school and told all my friends about it, and none of them believed me. I was like,"Damn, the coolest thing happens to me and only my parents know what happened and know I'm telling the truth." I did compare my glasses to the replicas that a few of my friends had, and you can't tell a difference, they're the same glasses, but still I got mine from Bret Hart while they got theirs from some merchandise seller.
