7. Jake Plummer, Denver
Pros: Passed for NFL's fourth-most yards (4,089) and seventh-most TDs (27). Also ran for fifth-most yards (202).
Cons: Threw the most interceptions (20) last season.
Draft Range: Picks 48-60
Injury History: Missed four games in '03 with shoulder and foot injury, two games in '00 and four games in '99.
Key Stat: Threw for at least 250 yards or two touchdowns in 11 games.
Two Words: Right Offense
Conclusion: Plummer is comfortable in Denver's system tailored with rollouts and quick passes. He plays despite injuries and is a legitimate fantasy threat leading this established offense under coach Mike Shanahan.

My only bummer here was with Vick being rated 4th. But as I thought about it, running touchdowns by a QB have special bonus in some leagues so may be he is valuable there. Yay for Plummer though...

Yep. you can't argue with those figures statistically, except maybe vick's. I hope Plummer rises into the top 3 this year

They're recommending drafting him in the fifth round, which is a good five rounds too high.

7th among QBs is too high. Id put him around 12 or so.

you wouldnt put Big Ben ahead of Plummer for fantasy purposes?

Wow. I disagree. I think they will both get a bunch of yards and TDs, but Jake will throw more picks. Ben will also benefit from the jump from year 1 to year 2. He will be hurt by the loss of Plexiglass though.

Steelers won't let Ben air it out every game. Ben will only have average fantasy stats at best.

Comp Att PCT YD Y/A TD INT | Att Yards TD
310 533 58.2 3886 7.3 29 15 | 25 71 1
303 521 58.2 4089 7.8 27 20 | 62 202 1

Why not Delhomme? He lost his number one wideout and had new starters at four spots on the offensive line. He still threw two more TDs than Plummer and had five fewer interceptions.

Carolina has the real Jake. We got the fake Jake.

Because I'm a homer to a certain extent and our Jake is going to have a better year than the Carolina fake. So there.....

I think Jake could be a gem of a backup QB on a FF team. He can produce somewhat, and he'll be available late. Nobody is going to take him in the 5th round or earlier, unless they're king of the homers.

If I was going to take any Broncos on my FF squad, they'd be Tatum or Ash. I'm even skeptical on Ash, but he makes big plays, gets into the endzone, etc... He might be another late round gem. I'd probably draft a great QB early, like a Manning, and take Tatum in round 2 or 3, because he'll probably fly under the radar a bit as well.

I'd be tempted to take our defense, but Turnovers are huge in FF, and we just don't get em.

Agreed. Rottenburger is headed for a sophmore slump and Griese isn't a franchise-type QB. Whether Plummer is remains to be seen, but his stats can't really be argued against....especially when the O-line was rebuilt last year, and he still repeated in getting his team to the post-season.

Manning
Brady

Green
McNabb
Roethlisburger

Here are the KFFL rankings from last year for QBs

1 P Manning
2 D Culpepper
3 D McNabb
5 B Favre
7 D Brees
8 J Delhomme
10 T Green
12 J Plummer

I think Manning stays on top, Culpepper drops a bit with no Moss, McNabb may not have T.O. around, Green will not do as well because of the loss of Morton and addition of Mitchel, Smith is coming off of an injury and no Muhammed for Delhomme this year and Brees still has to prove that he isn't a one year wonder. I will easily take Jake over Roethlisberger, Bulger, Delhomme, Griese, Pennington, and Palmer. Right now, with no T.O. in the fold, my rankings go this way:

1. Manning
2. Culpepper
3. McNabb
4. Favre (If Walker is around)
5. Plummer
6. Brees
7. Vick
8. K. Collins

Although I'm thinking about mioving Favre up. As far as Jake goes, all he has to do is stay more consistent and throw less picks. He has nice comtinuity from last year, Lelie and Watts have another year of experience, and the O-Line looks solid. I like Jake's chances.

Collins should be rated higher because he has a credible target in Moss. I'd flip flop Collins and Bulger and flip flop Roethsliberger and Green because the KC wide receiver corps is young. I'd put Plummer in between Delhomme and Griese. If Plummer cuts down on interceptions, he'll be a good FF pick. I would NEVER count Favre out, so he'll go just under Plummer. My list based on your list with my changes.

roethlisberger is WAY TOO HIGH. he wont even get enough attempts to be worthy of the #4 spot much less actually convert them all into tds and yards.

Great point here. And not only Moss, but Porter is a great WR, and he'll have single coverage from day 1.

Damn, I may take Collins as my QB, now that I think about it...

plummer was up and down last year. he really smacked some teams hard for great points and othertimes he threw lefthanded ints. I actually prefer consistant players like pennington, though pennington had a down year overall.

Yep, two people in my league.

Good luck drafting Jake Plummer (or some similar stiff) in round five. I'm sure you'll make your league's playoffs one of these years.

Jake is look at 25+ TDs this year with 2 or 3 running. I don't think Palmer, Greise, Roethlisburger will throw for more yards and TDs than Jake. I don't think Penningto will either.

Ben plays in Pittsburgh. He averaged a whopping 19 passes a game last year. Good Qb but he isn't going to throw for over 3,500 yards and 22 TDs

Well, 3 of the 4 were top 10 in Offense last year and the fourth was Oakland who picked up a ton of Offensive help in the offseason.

My list:

Manning (won't repeat last year but still a stud)
Culpepper (if your league only gives 4 points per TD passing, c-pep might be #1 due to his rushing skills)
McNabb (if TO leaves step away)
Bulger (they love to pass)
Green (solid)
Collins (a bit of question mark...but upside is impossible to ignore)
Farve (if walker leaves it will hurt but Farve has always performed and has switched from WR to WR as his favorite target on a regular basis) On this note I think Walker is overrated and Driver underrated.
Brooks (look at his stats not how many games he has won)
Brady (consistent but not flashy)
Plummer (assuming he stays a right handed QB)
Palmer (upside is there but needs more experience IMO to justify a higher ranking)
Vick (can he stay healthy and pass the ball)
Delhomme (how much will losing Mushin hurt?) And if Foster/Davis stay healthy they will run more then last year.
Pennington (Coles being back should help)
Hasselbeck (Koren isn't much of a loss, but not having anybody who can catch the ball does)
