Bus On Eminem Tour Collides With Semis On I-70
11 Taken To Hospitals

ODESSA, Mo. -- Hip-hop artist Eminem will proceed with a concert in Denver Thursday despite a tour-bus crash near Kansas City that sent 11 people to hospitals.

MTV's Web site reported that the bus was part of Eminem's Anger Management 3 tour and it was traveling from Chicago to Denver. Eminem was not on the bus.

Witnesses said the bus was traveling at a high rate of speed and was attempting to pass a vehicle on I-70 near Odessa when the bus swerved out of control.

The Missouri Highway Patrol said the bus swerved onto the right shoulder of the highway to avoid hitting two tractor-trailers. The bus driver overcorrected and clipped one of the tractor-trailers, sending it across the median and into eastbound traffic. Troopers said the bus driver overcorrected again hitting the other tractor-trailer. The bus skidded into the median. In all, seven vehicles were involved in the wreck.

All 11 of the injured were taken to local hospitals.

KMBC's Kris Ketz reported that the bus belongs to a Florida company.

A portion of I-70 was shut down for more than two hours while the wreck was cleared. The investigation into the accident continues.

I almost made the drive up to Denver for this show.

I can't wait until the classiest people on the board come with "Damn, too bad they didn't die."

Wow, they crashed in Odessa of all the places.

That is just weird. I think he is from St. Joe which is not far away. I could be wrong...

Seriously, Odessa.

I had a buddy who died in a car wreck in that area.

I have no use for him or for hip hop as a genre...but to actually wish death upon a performer crosses a line I wouldn't even approach.

Producer The Alchemist and rapper Stat Quo were injured in a serious bus accident Wednesday morning (July 13) during Eminem’s Anger Management tour.

According to published reports, the tour bus was speeding on Interstate 70 outside of Kansas City, Missouri, when the bus driver swerved to avoid a pair of trucks.

Witnesses stated the driver of the tour bus was driving around 90 mph when he swerved off of the road to avoid a collision with a semitrailer. The driver swerved back onto the roadway and hit a truck and then turned over.

The artists were treated at the Independence Regional Health Center. The Alchemist at was treated for broken ribs and a collapsed lung, Stat Quo suffered broken ribs and Stat’s manager suffered broken ribs and a broken ankle.

At least 11 other people were injured in what resulted in a six-car accident, but none of the other injuries were serious.

Police said an investigation into the accident is underway.

When the rapper from Vegas was killed there were a couple of poor taste comments.

Mainstream hip hop and real hip hop are two different things. Mainstream hip hop is based on gimmics. It's all BS. All they make are songs about their money, cars, and women. It pretty much sucks. Real hip hop is about the music, and it's very good music. A lot of the old school rappers, who were very good, are still making new music. It just never gets air time on the radio or MTV. Now a days you have to go out and look for real hip hop. Ten years ago real hip hop was on all the stations, and on Rap City and Yo MTV Raps. It was great. Now it sucks.

The tour's name has been officially changed from "anger management" to "road rage"

Driving 90 mph is totally reckless. Of course, I've never been in OF1 with DiscoMan.

And that is perfectly fine. Music is like movies, or favorite colors, or cars. Everybody has their own taste and opinion which is great. I don't care (despite what some might think) who likes what or dislikes what. But Jason referenced this in one of his posts in this topic, there was a thread about a rapper being murdered, with numerous replies of "good" and such, which is so idiotic. Yeah, murder is good just because you don't like the genre of music somebody plays.

I agree and I disagree at the same time. You're absolutely right about mainstream rap going in a direction that is without anything real, and all about money, cars, etc. You're also right about having to search the internet or underground record stores for real hip hop with a real message.

However, I think there is a time and place for everything. I love Public Enemy, for example. They had great words and messages, tackling real issues. But do I want to hear PE in a club? No. My favorite hip hop group right now is Atmosphere, but I don't want to hear them in the club either. When I'm drinking, grinding on some chick, etc, I want to hear the 50 Cent's, Luda's, etc. So while it may not be deep music, sometimes you just want a hot beat to dance to.

Maybe flavor could promote a message to kids on tooth decay and better oral hygiene and maybe the do's and do not's of color coordinating?

70 is fine. Let's leave it there. Call me crazy, but just getting there safe and in resonable time is much more importand than knocking off an hour by driving stupid. A bus is a cruiser, not a racer. I have always been amused when some corvette flys past me then is pulled over on the side of the road about 10 miles later. Then it double flies past me, then I see it pulled over again. This was in Florida, and everyone was driving about 75 anyway. I don't mind opening a car up for a short stretch, cut sheesh. The cop was going thru his trunk ect...then another 30 miles he was pulled over again.

There is never a reason to drive bus too fast. Unless your Otto. Your not Otto are you DiscoMan?
