Local fans were thrilled last year when the Broncos picked Bradlee Van Pelt in the 7th round of the draft. As expected, BVP spent his rookie year on the practice squad never suiting up for a regular season game. We still don't know if he can play in the NFL, but we do know Van Pelt definitely has "IT."
John Elway had "IT", so did Shannon Sharpe and Bill Romanowski. You can't see "IT" or touch "IT," you can only feel ''IT.''
When players with '"IT"' are on the field, fans can't take their eyes off them. We all got a taste of that from BVP in the preseason last year when he led the Broncos down the field and scored a touchdown against Arizona.
Bradlee has a star's personality. He's fun and always interesting to talk to. And he proved at C.S.U., he's at his best when the game is on the line.
But the question is, is he good enough to play in the NFL? If he is, he could become a superstar. If he isn't, he'll fade away. Having "IT" is great, but it isnt enough without the talent. Hopefully as training camp begins, BVP will prove he has both.

I think most of us are rooting for B.V.P.- I just feel he is a long shot to make the squad knowing Shanny's pension to only carry 2 Q.B. roster spots...

I'll believe IT when I see IT in a regular season game.

I already love this thread. It's just going to be a re-hash of the last 5 BVP threads.
"Give BVP a chance"
"NO! HE SUCKS! SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS!"
"College success does not translate into NFL success"
"He said he liked to grabass with cheerleaders! You can't like girls and be successful in the NFL!"
"WAAAAAAH! WHY ARE THERE 50 ARTICLES ABOUT BVP AND ONLY 49 ABOUT MATT MAUCK!"
etc.

You cant be solely focused on the cheerleaders asses when your supposed to be jotting down the plays and understanding why the coaches call what plays when and then get called out by your OC for doing so and get subsequently taken up to the booth because they dont trust you to be responsible on the sideline .....and be successful in the NFL.

It was a joke that he made in an interview and everybody (here at least) blew it way out of proportion.

Um, wha? Name me 10 fans outside of the Blammies program who gave a rats ass about this guy being drafted? :charge:
I think was more excited about the last turd I took than the Van Punk pick up.
But coming from Channel 7 and Steve Gotsagen, would I have expected any less

The bottom line......he needs action in a game that counts! I think he will be a good player(at this point all the CU fans hate me) he's got heart and wants to win. He might not have the same IT as Elway, he's got some of "it".

Where do you go from there?...I sat for 5 minutes and couldn't respond. I mean, how do you top BVD in the first place? The guy can't hit a barn. Next.

Elway was the number one pick in the draft. Im sure SOMEONE said he had it at some point that day. As for Sharpe, I don't know if you seen his brother play or not but yeah I thought he did.

hindsight is a wonderful thing. you saw his BROTHER play. thats his brother. not him. how many number one picks have busted? also, if the colts thought elway had "it" they would have stuck with him, yankees threat and all.

Those guys also had talent, something BVP doesn't have.
