Check out the reports of Will Shields considering packing it in...

I am sure Priest has been talked out retiring again this year too...

Anyone with enough sense to quit the Broncos is welcome at Chiefs camp.

Damn, why do the quitters always go over to the Chorfs?

Nevermind, that was just a dumb question altogether.

Cause they'll land starting gigs?

Yeah. Might as well hang out a sign. All slackers welcome here. C'mon in. Bring Dickie a tissue for the introductions.

Must be something in the water in Lincoln.

He saw that Myers was going to leapfrog him. Even when Nalen goes, He's got Hamilton and Myers still in front of him. He probably thought he wouldn't make the roster and he was probably right. He's still a yellow coward traitor tho. Go suck on Eddies Balls.

Maybe he wasn't being hugged enough.

I'm sure Donk fans are going to enjoy watching Kennison put up 200 yards and 3 TDs vs the Donks this year.

Not to sound prissy or anything, because I think ... injuries aside ... sewell had one more year, if that with Den, what with Clabo and Myers, BUT how can a guy quit one team in camp and sign with another like the next day?

With Quitterson, he tried to renege on the quitting, but the team as a whole said 'no.'

The Queefs probably bribed 'Swill' I mean Sewel to copy our playbook and bring it along for a job and a raise.

Yeah, that's just it. Seems like the queefs should not be allowed to do this. If a guy retires for personal reasons, fine. But I thought it was against the CBA to quit just to switch teams.

Its not true. Go look, because there is nothing about it anywhere.

Broncs put Sewell on their reserve list. He cannot sign with squaws or any other team until he is released.

hmmm, ok. But does the CBA prevent a guy from doing a bogus retirement. Kennison was ultimately fired. With Clemens in baseball, all indications were his retirement from the yanks was sincere, but when Petit went to Hou, he really did have an honest change of heart.

Clemens' retirement came when his contract was expired, hence his ability to go to Houston with no penalties. A player still under contract can't use retirement in any pro sports league to effectively change teams.

I didn't know clemens contract was up. I only follow baseball .... a little.

However, this thread confused me, as I don't see how the cba would provide for a player pulling this off. But, it did cause me to think, .... say Sewell does say, "my marriage makes me not want to play," get his release, and try to sign elsewhere. What would happen?

This is not legit... I thought it would lead to some fun smack talk and I was right. Sewel is a 5'11" center. I hope he goes to the Chiefs. The less losers we have on the team, the better. We should have known better then to draft a CornSucker.

I wouldn't be suprised if KC coaxed him out of retirement. Him, Eddie K and Jelly can lead the anti- Bronco contingent. :)

He is 6'2" and he isn't playing football again. As someone already pointed out Oline is bad on the hands and you can't have bad hands and work on peoples teeth.

I've broken almost every bone in my hands playing on the line so I agree with that statement completely.

And the whole statement was a joke. Lighten up. If he wants to go be a dentist, let him do it. I don't want people blockin on my team that have their heads elsewhere. More power to him. We don't need him anyways... unfortunately we wasted a draft pick on this guy. Couldn't he have decided this after college before we gave him a nice yearly salary and a very competitive roster spot? NU players just seem to be quitters. I'm not suprised.

Would you have been happier if he gave his two week notice? From the sounds of it he tried to let Mike know whats going on ahead of time as well.

I would have rather he not banked his safety net bank deposit of $300,000 before he skipped away on his merry way to dentist school. He was supposed to be an investment and he seemed to enjoy his half of that deal. He took his money and ran. He could have let his intentions be known before we wasted a year on him.
