Well Pacino here, Gradishar had it right the other day when he said that training camp is like a country club now, Shanny closed practice again today...they are using the bubble today...despite needing to practice for two games in Florida, Are they trying to dissappoint us?

The Disco Man just had a chat with Jim Armstrong on-air, Armstrong said "He is really suprised that the Broncos for closing practice, I don't understand why the fans can get wet but the players can't." Disco assured them that there are still a few DIE HARD'S in the lot!

Damn - sorry I missed the interview. I'm sure its not the rain that bothers them, its the possibility of a critical player pulling a hammy or something.

Are reporters still allowed in? If not Mastermind might be using the closed practice to work on stuff he does not want know as general knowledge...Just a thought.

Strange to have rain like this for camp. Usually its unbearably hot! It must be Shanny's fault ;D

True I would not want to see anyone get hurt either but they aren't even going at full speed the moment any one on D crosses the LOS they pull up and for the rest of them it's mostly touch football. I would like to think my favorite NFL team is a little tougher than my old high school team or for that matter my bantam league team I coach, hope noone fumbles in the rain this year in Jacksonville, we will have to remind Shanny about today. FAns are still showing up trying to get in.

I never want to contradict a TRUE HOF'er in Randy, but he played in an era when an injury to a star player would not ruin the whole season and Players did not Jump around so much in a little thing called Free Agency. Plus, off season Workout's included the 16 oz lifts at the favorite nightspot. Different ERA Gradishar.

Agreed no such thing as an off season any more .....alot of these playes stay in shape and working year around ......
Used to be Camp was to get Players in Shape , get the spare tire off .. now it seems Camp is a more refining of the skills , then getting into shape ........

Like the Government said to Indiana Jones when he handed over the Ark of the Covenant..."We have men working on it...Top men..." We need to hire Ollie North or Octopussy.

Alot of fans showed up in the rain after the Broncos said practice was on early this morning only to cancel it after they arrived.
What's a little rain? I don't want to hear any bs about injuries. They can happen anytime. I can understand if it was a thunder storm but it was only a drizzle. Infact it almost stopped by 9:00am.
Am I the only one that thinks this team should be able to handle a little weather during a practice?

Considering the egg they laid at home against Oakland in the snow last year, I would say that's a big 10-4. If you would of told me that a California team would go a mile high on the road in the snow and make us look like wimps, I would of said you were crazy. WTF was that?

Your loss.
Back on the HWY, I concur with being out in the weather for practice...how else will they be able to prepare for it?

Well, you drive thru Nebraska sometime. When you stop at a gas station, it's either some wicked person all bitter, or some BabyDoe with eyes that say: "Please kidnap me so I can escape this hellhole."
Iowa isn't Shangrila, but it's not Nebraska, and I'm in the Okoboji area. Rediculous winters tho. I have no clue how Sassy handles N. Dakota. Things just didn't work out for the Oakland game. I paid my ticket, and there were tons of no shows, yet alone I drive alone thru a blizzard thru Nebraska. Yeah, Jake would make the trip from Albequeque? but at least that's a senic drive, even if it's rather taxing to drive in the mountains. What ever happened to Jake anyway? I haven't heard anything from him for months! I think he was in Greeley at the Mitsubishi Dealership.
Meck says there is a ticket for me on house, but I can pay, my cousin has club seats, but it's the freaking drive. It's a 24 hour round trip drive.

Considering it was a wet snowstorm and the stadium was half empty, and we lost to Oakland, honestly, I'm not upset at all I passed on the road trip. Besides, I had invited Taco, and he couldn't make it. If you have ever driven thru Nebraska on I-80, then 76, you know what I mean. It could put someone on Meth to sleep. (Half the people in Nebraska are on meth anyway)

Different ERA Gradishar.I don't think Randy was trying say that they were a tougher bunch just that with all the NFLPA rules and they way camp is structured these days, light workouts, the coddling of some of the superstars, it's much different, I also understand that after every practice now players sit around and break down film for 3 hours, I doubt that they did that in the old days.

Nope, never been to Nebraska...but still, after seeing the pics of the tailgate w/ Pez, Rudi, Smillin' et al.....it looked like a blast to be at in spite of the result of the game.
The OF1 Crew were really looking forward to being in the presence of the Mockish One as well.....Taco's coming in for the KC MNF game along with a bunch of others...c'mon out!

Believe me, it wasnt as cold as it seemed until we lost ;D
Meck's awesome F U Al barbequed pig kept me warm and comfy for the duration.
If the damn team can play in those conditions, surely a little moisture today shouldnt be too much of a problem.
Is it still raining in Denver btw guys?

No it stopped a couple hours ago. I'm about 20 min from Dove Valley though. It's still real cloudy though.
I guess the clouds aren't enough to cancel practice again. ;D
BTW pez that pig was pretty good but we have a Carne Asada recipe that will blow your mind!
We didn't competely waste our time at camp though. We have a system in place now to set up a tailgate in 15 minutes. Same for the breakdown. We are a refined tailgating crew.
It's weird we set up yesterday and we were all pacing around looking for **** to do...lmfao We're so use to working, hanging stuff, fixing stuff, tweaking the bus etc.
Nothing much left to do but change music, flip meat, and relax at the tailgates now!

I've got an idea Meck. We could get a projector and show the team video of the '84 blizzard against Green Bay and it would make today's little rainstorm seem like nothing ;)
Better yet, start roasting that pig in front of the facility and promise to share with them if they are good boys and do practice Ha!
Mock have you been able to attend other Broncos games?
I've only managed a few myself and I don/t think I'll get to any this season either, well maybe a playoff game.
