Not just advertising stuff, but also personal home/apt addresses? How would one pursue doing that?

Pretty difficult to stop someone from finding your address if they want to. It is a public record in many places.

Yes, public records is all over the internet, lol.

I'm just wondering How can you stop a person from sending you stuff through the mail?

I'm not talking about E-Mail, but real mail, lol.

Well - if it is considered threatening or harassment, you can get a court order. Otherwise all you can do is ask the sender to stop.

I think I am on every mailing list in the Western Hemisphere. I always send the postage paid envelopes back as the company is required to pay the postage. In my more devious, younger days, I sent an entire box of old Playboys to a religious organization that was stupid enough to send a postage paid envelope. A friend claims to have glued them to bricks.

A gal I know who works for USPS told me you can refuse stuff that is addressed to you specifically - but if it says "or current resident" then you're SOL. I guess the junk mailers are fully aware of this loophole.
