The biggest stories in this camp will be the battles for the backup position. I'd say that a lot of the starting positions are already locked up.
The O is pretty much locked up. They are returning 10 starters, who should all start again. RG might be a question, but I'd say Carlisle has the inside track. MA was the starter on the first depth chart, but we all know Bell is going to be the starter.
On D it's just about figuring out the rotation on the D line. We have a good idea about the guys who will be in the rotation, we just don't know who'll be playing more. The back seven are set.
The big story looks to be if Rice can make the team. It's not a make or break position for the Broncos, so I don't see why these hacks keep on talking about it. Same with Dayne. To me Dayne is the biggest non-story on the team, but we hear his name a lot.
One point this writer made was that all these offseason moves have taken all the heat off of Plummer. I totally agree with that. We haven't seen too many Plummer threads over the past couple of months. Maybe that was "the plan". Sign a few big name guys who the team isn't counting on to make these hacks write about something else. Nobody will be talking about Plummer if Rice gets cut.
I know that isn't what the plan was really about, but it has gotten Plummer off the hook.

I'm psyched about this year's camp. There's so many directions we can go with the offense and defense. If Rice has ANYTHING left in the tank, he'll make Plummer look good. He has shown he can catch those difficult passes, and I'm hoping he shows that youngster Watts a thing or two.
The D-line is STACKED with potential playmakers. We just need to find the right combination of players to do the job.
The O-line still scares me, but I'm looking for improvements by Foster and company. There were times when Plummer was running for his life, and that needs to change.

Plummer was only sacked 15 times so our O-Line is pretty dang good, Lepsis and Foster especially did a good job last year. IMO Foster will be one of the best tackles in the game eventually.

I agree. The typical response is that "Well, Plummer avoided sacks with his feet." Facts be told QBs that move alot tend to get sacked more because they hang on to the ball longer. Hell, Elway was one of the most moblile QBs in history and by the way he is the most sacked QB in history. Even on the Superbowl teams he was sacked over 30 times. The Bronco Oline did a great job last year. They did a great job run blocking and they did a great job pass blocking sure they get overpowered at the point of attack somtimes but as a group they are one of the best units in the league.

Foster is exceptional when run-blocking in space. He tripped around out there in his early action, not knowing exactly where to be, but for a 300+ tackle the boy can float like a butterfly and sting like a bee. He continues to improve in space and it is really where I expect to see his quantum leap this season. Go George!

If only we could get somebody other then Carlise and this group would be a lot better.
