Got it at King Supers for the same price as everywhere else, and no line. Well aside from a dude with produce.
I wasn't going to go late, but my Brother had a birthday and said this was his present. We both went to Barnes and Noble and it was a total Joke. HUGE line and these two ladies got into a push fight ring when we got there. After the fight we decided that anthing else happening while we waited was going to be anticlimactic, so we went to King Supers. I'm finishing another book so won't start this until tomorrow probably.
...So. Any fans lurking amongs the Bronco faithful?

I've got the first 5 and I'm getting the next one in a few days after the furor slows down.
My Girlfriend and I started them about 3 years ago, and they're awesome.

My 11 year old daughter is addicted. Bought the book about noon yesterday at the airport and she had 500 pages read before she went to bed. She has read all of the previous books multiple times.

I just finished reading Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (picked it up on Saturday) and I am as enthralled with the series as ever.
I'll be waiting impatiently for the 7th and final installment.

Finished the 6th book today and I'm pissed off that I read so fast. Lots of Harry Potter fans in my neighborhood... and none of them read nearly as fast as I do so I can't say a damned thing about it yet...

I got lucky that my mother reads as fast as I do, I got to discuss it with her over the phone yesterday.....well out of earshot of my wife who is in the process of reading it now.

I dig them. Haven't read past the first part of "the Goblet of Fire" cuz I just can't stomach all the Quiddich stuff. Reminds me of when I read "Goldfinger" in high school. Half the damn book was about golf. That's how I feel about "Goblet". Cut the Quiddich stuff short. Suffice to say I have not picked "Goblet" back up to finish it. Otherwise, I really like the titles I've read and the movies.

I've passed it off as kids stuff (and I still do). However, I'm amazed at the number of adults that like Harry Potter. One of these days, I might give it a try. I have a lot of catching up to do, though. I haven't even seen one Harry Potter movie.

I did the same thing for a while. My wife and mother raved about them but I didn't give it much thought. Then one day I picked up Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone to give it a look and I couldn't put it down. I knocked out the next two in no time flat and was left wanting more. I've been a big fan of the series ever since and have eagerly anticipated the release of each new book.

I bought it a couple days ago, but haven't had time to jump into it. I was one of those parents who read the first one, just to see what the hubub was about. I figure this one has to be good if it has the pope all up in arms. ROFL!

You can't do that GB, because now I'm expecting a bad ending. I've been waiting with baited breath for this book, and now I don't want to read it, thanks pal. ;)

**** Spoiler Warning ****
Ok, I've been finished for some time and I didn't have the negative reaction that almost everyone else had. Here's my take on the book and my predicitons.
I think Snape is still a good guy. Let me explain. I think Dumbledore and Snape went for broke. Dumbledore knew the only way that Voldemort would completely trust Snape would be to have him kill him. Dumbledore gave his life to get Snape in. I think when Dumbledore was begging Snape, he was actually begging him to kill him because Snape didn't want to. I also think that is why Dumbledore chose to incapacitate Harry rather than defend himself at the bridge. Also, as Harry is chasing Snape, Snape reminds him he needs to shut out his mind and kind his mouth shut. I believe this was his way of saying "Voldemorte can get into your head so you we can't tell you anything. You aren't ready and until you are you have to deal with it. This ruse has to be so good that even you believe it. Finally, Dumbledore has never been wrong the entire book. He said he trusts Snape, and so do I.
I also think that Harry has one of the seventh soul shards trapped in himself. I think voldemorte believed the prophecy and believed that the only way to prevent himself from dying was to put a piece of himself into the person who was supposed to kill him, so either way he lives. I think that's why Harry can speak to snakes, sense when Voldemort is upset, and has a lot of power. It also explains why only one can remain alive while the other lives.
Ok so there's my takes. Let me know what you think.

What really pisses me of is that, if you are right Kahn and Snape is still one of the good guys, that means Harry can't kill Malfoy, because then Snape will die. I agree that I think that Snape is playing the Death Eaters, and that he is still with the order of the Phoenix. That is why he didn't bust Harry over the potions book, and reminded Harry to shut his mind out. I also agree with you Kahn that Harry's scar is the 7th Horcruxes, and for Voldemort to die, Harry will have to die. The ending still pissed me off though.

I think it was supposed to a little. You're not supposed to know what to think. She does a good job of that. If she kills Harry in the last book, there would be a nightmare of angry letters and whatnot. You have to wonder how she'll close things off.

Spoiler warning!!!!
Ok. I just finished "Half Blood Prince" and I'm really not sure how I feel about Snape at this point. Part of me says "he can never be dead enough!" while part of me agrees with the "go for broke" theory. I don't agree about Harry's scar being the sixth Horcrux though. I don't believe Voldemort could have performed whatever rite was needed while being blown nearly to oblivion by the backlash of teh Avada Kavedra spell. Besides, he was there to kill Harry.
All-in-all, a great read and one of my favorites from the series. November and "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" (movie) cannot get here soon enough!
